I rushed to the rotted oak closet and Pried open it's molded doors. "I-I'll find y-you" her voice sounded meters from behind me, I was now in the closet. I stood holding my breath behind the old doors. I could hear the muffled hoof steps drawing farther from the closet, now they were a small 'cla-clak,cla-clak'. i knew it might pull it's attention to my hiding spot, but I creaked the doors open a tad. my eyes darted around the dusty room. nothing. absolutely nothing, no monster in sight. "Must be clear" I mumbled as I re-lit my lantern and walked out of my safety-net. My gaze drew me to an old desk with a letter on it,
