Time passed as Lincoln watched Ryder and Rocky work.
"Hey Rocky, didn't Lincoln want to help?" Ryder asks, noticing that the pup was curled up on the ground doing nothing.
Rocky looked at Lincoln before saying something. "Do you want to?" He asked him.
"Hum?" Lincoln asks, slightly looking up at Rocky.
"Do you wanna help us?" Rocky repeated.
"Oh. Ok." Lincoln says as he gets up and walks over to the two of them with his head low.
Rocky tilted his head at him, noticing his unusual behavior. "What's wrong Lincoln?" He asked, concerned.
"Nothing." Lincoln says lying.
Rocky raised an eyebrow, immediately recognizing that he was lying. "It's not nothing Lincoln. What's the matter?" He asked putting his tools down and giving his full action to Lincoln.
"I think I made Chase mad." Lincoln says, as he starts to toying with a screwdriver on the floor.
"Oh? What makes you say that?" Rocky asked, a tad bit confused.
"Well I had a accident this mowning cause Tucky was in the bathwoom, and i couldnt hold it. Den when I was brushing my teeth I need to poop, so i did it in my pull-up cause I thought it would be fine, but I think Chase was not happy. Den when Wryew told me to stay still I pee pee. And I think that make him mad." Lincoln says sadly.
"We know, Chase told us what happened this morning already. But did he say that he was mad?" Rocky asked.
"No, but I feel like he is. I feel like he is disappointed in me." Lincoln says sadly.
"Hmm, well, Chase is a pretty honest pup, so if he was really mad or disappointed in you, I'd like to think that he'd say something." Rocky said after thinking for a while.
"Yeah. But I know you guys are always twying to pwotect us and make us happy. So I not know if dis is all a mask." Lincoln says.
"Well, that is true, but we also know that family always comes first. No one knows that more than Chase, so I don't believe that Chase would be dishonest or try to hide anything feeling-wise from any of us." Rocky said.
"But how many secrets does he have that I not know? I not want to make him more mad, ow disappointed." Lincoln says.
"Well, you'll have to hear that from him. It's not my place to tell you secrets any of the other pups may have." Rocky said.
Lincoln sighed before speaking. "Do you think I make him mad? I want da twuth." Lincoln says.
"No Lincoln. I really don't think you did." Rocky said seriously as he put his paws on Lincoln's shoulders and looked him in the eyes.
"Weally?" Lincoln asks.
"Absolutely. I wouldn't lie to you." Rocky said, giving a kind smile.
Lincoln nodded yes as he looked down. "Last time I had 3 accidents he put me in diapers. But dis time he did not." Lincoln says.
"That's because Ryder made him promise that he wouldn't." Rocky said.
"Oh. So he was going to put me in a diapy." Lincoln says sadly.
"He was considering it yes. But he clearly didn't seeing as you're currently in another pull up." Rocky said, as he patted Lincoln's padded butt.
"Yeah, but I asked him and he told me dat he was not." Lincoln says.
"Huh?" Rocky asked, a little confused.
"I asked Chase after he changed me and he said no." Lincoln says.
"No about what?" Rocky asked, still confused.
"If he was going to put me in a diaper." Lincoln says.
"Ohhh. Well like I said, he promised he wouldn't, so he didn't." Rocky said.
"But he was thinking of it, and I'm ready to accept my punishment." Lincoln says.
Rocky was at a loss after hearing this and looked over to Ryder for help.
"Talk to him, Please. I'm at a loss, and I don't know what else to do." He told Ryder.
"About what? What's wrong?" Ryder asks.
"Ryder, have you been listening to this at all?" Rocky asked, a little annoyed.
"Not really. I thought I would let you handle it so I left you to it." Ryder says as he walks over to the two of them.
Rocky sighed and rolled his eyes. "Never assume anything Ryder, you taught me that. Cause I'm at a loss on what to do now and need your help." Rocky said.
"That was Chase actually. But what do you need help with?" Ryder asks as he sets his screw driver down.
Rocky sighed again and recounted everything that he and Lincoln had said, right up to the last moment where Lincoln had said he was ready for his punishment.
