Chapter 22
I struggled to get to sleep, mostly because I could feel Nate's hard erection in my back. Around 30 minutes after we laid on his bed he had gone into the bathroom for a long time. I bit my lip as I knew what he was doing there.
Now when I felt him leave the bed, removing his arms around my waist I was confused. I slowly got up from the bed to find Nate sitting down on the sofa. A glass of water on the table in front of him.
I left the room wearing just a long black t-shirt and my panties. I brought clothes to wear tonight but I much preferred to wear one of his shirts.
"Nate come back to bed" I said quietly as I rubbed my eyes. Nate turned his head to stare at me, a ghost of a smile on his lips.
"I will, I just need a moment" he said turning his head back to face outside. He wasn't looking at anything in particular, just watching the trees move with the wind. The sky looked dark, matching Nate's mood coincidently.
I looked over and grabbed a soft blanket. I sat next to Nate pulling the blanket over the both of us to keep us warm. "you can go back to sleep Loretta" he chuckled as I rest my head on his shoulder.
"I came here for you not your bed Nate" I said with a certain sass to my words. I felt his body vibrate as he let out a chuckle.
I wanted to ask him so many questions but if he wanted, he would tell me what's going on in that mind of his. I was pretty contempt in just sitting here with Nate. Listening to the wind from outside, the sound of the rain hitting the window. It was soothing.
"oh, sorry kids I was just coming in for a drink" I raised my eyes to see Michael standing in the doorway. He definitely didn't expect to see me and Nate out here. No doubt the whole family thought we were doing something a little more r rated.
Michael walked towards the kitchen, pouring himself some juice from the fridge.
"couldn't sleep either" Nate asked him. Michael smiled softly. "it's not surprising really, that room just isn't the same" he replies walking to join us in the lounge.
I had to smile when Nate moved the blanket to further cover my legs.
"I'm sorry if I brought pain to both of you. If I had known how badly this would affect you, I would have had the party somewhere else" I confessed sadly. It was a good idea but now when I see two grown men upset over a house. It's not so appealing.
Michael frowned deeply. "Don't be silly Loretta, it was my idea anyway. I don't hate it here, but it just makes me remember her which really isn't a bad thing" Michael says reassuring me.
I felt Nate squeeze my thigh. "Being honest, I think Ally would be angry at us for not thinking about her enough" he added. I bit my lip, "I'm sure she could never be angry about that" I said.
Nate chuckled behind me. "you don't know my mother, she loved to get angry at the smallest things. Have my father scared shitless" Nate said smirking over at Michael who only nodded his head agreeing.
"that's right, anyways I should leave and get some sleep and son" He stopped moving as he looked at Nate.
"for the love of god get some fucking sleep" I smiled as Michael directed his eyes at Nate, playing that father figure what was his son and not some rich brooding man.
"You hear that Natey, get some sleep" I said as I started to get up from the sofa so that we could finally go back to bed. Keeping secrets from the man that lives in your thoughts is exhausting enough.
I was roughly yanked back down straight onto his lap. "what the fuck did you just call me" he growled out.
I realised that I had given him a nickname, not my finest moment obviously but it kind of just slipped out.
"Natey, what you don't like that one" I joked caressing his jaw. I could feel light stubble coming up to the surface.
Nate tightened his hold on my waist and pushed me to the end of the sofa. I watched him climb up towards me and push my head up exposing my neck to him.
"call me that again and I will have you turned over counting to 5 as I spank that ass you hear me" instantly I wanted him to do exactly that. But I had to control myself because I knew that if I teased him, he wouldn't think twice before doing it.
I mumble a quick yes and rested my head on one of the pillows. I hummed with pleasure as Nate's hands smoothed along my skin. His hand creeping beneath his t-shirt which I was wearing.
I quickly grabbed his arm before he could reach my nipples which were obviously hard underneath this shirt. "we should really get some sleep" I said even though I desperately wanted his to carry on and to feel his fingers brushing over my nipples.
"sleep is the last thing on my mind right now Loretta" he groaned as he turned and sat up. I couldn't help but blush as he stared at me, he wanted to do so much more. I could see it in his eyes.
"but fine, let's go to bed" he said reluctantly. Nate stood up and pulled my hand. I was planning on walking on my own, but Nate somehow thought I needed assistance with that and carried me all the way to his room again.
The second I was dropped onto the bed I kicked him in the leg for dropping me carelessly causing me to bounce a little. He only smirked and grabbed my legs bringing them together before turning my body over onto my stomach.
His hand came down and slapped me on my ass. "want to try that again" he asked rhetorically.
