(CHAPTER SIX)

Selena sat on the kitchen counter scrolling through photo's her and John B took grinning at each one. Wheezie suddenly came in giving her a confused look
"Why aren't you dressed?" She asked
"Because I'm not going."
"Why, you've been talking about midsummers all year."
"Well I don't wanna go now, I don't even have a date." Then Rose walked with her hot pink flowy dress
"Selena says she's not going." Wheezie told her mom
"The hell she isn't. Your dad is being Coordinated as guardian of Knights of the Rhododendron. You're going." Rose scoffed
" you're not my mother, I don't have to do what you tell me." Selena snapped back
"Whatever, your daughter says she isn't going." Rose told Ward who came in with Sarah
"Why aren't you going?" Sarah asked putting on her earring
"Sarah, wheezie go, let me talk to her." Ward said to the sisters "What's going on?" He asked folding his sleeve's
"I honestly don't feel like going to a party where I 1: don't even have a date to go with. and 2: is filled with snobby rich people who probably don't even care that I'm there. So what's the point." She replied
"C'mon sweetheart, this is a very important night for me and I really want you to be there. Sarah's going, it will be fun you can dance around with her or even make new friends. It will be fine just come, do it for me." He begged and Selena rolled her eye's finally giving in
"Fine." She sighed walking up to her room to get the dress she was suppose to wear. She looked at the silk dress for a while before groaning and slipping it on, it fit way better then expected showing all her curves and everything.
She liked it.
She looked for her flower crown along with a few necklace's and earrings. Once she was done she put on little make up, just some mascara, blush and lipgloss. She looked in the mirror for a while and decided she was done, she heard the honking of a car and ran down the stairs to her driveway where her family was waiting.
She got in besides Sarah and off they went to midsummers.
"Well look at you." Sarah teased
"Oh shut up." Selena giggled
"You look very beautiful, aren't you glad you came." Ward said
"I guess." She muttered
Once the family arrived at midsummers they had to do this dramatic entrance where everyone would clap and out came the Cameron's. Selena thought it was stupid but the words of her father echoed through her head
It will be fine, just come. Do it for me
She hooked onto Sarah arm and put on a fake smile walking out of the room. Everyone was clapping and congratulating her dad but Selena felt someone's glare, she looked up and saw Kiara giving her a death glare but she shrugged it off like it was nothing.
"Hey I waited on you." Topper suddenly said to Sarah
"I'm gonna go." Selena said not wanting to listen to the couples arguement. She looked around trying to see if she could find something to do but she felt so out of place.
She decided to go find Sarah to see if the twins could cause some mischief at the fancy event.
Selena not being surprised found Sarah in the alcohol area and decided to get a drink herself. The 2 dance and giggled till the sun fully set and the sky began to turn dark blue.
Sarah left to go get another drink which left Selena dancing with her sister, Wheezie. The 2 sisters laughed at each other realizing there dance game want really all that good.
Selena felt a tap on her shoulder and turn her head to see a mop of blonde hair dancing along with her while holding piece of paper in his hand
"Got a note, from Vlad." He said pressing his fingers to his lips signaling for her to be quiet.
"From Vlad?" She asked and he nodded giving the note to the girl who walked away to somewhere more private. She opened up the folded note and it read:
Meet me at the bag drop

She bit her a lip a wide grin spreading around her face, she hid the note and walked off to the location the boy asked her to be at.
She noticed the familiar mop of brown hair looking off in the distance as she slowly emerged from the shadows
"Vlad." She called out in a soft tone and he turned around with a smile "hey."
"Wow um...you look...um beautiful." He stuttered embracing the girl in a hug. Onc she pulled away she began rambling about how she had to sneak in the other day
"That's great but I gotta tell you something." He interrupted the girl
"Okay."
"I found.....the gold." He whispered and Selena's eye's widened
"You found it!"
"Yeah, and you're not gonna where it is."
"Where."
"It's at TannyHill."
"Wait what!" She said way louder then expected
"Shh"
"Sorry, what." She said quieter
" look, I got the letter translated and I—I need the plat map. Do you know what a plat map is?"
"Yes a I know what a plat map is."
" it's like a blueprint of Tannyhill. It's got all the information on it, it's in your dad office. And if I get in your dads office, I can get the gold—"
"John B I said I know what a plat map is." She said connecting his plump lips onto hers, she smiled into the kiss as he wrapped his arms wrapped around her waist.
"Hey Sarah is that you!?" Toppers voice asked from afar
"Shit get down." She whispered to the boy who slowly sneaked away as she readjusted her dress.
"Meet me at the hawks nest at midnight, bring the map." He whispered and she nodded in response
"Fuck." She muttered walking away towards the blonde
"Sup topper." She fake smiled
"Selena, what are you doing out here?" He asked
"Oh and Lily told me she had some hidden vodka or something.
"Oh really?" He raised a brow
"Yeah. couldn't found though so, I'll just be going." She chuckled but was stopped by topper jumping in front of her
"Is that who you were talking to over there?"
"What do you mean, why do you even care?"
"Was I just seeing things. I thought, like, I don't know. Watching you have a conversation over there."
"I was just talking to some people from the party, topper calm down." She scoffed walking past him back to the dance floor.
"Hey Lena, you alright?" Ward asked her clearly seeing her bad mood
"Oh, yeah, yeah fine just peachy." She smiled
"Why don't you come have a little
Dance with me." He Said placing the drink down on a waiters tray
"No, I'm good." He declined
"Oh, c'mon I just won an award and don't even get a dance with my daughter." He frowned and she rolled her eyes
"Fine." She smiled
Grabbing his hand and having a quick dance with her father, her bad mood slowly drifted away as the sudden shouting of a boy was heard coming from behind her
She turned around to be met with a mischievous blonde who's getting carried away by security. He was struggling to get out of the man's grip until Kiara shouted for him to 'let him go'
"Your can't just book him, I invited him here, I'm a member of this club." She shouted As JJ pulled away from the mans grip.
JJ began shouting things at the Pogue's causing a huge grin to appear on Selena's face. In that moment she really wanted to be a Pogue.

