"Saifah."
"Hmm."
"Can I bring this guitar to play for the singing show?" Zon asks me when he's choosing a guitar.
The shop we are in right now is the same shop we previous went to together last time. The owner is so kind for bringing out a lot of guitars for us to look at.
"Of course. There's no problem at all." I answered him.
"But the problem now is that I can't decide which one I want."
"What colour do you like?" I asked
"What colour do you think is beautiful?"
"The one you like."
"I really can't choose, Saifah. I like either black or brown. You help me na, which colour is nice."
"Then, what if you won't like what I choose?"
"I will like it."
"Well, how about the brown one?"
"It is more pretty right?"
"Yup, it suits you better."
"Then, I will go with the brown one." After Zon tells me, he turns around to talk with the owner once again. "P' krub, I will buy the brown one."
"Sure. How about nong walk around first as you guys wait, because P' need to adjust the new guitar strings first."
"Will it take long P'?"
"About twenty minutes. You guys can go buy something to eat first na." After the owner is done talking, Zon acts as if he's already thinking what's nice to eat.
"What do you think? Is it better to sit and wait, or look for something to eat?"
"Well, do you want to watch a movie?' Zon asks me.
"Do you?"
"There is this one movie I want to watch. As for that P', until when can I get the guitar?"
"Until the shop closes."
"Then, let's go watch movie."
I nod and turn to inform the owner. "P krub, I will ask P' to keep the guitar first. We will get it back maybe in the evening. At what time does P' close the shop?"
"Around 9 pm. And if you can't make it, you can just call P' at this number."
"Krub." I pick up the business card he gives me. I wait until Zon does the payment and we gradually step out from the shop together.
"At what time will the movie be showing, you think?" Zon lifts up his head, looking at the cinema app with me.
"Which movie do you want to watch?"
"This one." Zon points to the movie he wants to watch. "There's one that will be showing very soon. This one, go on press the buy button through app. I will transfer money to you later on."
"But if we go buy at the counter, I have a discount for the couch seat na." I inform the petite person next to me.
Zon's eyes widen as he stares at me, excited. "Then, go buy at the counter. I never once watched a movie while having a couch seat. Does it come with a blanket?"
"Some places might have, but I don't think this place has it."
"That's fine. It's already nice to sit on the couch. I never dared to buy the one with a couch seat every time I saw its price. It's so damn expensive."
Usually, it would cost around 500 to 700 baht for two couch seats. Of course, that already counts as expensive for students without income, like us.
"You must have regularly watched movies with girls that you got yourself a discount."
"Nope. It's a promotion from all those tickets that I have."
"Ohh." Zon nods before he leads the way into the cinema.
"How about you go buy the popcorn and the drinks na? I will buy the tickets." I tell him because if you compare the two, the price is not much different.
"Hoie, I don't want. How can I pay for something hundreds cheaper than yours?"
"Come on, next time I will buy the popcorn and drinks and you will be the one buying the tickets."
"But, I don't know when I will get to see a movie with you? After we are done with the singing project, I'm afraid that..."
"Zon," I call the petite guy and placed my hand on his head. "Are you going to stop being my friend after the singing project ends?"
"Hoie! No way!"
"Then, why are you worrying about not getting the chance to watch a movie together with me next time? Since we will still be friends, of course there will be chances to watch a movie together."
"Exactly. Then, I will go buy the drinks and popcorn first. You go buy the tickets."
I nod and walk away from Zon in order to buy tickets. In my head, I'm thinking about the previous thing Zon worried about.
Seriously, when he mentioned he doesn't know whether there will be a chance of watching a movie together with me or not, it makes my heart skip a beat, losing it like that.
I know that Zon doesn't think much of it, but I who listened to it, began to wonder when we will no longer meet each other, no longer saying hello or no longer chatting freely like how we did now, it makes me feel terrible.

"Have you got the tickets?" Zon asked as he approached me when I'm done purchasing the tickets.
"Hmm."
"What's wrong? Why are you making such a face?"
And he's really an observance person indeed.
"Nothing, I'm just sleepy."
"Then, you can have a nap inside."
I nod at him before both of us walk inside the cinema. Zon seems so excited with the couch seat that I secretly giggle at the sight.
"It's not funny." He knows the exact reason for my laugh because as soon as he sees my face, he's damn pouting and pushes me with all his might.
"What's not funny?"
"I know a person like you would laugh at me for never sitting on the couch seat, right? Yes! Ever since I was born, I never got the chance to sit on a couch seat."
"I'm not."
"But, I'm not really mad or whatever na because I admit I never sat on this and I will not choose this seat because damn, its price is so expensive. The movie's probably experienced in a similar way, but to spend on some expensive seats like this, I will never do it. If it wasn't due to the discount, I might never sit on it in this life."
"Then, what if you come with a girl?"
"Well, if I have the same discount like you did, I probably choose this seat as well. But if I don't have the discount, I might just choose the normal seat. I'm still studying na Saifah, my family is not that rich. We are middle class and I get monthly pocket money. Every time I ask for more, I will be getting asked over and over what I'm going to do with it. My parents, they teach me and Zol to appreciate the value of money. Therefore, if one wants to date me, that person needs to accept me for how I am. If the person is okay, then it is fine. But if not, then they can just walk away."
Zon responds to me with a realistic perspective which makes me extremely like him and feeling impressed of him even more.
Maybe Zon's viewpoints, which are varied, make me unable to depart myself from the word 'like'.
"So good."
"Huh?"
"Nothing, I'm just thinking that to be like you would be quite good."
"Well, I'm a good guy though." Zon says while raising his eyebrows proudly at me.
"Krub, good guy."
[T/N: The word 'good guy' which is 'kon dee' also means 'darling'.... ARGHHHHH!]
I say this with a gentle tone at the person before me, while I gaze at Zon with boiling emotions deep within me.
In my mind, I would love to say that I like him hundreds of times, but the look in his eyes that he gives me, I can see there's only pleading and begging for me to not say the thought out loud.
In the end, I can only caress Zon's head gently. "The movie has started."
"Hmm" Zon nods and leans against the couch.
Both of us are no longer saying anything. We look directly at the huge screen before our eyes. I have no clue what Zon is thinking. Is there any thought of me whilst he continues watching? But it's fine. There's no one that knows what will happen in the future.
I'm not sure whether I can hold this erupting feeling which is waiting to explode any day, for long.
In the end, if I can endure, I will continue to do so... holding in the feeling of liking him so deeply just to myself, just for me alone, that's enough.
(Fall)
"Hmm?" I glance at the person who, out of the blue, is letting his head rest on my shoulder.
The movie which has been played for nearly an hour right now, has changed to the moment of watching the person next to me instead.
"Zon?"
"..."
"What are you up to? Who was the person that was eager to watch a movie?"
He doesn't answer. Instead, he shifts his face closer to my neck compared to before. I beam and decide to caress his head lovingly.
I like you na Zon... I really like you.
