Arielle's pov
My eyes were glued shut
I tried so hard to open them but I couldn't
My skin was burning
My face felt sticky from the sweat
My head was pounding
I tried to move but I couldn't
I tried to shout but I couldn't
I was stuck in the darkn...
Hell nah!
None of those happened.
I just had one of the best dreams of my life. It was really strange but nice.
I was burning with excitement and I felt really hyper, like I could run a marathon and not feel tired...
Just like the unicorn in my drea...
Anyways!
Why is everywhere so dark though?
I tried to stand up but due to unfortunate circumstances, I fall face down
Ow! My nose
"You shouldn't try to move around in this state"
I stood up turned around slowly with wide eyes and trembling lips. Of course I couldn't see anything. This room was pitch black
"Who's there?" I asked and I heard a chuckle
"It doesn't matter. Lie back down" the voice said and I heard some shuffling
I huffed and traced my way back to the bed
Who the hell does she think she is? She doesn't have the right to tell me what to do!
But I listened though...
And then there was silence.
I was getting bored so I sat down on the bed and tapped my foot on the floor, humming the lyrics of one of my favorite songs
"Stop that" the voice said again
"But I'm bored" I whined
"Then try thinking" the mean voice replied
Thinking? What does that mean?
"Now don't move" the voice said and I heard someone's footsteps. Oh, she's coming to meet me! Lovely
"Sit up" she said and I sat up. I strained my eyes to see her but I couldn't see anything. It's like she blended with the darkness. But then she lit a candle
It wasn't much but it was enough for me to see her outline
She was wearing a black cloak and a black mask but I could see her forehead and she had a scar
She looks dangerous... maybe I should hug her
She put her hand on my forehead. I tried to look up but she hissed, making me look down in fear. She closed her eyes and muttered something in a very weird language
I should ask her to teach me
"Hey could you te..." she opened her eyes and I gasped in shock. Her normal brown eyes now had a strange gray color. I could almost swear I saw a dragon flying in her eyes. Then suddenly, I started to feel really light headed. She continued muttering something but stopped when we heard footsteps from outside
"She should be awake by now"
"Hopefully"
The voices said and she blew the candle
"Shit" in one swift move, she stood up and whispered something, disappearing right after
Today's really strange
Oh well...
I tried to stand up but once again, I collapsed. Now my head was really hurting
Just then, someone opened the door and turned on the lights, making me shut my eyes from the sudden brightness and adding to my head ache
"Arielle!" the new male voice shouted and ran to me, lifting me up in his hands
Uhn...this also happened in my dream
I opened my eyes and looked at him, just as he closed the door behind him with his foot
But he isn't Korean...
he's useless
He has nice hair though
I stared at his white hair for a while before putting my hands around his neck and hugging him tightly. He stopped walking for a while and groaned before walking again
He also smells nice
I sniffed his neck and moaned a little. He smells like...like...what does he smell like again? That's IRRELEVANT! As long as he smells nice
"I'm feeling sleepy" I whispered to him and shut my eyes. Slowly letting the darkness consume me

Devon's pov
I kicked the door open, making Isabella jump up in surprise
"Prince Devon what do you think..."
"Attend to her" I said as I put her down on one of the beds.
"What happened this time?" Isabella sighed and walked over to Arielle.
"I dunno" I shrugged "but it seems she was attacked" I said and Isabella brushed Arielle's hair away from her neck and stared at the cut
"Not really" she said and looked at me
"Huh" I asked
"The cut is really small and precise. If she was involved in a violent attack, it would have been serious"
"So what you're saying is..."
"Whoever did this meant no harm, well, to Arielle" she said and I suddenly remembered something...
"Oh, and I also found this petal" I brought out the black petal and gave it to her
"Now it all makes sense" Isabella said and sat down on her chair with a smile on her face as she examined the petal
"What does?" I asked
"This isn't a petal. Even I don't know the name. But what I know is that whoever used this on Arielle is up to something illegal"
"Just tell me what it is"
"It's just something made out of human blood. Only witches can make it. I haven't used it before but from what I heard, one sniff is enough to make your head turn. It has the same side effects as being drunk but stronger. It puts you in a state of vulnerability and can also be used to wipe a person's memory. So whoever did this is either a witch or was accompanied by a witch and used Arielle's blood to make this. When Arielle wakes up, she wouldn't remember a thing, well; she'd only forget what they want her to forget. But apart from that, she's safe" she said
What did she say again?
"But why couldn't I smell the blood? I mean, I'm a vampire, I should have been able to smell blood especially my mate's blood" I said and walked over to Arielle, sniffing her neck
Nothing
"The witch probably cleared her scent as well as that of the blood. Like you said, vampires around that area would have been able to smell the blood and make a ruckus....wait, that doesn't make sense" Isabella stood up and looked at me "I wasn't able to attend the ball. By any chance, was blood served?" she asked
"Of course"
"then with the amount of blood being served, the witch wouldn't have needed to clear the scent because no one would have noticed except her mate" she raised her eyebrow " are you sure no one else knows Arielle's your mate" she asked
"Well, I didn't tell anyone and I don't think anyone else did" I said, thinking.
"Maybe I'm just overthinking" she said and shrugged as she applied some ointment on Arielle's neck
I wonder how that petal is created...wait a minute...
"Isabella! Did you say whoever sniffs that black stuff will go crazy" I waked closer to her and asked
"Well technically, I said it puts you in a state of...."
"Yeah yeah yeah whatever" I cut her off
Oh oh...
Just then, Michael and Adrian barge into the room, holding a drunken looking Mason
Oh well
"This bastard has issues. He's been acting drunk for a while now" Adrian said and they both threw him to the floor
Isabella looked at me with a cocked brow
"He sniffed the bloody stuff" I said and she frowned
"You guys have been all around the place. Someone tell me what's going on" my sister enters looking pissed
Mason stands up and was about to reach Megan but he stumbled and fell on Michael
"Mine" mason slurred, pointing at Megan while Megan looked scared
"No no no, that's not yours" Michael cooed as if talking to a child
"Mate" mason said making all of us shocked
"Oh give me a fucking break" Isabella said
