your pov :
the alarm clock on my bedside table read 2:03am. it had been storming for the better part of an hour and the thunder had started to get to me.
joji, my boyfriend, had been on tour for the past month and sleeping was already hard enough without him, and the storm wasn't exactly helping the situation
i thought about calling him, god i wanted to so badly, but what if he sleeping? i know he never gets much sleep on tour and who am i to disrupt him at any chance he gets to relax?

i picked up my phone to a text from joj
joji <3
i heard it was raining out in brooklyn, everything okay?
it's hard to sleep, could you call me please?
incoming call from joji <3
i smiled to myself and picked up the phone to hear joji on the other line, "hey princess" i gave him a quiet "hi" back and he told me about his day in attempt to distract me, but all i could focus on was the harsh rain beating on the window.
joji could tell that i wasn't listening, "are the curtains open, hun?" "mhm", i replied, confused as to why that would matter
the phone was silent for a few seconds and then joji spoke softly, "count the raindrops, don't focus on the sound, focus on counting them as they hit the window", "okay" i replied softly
i began counting them aloud and my voice slowly became sleepier and sleepier.
"goodnight princess, i love you.", joji spoke into the phone before hanging up after he knew i had completely fallen asleep
~ this was kind of a shorter one, i promise i'll do better but i decided to start this book with some fluff & i hope u enjoyed, babes and ofc leave any requests <3
