━━━━━━━★☾★☾★☾━━━━━━━

EVELYN WATCHED IN SILENCE as the buildings flashed by. Her head rested on the headrest in the back seat of Leonard's car. They've been driving for twenty minutes, and no one had bothered to fill her in on the plan. They were getting closer to The Garden now, and she doesn't know what she was supposed to do when they got there. She hated heading into a situation blind.

"What's up with you?" Leonard asked her annoyed the minute she let out a frustrated groan.

"We're almost at The Garden." Evelyn said. "So when are you gonna let me in on what we're gonna do?" Leonard sighed, and Evelyn leaned forward. Each of her arms hung on the back of both Leonard's and Mick's seats. "I mean, you do have a plan right?"

"Of course, we have a plan." Mick growled.

Evelyn turned to Leonard for clarification on Mick's claim. "Do you actually have a plan?"

"Mick told you we have a plan. Why ask again?" He asked blandly.

"Well, incase you haven't noticed, Mick is a bit intoxicated." Evelyn replied sarcastically. Anyone with eyes could see that Mick is smashed. He was sunken back in the passenger seat. His head rested against the window with his hand on his face. Low and slightly inaudible mumbles could be heard falling from his lips.

"Of course, I've noticed. Why do you think he's not the one driving? If I'm gonna die, I rather it be on my terms and not because of a drunken idiot." Leonard told her. His words were obviously meant to be humorous, but there was a hint of truth to it. Evelyn nodded but a smirk slowly creeped on her face.

"Can you imagine it?" Evelyn asked him and Leonard raised a brow. "Leonard Snart: Central City's most wanted, skilled thief, died in a car accident." Evelyn chuckled as she watched Leonard struggle to keep a straight face.

Leonard finally broke. A smirk found its way on his face. "It would be an insult to my own name." He replied.

"Nah, I mean, there could be worse ways to go." She said.

"Yeah, I guess you're right." He said then remained silent for a moment. Evelyn could tell he was collecting his thoughts, so she waited before saying anything else. This was kind of odd to her. It's been years, yet they were able to act as if no time had passed. She found it actually nice for them to talk like nothing had changed between them.

"I could dedicate my whole life to something people see as not ideal and then go out a hero. Now that, that is worse." Leonard spoke again, chuckling to himself.

Evelyn rolled her eyes. "I don't think dying a hero is a bad thing. In fact I rather you did go out a hero than die for nothing. I mean, wouldn't you?"

He scoffed. "Yeah, like that would happen." He avoided her question, but his previous response was all she needed to know that that was the last thing he wanted. To be remembered as a hero.

"Can you two shut up?" Mick yelled suddenly, making Evelyn jump in her seat. "Damn...my head is pounding...."

"Mick, do you need a snicker?" Evelyn asked him jokingly. She was purposely trying to piss him off. Before she had left this life behind, one of her favorite ways to pass time was to push Mick's buttons. It was very entertaining, and definitely worth it.

"Don't push me girlie!" Mick said as he jabbed a finger in her direction. His eyes never meet hers but instead they burned holes through his palm. Leonard rolled his eyes. His sight never left the windshield, but he took one hand off the wheel and begun to blindly search for something.

"Hey!" Mick yelled. He jumped up in his seat when he was smacked in the face with a water bottle. His face burned red with anger. "What the hell was that for?!"

"We're about to be there, so drink up. I need you sober." Leonard demanded strongly. Mick decided not to argue since he knew it was a fight he wouldn't win. He huffed then roughly took the cap off the bottle. Evelyn bit down on her bottom lip to refrain from laughing.

"So back to the plan then..." Evelyn said slowly hoping he would just tell her.

The car came to a slow stop in the back alley of The Garden. Leonard turned off the ignition then turned to Mick who was waiting for his boss to give him the green light. "Let her know we're here." He said to Mick.

Mick nodded. "Sure thing boss." He quickly got out of the car. His bulky built made the small car shake a bit as he hurried out.

Leonard turned to Evelyn. "You wanna know the plan?" He asked her teasingly with a smirk.

"Just shut up and tell me."

"The family who own The Garden also runs a black market. A black market that's built underneath The Garden." Evelyn was pretty shocked at this news. She remembered eating here once before. It was for Iris's twenty fifth birthday. Thinking back on it, it was actually pretty smart on their part to put it here. No one would have ever suspected a place like this one. The restaurant was very elegant and very expensive. She would never have guessed that the people who own it were criminals. But at the same time, she shouldn't be that surprised. Unfortunately, they were a lot of crooked people in Central City.

"I occasionally do business here, and I heard from a...friend...that they're doing an auction of weapons tonight. According to the emails and their guest list, my father is supposed to be here." Leonard added before getting out of the car. He soon opened the door for Evelyn, and she gave him a small smile.

Leonard held his arm out for her to take. "So are we simply observing or?" Evelyn asked as they walked arm in arm toward the basement doors. Apparently Mick was already inside casing the place out.

"I'm going to talk to my father." He said with a sigh, and Evelyn's head snapped in his direction. She had been expecting him to barge in, guns blazing, ready to kill him. After all that was what he originally claimed to do. She was happy, but she mainly was proud that he decided on a different route.

"I'm gonna tell him to stay out of me and Lisa's lives...for good."He added. She could see he was nervous, so she gave his arm a gentle and comforting squeeze.

