ash is quiet but the truth is, he loves to talk.. once he feels comfortable and safe he could talk your ear off forever, with only the fear of annoyance or embarrassment to stop him. he'd give his sweetest words like kisses, soft and tender, hidden in moments of silence, pressed between his lips. he used to talk to victoria constantly, long nights in eachothers rooms, whispered glances in the hallways, secret words hidden in a new story or artwork one of them had just finished. they talked even more once he left for the americas, pages and pages written and sent in graceful cursive. when he'd entered valhalla he closed off, returned to his ways before victoria, the way he was with his parents, and his voice grew dry with lack of use. when alayna came he still didnt talk much, but he listened, he loved to hear her voice, and when he did talk she always smiled and encouraged him to tell more. when winnie came she was sweet enough but she had a tendency to poke fun, at the long periods of silence before he spoke, while he gathered his thoughts, how he furrowed his brown in concentration before some words, how his vocabulary was littered with old phrases and odd speech patterns, picked up from the 18th century,, he started to close off again, speaking less, and instead reading more and more modern literature, studying the new words and the way the world changed, practicing before a mirror for hours during the day, and when olly finally came, he found his voice again, and was able to speak smoothly. olly was different than anyone else, he felt safe and comfortable and loved. with olly, words would flow like honey from his lips, and late at night as they lie there together, sometimes, when he thought olly was asleep he'd whisper bits of poetry into his ears. and when he kissed him he'd mumble words of sugar into his lips. over time, they became more and more common as he fell more and more for olly. he had found his voice and was never going to let it go again
okay and heres the random ramble that lead to this whole thing
it would just be soft and gentle and he would stumble a lot and stutter a little but the second hes alone with olly his words would flow like honey from he lips, and when hes with nimmy he rambles, smooth silky and never ending. and late at night, sometimes, when he thinks olly is asleep he'll whisper bits of poetry into his ears. and when he writes he mumbles the words aloud to himself, so, if you just so happen to be paying very close attention you might be able to hear what he's written.
