The long awaited day had finally arrived. Kaminari had found (Y/N)'s number in his phone and texted her about the date and time.
As she checked herself out in the mirror, she couldn't help but feel a little self conscious. The thoughts just crept into her mind out of nowhere but she slapped herself on the cheek, reminding herself that she was one good looking motherfucker.
Besides, Kaminari had taken a picture of her before when she hadn't put much effort into her appearance and he still thought she looked good. She was actually trying to look good now so she was automatically prettier by default.
She wanted to check up on her date's status, so she pulled out her phone and entered Class 1A's groupchat.

Her phone beeped and she saw that this time, it was a text from Kaminari.
kaminari: we're still on for today, right?

She checked herself out in the mirror one last time and left her house. There was plenty of time left until the date so she decided to walk to the location and wait there. That way, she would be there at least five minutes before the actual time.
As she walked, her mind couldn't help but wander back to Midoriya's words. Bakugou had been staring at her in the hallways when school first started? He thought she was pretty? Her cheeks heated up at those thoughts. How had she not noticed this?
She had never thought about boys being interested in her. Sure, she would get looks from them sometimes but those were just passing looks.
She recalled that one time she saw Shinsou cornering three guys before walking home with her. What if he had something to do with this?
Shut up, (Y/N), she thought as she lightly slapped her cheeks, You're not in a shoujo manga. That didn't happen.
When she reached the spot that she and Kaminari had decided on, she saw that he was there already. He was texting on his phone — presumably on the hero fuckers and cock suckers group chat, judging by the way her phone was buzzing.
Oh right, her phone.
She made sure to put her phone on do not disturb. It would be awkward if he typed something on the chat and her phone buzzed at the exact same time. She didn't want something like that happening just because of her stupidity.
"Hey," she said as she held her hand out to Kaminari, "I'm (L/N) (Y/N), by the way. I know I forgot to introduce myself last time. Also, the name I entered on your phone doesn't help."
"I had one of my friends saved as that name too but the TM symbol helped differentiate you," he laughed, "I actually forgot whether or not I introduced myself last time so I'll go again. I'm Kaminari Denki."
She laughed, wondering who it could be. The blonde then held his hand out and led her to their location.
"Where exactly are we going?" She asked. In the text, he had only told her where to meet, not where they were going and she couldn't help but be a little curious.
"You'll know when we get there, sweetheart," he replied. The pet name made her heart thump a little. She couldn't believe that this was the same guy who was panicking in the group chat earlier on.
"Right," she replied. It was a short walk and she wondered how she didn't notice what the spot was. Kaminari stopped in front of a cinema and pulled out two tickets. "We're watching a movie!" He said excitedly.
He seemed so enthusiastic that it rubbed off on her. "What movie?" She asked, trying to take a look at the tickets.
"Nah-ah," he chided, hiding them behind him, "You'll find out only when we get there."
"Sure," she replied, "I hope it's nothing corny."
While (Y/N) stood off to the side, Kaminari went to grab some snacks. He came back with an extra large sized popcorn and some drinks. "Ready?" He asked and she nodded.
The two of them picked a spot right in the middle so that they weren't too close to the front or too in the back. The suspense was killing (Y/N) and she wondered which movie he was taking her to watch.
Either it could be an old classic, an action movie starring either All Might or Endeavor — she didn't doubt that, considering that all of 1A and 1B were fanboys and fangirls —, a scary movie, or a romance.
She hoped to God that it wouldn't be an action movie. She liked them but they weren't exactly something she would actively watch for fun.
The introduction rolled around and she squirmed in her seat in anticipation. The ominous music paired with the gloomy background and thunderstorms told her exactly what it was.
You sly dog, she thought as she glanced at a smirking Kaminari. She remembered reading somewhere that activities which increased the heart rate of the people involved in the activity would make them like each other more. Either that or he was trying to reenact the cliche shoujo scenes where the girl jumps into the guy's arms because she's scared.
Unluckily for him, she had a bit of a tolerance for horror movies. She still did get scared, but she didn't show it outright.
The movie started off with the main character finding a creepy antique vase and taking it back to her house. Her house being some sort of dark cabin in the middle of nowhere with gigantic evergreen trees looming around it.
The creepy scenes heightened her anxiety and built suspense for the climax. Not long after, there was a jumpscare and (Y/N) could swear that her heart almost leapt out of her chest.
Nothing could have prepared her for when Kaminari jumped and clung to her arm like a startled cat. She gently stroked his hair. "Jesus Christ," he muttered as he shut his eyes, "Please tell me when it's over."
(Y/N) laughed but her eyes widened as she saw the creepiest face take up the whole screen. "Oh my god," she whispered as she held on tight to the blonde.
"It's bad isn't it?" He asked and she nodded, unable to form the words, the face still etched in the back of her head.

"This wasn't the plan," the blonde said after the movie ended. They were both outside the cinema, taking a break after watching horrifying movie. "You were going to jump into my arms and I was going to say 'it's alright, I've got you'."
(Y/N) giggled at his honest confession. "It was still fun," she said, "No wonder this was the top horror movie of the year. I felt my soul leave my body."
"You sure didn't act like it."
(Y/N) laughed and looked up at the sky. It was beginning to get dark and it seemed like Kaminari noticed because his gaze followed hers. "I'll walk you home?" He suggested and she nodded.
The walk back was pleasant. The two of them talked about the movie, themselves, their classes, and the upcoming sports festival. (Y/N) felt an instant connection between them because of how easily they could converse with each other.
"This is it," she said as they reached in front of her house. Kaminari nodded and he hesitated a bit before opening his mouth.
"You know, (L/N), you're a great person," he started and something about the tone in his voice told her that it wasn't a confession, "I felt an instant chemistry and you're really fun to be around. You're super pretty too. I had fun on our date."
"Me too," she replied, "The same applies to you, Kaminari."
"Thanks, but would you mind if we keep this as a just friends kind of thing?" He asked and after looking at her face, he hurriedly explained himself, "I do like you but a few things came up and I don't really know if I should be doing this. I don't know if I want to risk losing you though. I really want us to be close friends."
There was silence. (Y/N) could guess what it was about. He was still conflicted about the situation with Bakugou. Kaminari was a good friend.
He interpreted her silence as a negative reaction because she saw his face drop. "You can slap me if you want," he suggested.
"Ah no," she replied frantically, "Sorry I was just trying to process it. It's alright. Things happen and I can understand that. I also think you're a great person and I wouldn't mind just being friends. It's completely fine by me."
He breathed a sigh of relief and his tense shoulders relaxed. "That was so nerve-wracking," he complained, "If I had gotten slapped, I would have gone home and cried in my room."
She laughed at that and he cracked a small smile.
"Since you've agreed, don't complain when I bother you in the hallways or cafeteria."
"I'll be looking forward to it," she replied and waved goodbye.
He waited until she was inside her home and then left. From the other side of the door, her phone lit up with a silent notification.