"How long?" She asked him as they reached the doors.

He gave her a look. "'How long' what?" He asked her confused.

She gave him a small sympathetic smile. "How long has it been since you seen him?" She knew this was gonna be hard for him. Talking to him on the phone was one thing, but being in the same room was another. That man destroyed his children. He used them for his own personal gain and ruined their future. Yes, she knew others would say that they could've done better with their lives if they wanted too. But she knew better than anyone that it was not as easy as everyone thought it was. They spent their lives being told that they are nothing, and they couldn't amount to anything. They were beaten, and emotional and verbally abused until they were exactly what he needed them to be. It's hard to just forget something like that. It's hard to just come back from that. There was no way that either of them would escape Lewis's clutches without coming out of it bruised and broken. It just wasn't possible.

"Years." He said while staring straight ahead. He refused to make any eye contact. "I can't remember the last time I was in a room with him." His wall was about to break, and he couldn't have that. He didn't want anyone to see him like that. To see him as weak, so he straightened up his posture. His face grew hard once more. "I was hoping I would never have to see his face again, but you know what they say about hope." He said coldly then banged on the door.

There was this unbearable tension now as they waited for someone to open up. Whether it was intentional or not, she didn't like it. "So, who's this friend?" She asked with hope that if she changed the subject then the tension would dissipate. But boy was she wrong.

"What?" He asked while he texted someone.

"The friend who works here? The one who told you about the auction." Evelyn elaborated for his sake.

"Zelena." He said with a shrug, and Evelyn nodded slowly as she tried to ignore the way her chest had tightened.

"So she's a friend?" She asked hesitantly. She peered up at him to see the smirk that took over his frown.

He looked over at her. "Yeah, that's all." He said slowly and strongly as if he wanted her to know that it was indeed the truth. Evelyn shook her head. She doesn't know why it bothered her. He doesn't need to explain anything to her. What he does with his life is his business. But she also couldn't help but feel relieved when he said just the words she- would never admit to it- wanted to hear.

The door finally swung open. The sound of a woman clearing her throat brought them back to the real world. Evelyn didn't even notice that they had been engaged in a deep staring contest. She forced herself to look away from his beautiful icy blue eyes. A blonde woman stood at the doors. She wore a tight black dress that left little to no imagination of what's underneath. Evelyn cleared her throat at the girls bold move. She would never have enough confidence to parade around in a dress like that.

"Leonard." The blonde said slowly with a smirk. Her fingers twirled a strand of her hair like a scene out of a movie. Her eyes practically undressed him as they shamelessly trailed down his figure.

Leonard simply smirked at her. "Zelena." Evelyn eyes widened slightly as she was now able to put a face to the name.

"So-"

"Mind letting us in?" Leonard cut her off, as he jerked his head in Evelyn's direction.

Zelena's eyes snapped toward Evelyn. A fire grew behind her dark eyes. Her jaw locked and unlocked before she flashed Evelyn a fake smile. "Of course, I'm Zelena." She said while she stepped aside for them to enter.

Leonard quickly laced his hand with Evelyn's much to both of the women's surprise. He stepped inside first while he gently tugged her with him. "Uh, Evelyn." She called out as she glanced back at Zelena who was closing the door behind them.

"Is he here?" Leonard asked Zelena as he stopped at the last step on the staircase. Evelyn observed the crowded space. It was hard to make out anything with this many people. The only thing she can visibly see apart from the abundance of people was a bar, a big red curtain that obviously covered the weapons for sell, and a poker table in the back corner of the basement.

"Yeah, far back corner." Zelena said as she physically pointed him out to the pair. "By the poker table."

His eyes are trained on his father. "He doesn't know I'm coming right?" Leonard asked her. He was very much hoping to keep the element of surprise.

"He doesn't know a thing." She said as she placed a hand on his free arm. Leonard glanced down at her hand that rested on his arm then shrugged her hand off. Zelena was visibly hurt by his gesture, but she quickly recovered to avoid anymore embarrassment.

"Where's Mick?" He then asked as he searched the sea of people for him. He would occasionally glance back at his father to make sure he wasn't spotted just yet.

"He's at the bar." Zelena said dryly.

"Of course, he is." He said then turned to her. "Thanks for your help."

"You know I'm always here for you." She said with a smirk. Her eyes drifted to Evelyn before she glanced back at Leonard. She took a small step forward. "Call me if you need anything else. You have my number." She added seductively not even trying to be subtle. Evelyn couldn't help but roll her eyes.

Leonard didn't say a thing. "It was nice meeting you, Evelyn." She said with a fake smile. Zelena then disappeared into the crowd but not without sending Evelyn a glare that didn't go unnoticed by either of the two.

"Just a friend huh?" Evelyn said to Leonard sarcastically. Leonard looked at her questionably with a raised eyebrow. "If looks could kill, I'd probably be dead right now."

Leonard gave her his usual smug smile. "She is a friend."

"With benefits?" Evelyn questioned him with a sarcastic smile that only caused his smile to grow.

"I occasionally benefit from her, so yeah I guess you can say that." He said with a smirk. He said it because he knew it would piss her off. But unfortunately that didn't mean it wasn't the truth.

Evelyn huffed. "She's such a bitch." She muttered underneath her breath. Leonard chuckled to himself then tugged her towards the floor.

"Let's talk to daddy dearest shall we."