Kiara was absolutely furious that John B let a kook inside of their little treasure hunt.
" just because you hate zero doesn't mean you have to hate Selena to." John B said to the girl
"I know her, she's just as bad as her sister." Kiara shouted " she's only looking for attention."
" her brother did beat pope with a golf club." JJ muttered
" but she helped me and she paid for the groceries." Pope argued
"Oh so know you're taking her side." Kiara asked Pope
"What, I never said that." Pope furrowed his brows
"Selena and Rafe are 2 different people." John B shouted back
"Listen to me! Whatever we have, she's gonna try to take." Kiara yelled

Selena sneaked inside her fathers office and search through some draws till she found what she was looking for.
"What are you doing?" Ward suddenly said catching the girl of guard.
" just getting an old copy of the plat maps." She replied
"A plat map?" He asked raising a brow a small chuckle leaving his lips "of Tannyhill?"
"Yeah."
" you never wanted to see those things when I tried showing them to you."
"Well since then, I have become appreciative of this beautiful property that we call home, and they're so beautiful I thought maybe I can get them hung and framed in my room."
"Okay, come on, Selena, seriously. What is this, a school thing?"
"No it's July." She smiled
"A friend thing?"
"No, but it might be a boy thing." She said hesitantly
"A boy thing?" He scoffed
" he's a real go-getter. I think you'll like him." She smiled
" Who even is this mystery history buff? Is he a cartographer or something"
" well I could tell you, but then he wouldn't be mystery, would he?" She said opening the door leaving the room but came back
"Hey."
"Yeah."
"Make good choices."
"You know it." She winked
"Be careful with that."
"Promise." She gave the paper a kiss "thank, your that best." She walked out but bumped into Wheezie
"Where are you going?" She asked
"Out, it's nothing just a friend thing." She smiled
"Can I sleep in your room!" She said Excitingly
"Sure, yeah go ahead kid. But let's keep this between me and you alright?" She smiled giving her kiss on the head "bye."
"Bye."
Selena ran down the stairs holding her dress in one had makings sure she doesn't slip. The adrenaline inside her body was skyrocketing through the roof. She got inside her car and headed towards the Hawks nest, she parked and made her way up the tall structure as Lightning Softly struck in the background.
She rested her hands on the worn out wood waiting for her Knight in shining armor to come for her. Her gold dress flowed in the wind as she waited patiently for the boy, a huge grin grew on her face as footsteps made there way towards the girl and she turned around to see the one and only John B.
"Hi, I got the map. Wanna see?" She said finally letting go of the breath she didn't realized she had held in
"Holy shit, Holy hell." He gasped slightly in shock
" did you tell your crew you were here with me?" She asked
"Did you?"
"No. I will, though. I don't care." She smiled till a loud boom of the thunder echoed through the island caused her to flinch and fall into the arms of the boy.
"You okay?" He asked holding her tight
"Yeah, what are we doing up here." She giggled
"I have no idea, you wanna go down."
"No"
"Neither do I." He placed his hand on her cheek connect there lips into a desperate but soft kiss. Butterfly flapped there wings inside the stomach of Selena as they kissed for the 3rd time
"Are kidding me Selena!" Topper muttered causing the 2 to pull away in surprise
"Topper, what the hell are you doing here!" She shouted
"At of all people a Pogue! Your stupid fucking whore you know that!" He shouted at the girl who was disgusted by the boys actions
"Really, a whore, seriously topper!" She snapped back furious
"Yeah."
"Topper, stop man." John B placed his hand on his chest keeping a barrier between Selena and topper.
"You stop man. You don't wanna do this." He shoved away
"Hey, hey." John B tried once again to calm the manic
"Tell him to back off, or else I will be his fucking ass." Topper spoke over his gritted teeth
"Just walk man, go home, go home."
"You know what I'm gonna do, i'm gonna drown you like your old man."
"Topper seriously stop get out of here." Selena Interfered the argument
"Tell your bitch boyfriend to back off, so me and you can have a talk." He said over the loud thunder
"She doesn't want to." John B protested
"What did I tell you man!" Topper yelled shoving the boy back hard enough for John B to break the wooden railing and fall to the sand below.
"John B, oh my god! Topper what did you do!" She said her eye's wide and her heart beating out of her chest.
"I barely touched him, the railing must've been rotten, I didn't do anything." Topper panicked as the girl rushed down the stairs.
"No! John B! John B." She yelled crouching down next to his body. Soft groans came out of his mouth as his vision was blurry and excruciating pain went to his wrist.
"Please, open your eye's. John B." She whispered tears running down her cheek "somebody help! Somebody, please, help." She shouted at the top of her lungs
"It's gonna be okay, just stay with me, keep your eye's on me." She panicked
"Sarah what happened." Pope asked approaching the 2 teens
" I don't know what to do, he needs help, topper shoved him." She sobbed "just please please get help I don't care who just help him."
"Go! Go!" JJ yelled at the dark-skinned boy
"Pope hurry!" Kiara added
"John B stay with me, please don't leave me." She gave him a peck on the lips holding his head to her chest.
"Don't go, please, I need you."
