Louis, Clem and AJ all walked over towards the benches that they had had breakfast at. Louis waved at Violet who was talking to Tenn and then to Marlon who had just come out of the admin building. Both Violet and Marlon knew why he waved at them, so they walked over to the bench and sat opposite Clem, Louis and AJ.
"What's the game this morning Lou?" Said Marlon repeating what he had asked the previous night.
"Truth or dare!" said Louis dramatically.
Louis pulled a deck of dirty cards out of one of the pockets in his trench coat. Everyone looked confused.
"Okay Louis, explain the rules," Violet said.
"Rules? It's truth or dare. y'know you eit-" Louis said.
"There are no cards in truth or dare." Clem pointed out.
"Oh right, well, everyone draws a card and the highest card asks the lowest card either a truth or dare," Louis explained.
Louis dished out the deck of cards face down to all six players. Louis drew one of his cards from the top, everyone else did the same.
Louis got an 8.
Violet got a Jack.
Clem got an 8.
AJ got a 3.
Tenn got a 5.
Marlon got a 7.
Violet Won and AJ lost.
"I choose truth," AJ said.
"Hmmm... What's the most embarrassing thing that Clem's done while you were there... or tell us something embarrassing about her." Violet said.
"Oh erm. Well..." He looked over at Clem mischievously. "She sometimes sleeptalks."
"AJ!" Clem shouted. "I don't, I honestly don't."
Everyone chuckled and Louis said: "Don't worry, It's natural to talk in your sleep. Everyone does it, well only sometimes."
She smiled at him.
He winked and smiled back.
"Okay! Onto round two." Louis said suddenly.
Everyone flipped their cards over.
Louis got a King.
Violet got a 6.
Clem got a 2.
AJ got a King.
Tenn got a 6.
Marlon got an Ace.
Marlon won and Clem lost.
"Gimmie a dare," Clem said confidently.
"Pft...erm... I dare you...no." Marlon started. "I dare you to take off your hat for the whole game."
"Lame!" Louis said, but clem still took off her hat.
Louis sighed but still made sure to say. "You look nice without your hat on."
Clem blushed. Violet glared jealously at them and said. "When you two have finished flirting could we start the next round?"
They all turned over the top cards from their decks.
Louis got a 4.
Violet got a 6 again.
Clem got a 9.
AJ got an 8.
Tenn got a 6 again.
Marlon got a 6.
Clem won and Louis lost.
"Since it's just lying around thanks to Marlon, I dare you to wear my hat and go up to... Aasim and impersonate me."
"Do I have to do it in front of Mr Flat Tire?" Louis whined.
"Yes, or your forfeit wi-" Clem started.
"Alright, I'll do it, just don't get offended" Louis said.
"Oh no," Clem said. "This was a bad idea."
He smiled cheekily and put on her old and worn-out hat. It didn't fit on his head because of his dreadlocks so he just sort of laid on top of his hair. Louis got up from the bench and walked over to Aasim. He crouched slightly, impersonating her height. Clem frowned and thought to herself: 'Am I really that small?'
He put on a shrill voice that sounded nothing like Clem's.
"HEy aaSIm, my NAmE IS ClEMEntIne." Louis said. Everyone cringed.
"Hello Louis, can you please go away." Aasim said, "I've got work to do."
"NOOOO!" Louis screeched, "mY NAme IS CleMMytine."
Aasim stared. "That's great," Aasim said sarcastically. He walked away leaving Louis alone. Louis walked back to the bench laughing. Everyone who was playing the game was laughing, Louis took his seat at the bench and took Clem's hat off.
"Oh, and by the way Louis, you need to keep it on for the rest of the game," Clem added.
"What?" Louis asked.
"You heard," Clem said.
"Alright then," Louis said. "I can do that."
"Next game?" Clem asked.
"Next game," Louis replied.
Everyone turned over the top cards on their deck of cards.
Louis got a 6.
Violet got a Queen.
Clem got a 5.
AJ got a 5.
Tenn got a King.
Marlon got a 4.
Tenn won and Marlon lost.
"Truth," Marlon said.
Tenn thought to himself and quickly looked around, then asked Marlon. "Do you have feelings for Brody?"
Marlon shuffled in his seat and scratched his neck. Louis noticed that he was uncomfortable talking about it in front of everyone at the table so he said. "This is taking too long, can we just go onto the next round?"
Marlon smiled at Louis gratefully and mouthed "Thanks.". Once again everyone turned over their cards.
Louis got a 6.
Violet got a 2.
Clem got an 8.
AJ got a 10.
Tenn got a 10.
Marlon got a Queen.
Marlon won and Violet lost.
"Ask a Truth," Violet said.
"Tell us a secret that you've kept from us but, only something you feel comfortable with telling us."
"Do you know the headmaster's old gramophone? Well Minnie and I used to put on records and dance together, we never told you because she didn't want other people to know, but she's gone now..." Said Violet trying her best not to cry.
Everyone stayed quiet.
"She sounds like a great person, I wish that I could've met her," Clem said to Violet.
Violet smiled. "She was a great person, I think you would be good friends."
"Next round!" Shouted AJ suddenly.Louis got a Queen.
Violet got a 6.
Clem got a 2.
AJ got a 6.
Tenn got an 8.
Marlon got a 5.
Louis won and Clem lost.
"Oh no, give me a truth." Clem sighed.
"You've been here for a day or two, would say that that's enough time to develop feelings for someone, SO CLEM... anyone here that you like-like?" Louis asked.
"Um.. Give me a dare," Clem said worriedly.
"You're making this too easy for me Clemster." Louis Chuckled.
"What?" Clementine asked confused.
"I dare you to tell me if there is anyone here that you like-like." Louis smiled.
"Wha... no, why would you think-, no, I don't." Clem stumbled over her words.
Louis smirked at her distress. "Don't worry you don't have to answer, we should probably go and do our work now."
Everyone except for Clementine, AJ and Marlon got up and left the bench.
"Who are you guys going with?" Marlon questioned, "You need to decide, like, now because we're about to get to work."
"I think we'll go fishing with Violet and Brody," Clementine concluded. She only wanted to go fishing because she was so embarrassed in front of Louis because of her stuttering during the game.
"Hm... I thought that you would have gone with Louis." Marlon teased.
"Wha-, what are you talking about?" Clem asked trying to sound confused.
Marlon raised an eyebrow. Clem scratched the back of her neck. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me," Marlon reassured.