"No" I sullenly said reaching up and dragging my body back to the position I was in previously. It wasn't long before Nate joined me in bed. His hands finding my hips and pinning me against his.
It didn't take long for me to fall asleep again, I just hoped that Nate was able to as well.
I woke up at around 9 in the morning to the sounds of laughter not far from this room. I turned over and expected to see Nate laying down next to me, but it was empty. I wasn't mad, I knew that Nate would want to entertain his family downstairs.
I checked my phone and found some messages from my mother. She wanted to check if me and Nate were okay after last night. My parents must have headed home and not stayed over. I mean the house was big enough and had enough rooms to accommodate my family and Nate's.
I texted her back and let her know I would come to the hotel later. I sat up in bed and looked for my bag, I would probably get myself in some serious trouble if I just walked down in his t-shirt so I grabbed a pair of joggers and put my hair up into a ponytail.
When I entered the kitchen, I saw a big spread of breakfast laid out on the table. "good morning sleepy head, did you have a nice sleep" George says walking up and wearing a smirk.
"surprisingly didn't hear any screams from this side of the house last night" he said in a lower voice. No doubt George knows that we didn't get into its last night.
I'm actually glad we didn't. if there was a possibility that Michael and his sisters would hear us last night, I would literally never show my face again. That would just top all of the embarrassing things I have done.
"I chickened out, not like that surprises you" I said walking further into the kitchen and grabbing a glass of fresh orange juice that Kyle had just poured and handed to me.
The deep laughter of Nate had me turning in the other direction. Tammy was whispering something into his ear that had him literally doubling over.
I wasn't sure if Nate got nearly as enough sleep, but he seemed alive and fully awake.
I spotted Andrea outside on the patio soaking in the gorgeous sun. I walked past everyone and went to join her only for my arm to be pulled back, Nate grabbed my arm and brought me to his side. His lips found mine instantly, kissing me softly. "morning "he said deeply. Tammy shut up immediately as Nate's attention was now on me.
Although the look he was giving me wasn't a happy one.
"were you seriously going to walk past me without talking to me first" he asked me, his tone accusing me.
Seriously.
"Try waking up alone Nate" I said back using the same tone.
Two can play at this game.
I heard Tammy giggle from beside me. I removed my arm from his grasp and carried on walking outside to meet Andrea. I didn't bother looking back at Nate, that would seriously be the wrong this to do.
Andrea grinned at me when she saw me sit down next to her. She was reading a book whilst picking at a large plate of fruit. She pushed it over to me. "I wanted to ask you something, but I didn't want to do it with everyone around" I started by saying to Andrea once I swallowed a piece of mango.
"you know, don't you?" she asked, his hand reaching for her glass of juice. I could hear the slight stutter in her voice.
All through yesterday I would see Andrea take her glass of wine and either pour it down the sink or just leave it untouched.
"are you pregnant?" I asked her. Andrea sighed deeply and leant back in her chair. She checked to see if anyone was near that could hear us. "yeah I think I am" she said a small sigh on her lips. This wasn't the usual reaction when you find out you are pregnant.
She leant in closer to me. "I don't know if Nate told you before, but I've had two miscarriages. I don't want to get my hopes up to lose another baby" she said sadly. I could see the pain in her eyes.
"well your secret is safe with me. But congratulations I really hope that this time is your time. After seeing you yesterday with my brother I can already tell that you're going to be an amazing mother" I said quietly.
She placed her hand over mine. "Thank you, Loretta, before I doubted my nephews' taste in women but now he's seriously redeemed himself" she said smiling, I couldn't help but smile with her. I was relieved that they liked me.
Taking into consideration when me and Nate have gone through, I was worried that I would have to deal with his family no liking me. But they all seemed open to not judging me and welcoming me.
After breakfast I headed back to Nate's room to pack my things so that I could go to the Nevada. I arrived just in time to see Nate walking from the bathroom, wearing his work suit. His hair still wet from the shower he took.
I walked up to him and kissed his lips softly. Nate dropped the towel on the bed and caressed my hips as he kissed me back. My fingers pushed up against his chest as he pressed harder onto my lips before moving them down my neck.
I let out a moan which led Nate to grab my hips roughly. "You're working again?" I pouted, annoyed that he was going to be gone all day again.
Nate chuckled finally pulling away from me. "only for a few hours Amore, do you want to drive with me, I can drop you off at home before heading to work" he said pushing my hair behind my ear.
"can you take me to the Nevada" I asked him. Nate smiled and kissed me softly. "of course, meet me downstairs when you're done and we can start driving" he said as he bent down and pulled a towel out for me, motioning to the shower.
I kissed him one more time before walking into the bathroom.
