It is a grey day in LA. Outside the rain is falling from the sky, as intense as Niagara Falls drops, and it is running a cold wind through the three tops. Because of that, it seems like every citizen has decided to stay at his or her own place. At least there is no one at Starbucks this particular day. Oh ,except, a couple of teenagers taking a coffee, talking about last night’s awesome party, laughing and joking on each other’s behalf.

Mary’s pov
I have to finish of my shift an hour earlier because of the bad weather cutting the power of in our kitchen, making it unable for us to make coffee. We wait until the group of teenagers have left, then I leave too, looking forward to taking a hot shower. When I get home, the whole house is freezing cold, so I decide to light up a fire in my old fireplace, even though it is just in the beginning of September. I take my longed-for shower while I wait for the glows to catch fire. I decide to make myself some hot chocolate and when it is warm, I sit down by the fireplace with a huge blanket and my mug.
While I sit there, looking into the flames, I start thinking about Avi. Wonderful, adorable Avi. Last night was amazing, and as I think about our kiss by the car, I start wondering about what he meant when he told me his biggest fear. ‘Not finding true love’. I must admit that is the best answer I have ever heard to that type of a question. It is selfish, but on the other hand, not as selfish as all the other answers you often hear. Many people says losing their ability to walk. Of course, I understand why they are afraid of that, but that is just something that consider only themselves. Not finding true love does not only consider you, but the one you were meant to meet. He or she does not find their true love either. It is like a puzzle. To solve it, you need all the pieces. And with a broken piece, follows a broken heart.
My phone buzzing beside me interrupts my thoughts. It is a call from Avi.
“Hello, Mary,” he says and his voice is like music to my ears. “Hi, Avi. How are you?” “I am great, especially now when I get to hear your lovely voice,” he adds, leaving me blushing. “Are you flirting with me, Mr. Kaplan?” I ask him, in a suspicious voice. He laughs playfully in the other end. “Pardon me, ma’ lady,” he answers, and his sexy, deep voice gives me goose bumps. “Eh, I was just wondering if you were free tomorrow night.” I tell him I am not, that actually I was just going to relax at home, and ask him what he has in mind. “Well, I thought it might be about time I ask you out one a date. So what do you say about me picking you up at seven, tomorrow evening?” The smile that spreads across my face goes from ear to ear, and I do not even need time think over my answer. I quickly answer yes, and he tells me not to stress about finding something to wear. “I want our first day to be memorable, and I’ve got the perfect idea,” he says before we say good-bye and wish each other a good night sleep. I put out the fire and goes straight to bed, dreaming about what Avi might come up with.