"So you see, I don't know how to respond to that, so you talk to him now." Rocky said, taking a step back.
"Well to start Rocky, why don't we go at this together.
So to start Lincoln feels like he made Chase mad, because he's had three accidents so far today. Now let's look at how those accidents occurred.
The first one was an actual accent because he could not hold his bladder while waiting for Tuck to get out of the bathroom. The second one was because he chose to use his pull-up, instead of using the toilet. And third one was because he was following the rules. So if you ask me Lincoln, I think he would be proud of you for following the rules. But choosing to use your pull-up when a toilet was available, probably not the best idea. And the accident when you woke up was because of decisions you made, that just didn't turn out well. But I don't think that you have made him mad, I think he's just concerned about you, and wants to be able to help you. And in this instance he was thinking one way to do this would be by providing you with more padding, so that if you were to have an accident it would be better protected.
I personally am not a big fan of punishments, and I would rather not use them if I didn't have to. In the long run Lincoln, I think that Chase really cares about you, and really wants to be able to protect you. I know he's been rough on you at times, but that's out of the love in his heart. The reason why he's tough on you sometime is because he wants you to be better than him, so he's pushing you as much as he can to try and make you better than him." Ryder says.
"Rally? You really think so?" Lincoln asks, looking up at Ryder.
"I know so. And I know that if you were under anyone else's wing, that the would do the same." Ryder says
Rocky doesn't say anything, but nods in confirmation at it all.
"Do you want to go talk to Chase? Ask him how he feels? Rocky and I could come with you if you need." Ryder says.
"No. I want to help." Lincoln says.
Rocky still said nothing, just looking back and forth between the two for each other's response.
"Well Rocky, what do you say? You feel like continuing?" Ryder asks looking at the mix.
"Sure, I am if you are." Rocky said with a shrug.
"You both ready?" Ryder asks the two.
"Yep." Lincoln says as he looks at Rocky.
"Let's do it." Rocky said.
Lincoln smiles as he follows the two. The three get back to work on the wheelchair, with Ryder and Rocky giving Lincoln instruction where needed.
On the other side of the lookout Chase, and Zuma are watching over Rusty. Rusty was playing with some of his toys in the playroom while Chase and Zuma kept an eye on him.
"So what have you been up to?" Zuma asks Chase.
"Not much...you?" Chase asked, while he shrugged.
"Got Rusty bathed, then we came in here to play." Zuma says.
"Good. Has he gone potty yet?" Chase asked.
"He said he was good so I put him back into his pull up. I trust that he knows when he needs to go so well see whether he needed to or not." Zuma says.
"Hmm...might wanna take him for a potty break here in a bit. Don't wanna take any chances." Chase said after thinking for a bit.
"Yeah i was thinking about taking him on one in like 10-15 minutes if nothing happens within that time." Zuma says.
"Sounds good." Chase says agreeing with Zuma "Good on you for thinking ahead." Chase added, praised him.
About 10 minutes Zuma chooses to check on Rusty.
When he did so he smelled something bad.
"Hey bud, how you doing? Do you need to use the bathroom?" Zuma asks
"Umm...I dunno Zumy...maybe?" Rusty said, looking back at him.
"Could I check your pull-up?" Zuma asks looking at the young pup.
"S-Sure Zumy." Rusty said softly, blushing a little.
Zuma then proceeded to pull the back of Rusty's diaper back a bit, and the answer to his question was found.
"Rusty did you need to go to the bathroom?" Zuma asked looking down at the young pup.
"Well...w-well I thought I had to at first...but then I tooted a little and I didn't feel like I had to anymore..." Rusty said, blushing more.
"Ok. well then let's get you changed. Cause you did a little stinky in your pull-up. And we don't want you to get a rash." Zuma tells Rusty, before he picks him up.
"...o-oh...s-sorry..." Rusty whimpered, tearing up a little
"It's ok buddy. Just next time you feel like you need to go tell me and I'll help you get to the bathroom." Zuma says.
