the ride back was silent, giving sumiye time to reflect and sort out her emotions. spending time with ushijima was the most fun she's had since the term started, even if kentarō didn't like him. but the girl didn't want to go against what her boyfriend wanted, and she definitely didn't want to cause another fight.
this was so stupid– she was acting so stupid. last night kentarō was losing sleep over sumiye while she spent the night galavanting around sendai with someone she barely knew. why was the redhead even considering going against her boyfriend for a classmate she barely even knew?
"we're here," kentarō spoke, breaking sumiye out of her thoughts. she shook her head slightly to remove her worries from her brain. swinging her leg off the blond's motorcycle, sumiye stood on the pavement as they removed their helmets. "call me tonight?'
"of course, baby. talk to you later." sumiye leaned in, sharing a chaste kiss with kentarō.
"love you."
swallowing her thick spit, sumiye responded, "i love you too."
when she returned to her room, the girl was met with silence; her roommate had moved out during the first term due to the redhead's obstinate and violent tendencies. after a little bit of arguing and bribery, the administration decided to let her keep the room to herself.
the white walls were covered in frame photos of her, koshiro, and lena from the past five years of friendship. it felt as if their eyes were glued to her figure, staring sumiye down as she stood in the doorway. snow globes lined her ex-roommate's bookshelf instead of books. the ex-roommate's desk had a half-finished monster tab necklace, while sumiye's desk had an array of textbooks and stationary spread across it.
within seconds, the redhead kicked off her shoes and flopped onto the bottom bunk of her bed; today had been exhausting and it wasn't even noon yet. checking her phone, sumiye noticed an email sitting in her inbox.