Zuma then gave Chase the look to tell him to pull the changing supplies out. Chase nodded and got out the wipes, the powder, the cream they used for when the pups pooped, and a new pull up.
"Now let's get you changed buddy." Zuma says as he carries Rusty over to the changing table before laying Rusty down on the table.
Rusty nodded and wiped his eyes as he laid still on the table. "Hey its ok buddy.'' Zuma says as he starts to change Rusty's diaper.
Zuma tore the sides of the pull-up. He then proceeds to wipe Rusty's butt clean. Zuma then put the dirty wipes in the pull-up, rolled it up, and set it aside. He then grabs the new pull up and slides it up Rusty's legs, but before he gets it all the way up he applies some of the cream to Rusty's butt. Zuma then slides the diaper all the way up on Rusty. He then stands Rusty up, and puts some powder in the front and back of Rusty's diaper. "Alright buddy, all done." Zuma says as he pats Rusty's diaper.
"Th-Thanks Zumy..." Rusty said softly, while blushing.
"No prob buddy." Zuma says as he sets Rusty back onto the floor.
Zuma then cleans up the changing station, while Rusty slowly crawled back over to his toys and slowly drove one of his little cars across his play rug.
"Well so much for the potty break." Zuma says to Chase.
Chase sighed and shook his head. "So close too." He muttered.
"Yeah, but it happens to the best of us." Zuma says.
"Need to shorten the time between breaks. Maybe start taking them even if they say they don't need to go." Chase said, thinking hard about it.
"Yeah, but we don't want to fill their whole entire day with potty breaks." Zuma says.
"Well what do you suggest?" Chase asked him.
"Well we could do potty breaks like every hour and a half to two hours. and also do them right before we leave to go somewhere, right after we get home, and after eating something." Zuma says.
"Isn't that what we were doing?" Chase asked.
"I can't quite remember. it might be." Zuma says.
"Well all I know is that whatever we've been doing hasn't been working." Chase said, feeling a little exhausted.
"Are you ok? Did something happen?" Zuma asks seeing that Chase seems rather stressed at the moment.
"Lincoln's already had three accidents this morning, so having this happen is more than a bit much right now." Chase said.
"Ok well, to start let's take a step back for a minute and breath. You're always diving head first into things, and never save a second for yourself. Lets just set the subject down for a second, and take a chance to enjoy life. We only have this life for so long before it's gone." Zuma says.
"That's easy for you to say, you're not the second-in-command of this family." Chase frowned.
"Yes but I am a part of it and I also feel what you feel at times, but your going to drive yourself into the ground if all you do is worry about everything that's going on around you." Zuma says.
"Yeah, well, that's kind of my job." Chase huffed a little.
"Come on Chase. You have barely done anything for yourself, heck, you still wet the bed on the regular. I refuse to stand by and watch you use your life up like this. I want you to relax some. What you think is your job, is really mostly Ryder's job. He can do that so you don't have to, You've already wasted enough of your childhood, which is probably the reason for your bed wetting, I don't want to watch you waste your youth." Zuma says.
"Ryder can't do it all himself though. He's tried and he's failed. He needs me because he knows I can do it. I'm fine." Chase said, looking away.
"Look at you, you're not fine. You still wet the bed because you rushed through maturing. Plus we have more pups now. Everest and Ella can help. I can help. Marshall, Rocky and Skye can too. We're all here so you don't have to do this alone." Zuma says.
"What makes you think you can do this? What makes you think that any of you can handle this? You've never been in this position before, none of you have. I was made second in command for a reason, only I can do this." Chase said back.
"If thats really what you think i cant stand next to you and watch you bury yourself your self alive." Zuma says as he walks away. "Oh and if its so important to you, then you can watch Rusty." He adds on his way out.
"Fine, go." Chase shouts at him, tears falling from his eyes.
Zuma walks away with his head hung low and tears in his eyes.
Chase panted hard from getting so worked up for a few moments, then slowly sank to the floor and started to cry softly.
"I'm sorry Zuma...I didn't mean to...I'm so sorry..." he cried softly.
