2 days later
Jen : Hey honey.
Brad holds the phone up to his ear while taking a left turn as he's on his way to Angelina's house.
Brad : I was just calling to tell you that I'm on my way over to pick up the kids now... so I'm thinking of telling her.
Jen : Really?
Brad : Yeah. Are you surprised?
Jen : Well, I just thought you'd wait until the last minute like you always do. I wasn't expecting you to do it so soon...
Brad : You don't want me to tell her today? Should I wait?
Even though this "keeping it secret" thing has been fun, Jen knows letting Angelina know is the right thing to do.
That's what she wish Brad would have done when he started dating her after the two of them broke up... considering how humiliating it was that the media and the rest of the world found out before her.
She doesn't want that to happen to Angelina.
Jen : No. I want you to tell her.
Brad : Great, cause I'm pulling up to her house now.
Jen : Oh, okay. Good luck.
A few minutes later :
Brad : How have they been?
Angelina : Good. We've mostly just been home the last couple of weeks.
He takes his hat off, as he knows she'd always ask him to do that whenever he was inside.
Angelina : They're upstairs, I'll go get them.
Realizing this has to happen now, he grabs her arm stopping her.
Brad : Wait... I actually need to talk to you about something.
Raising her brow, she turns to him not having any idea what's about to hit her.
Angelina : What?
Brad : Should we sit down maybe?
Angelina : Is something wrong? Has something happened?
Brad : No, nothing like that.
Angelina : Just tell me.
He looks down at his feet, being nervous of how she's going to react.
Will she tell the kids right away? He'd like to do that himself as he doesn't know if they're ready for such a big change.
Angelina : Have you met someone?
Lifting his head, he can tell by her voice that she hopes he'll say no.
Angelina : Brad?
Brad : Well... yeah.
She breathes in before continuing.
Angelina : Alia?
Brad : No, no. We're just friends.
Angelina : Then who? I don't have all day Brad.
He looks down at his feet once again, before finally deciding to just tell her.
Brad : It's Jen.
Angelina : Jen who?
He doesn't say anything, knowing she knows who he's talking about.
She just doesn't want to believe it.
Angelina : No...
Starting to walk around the hallway anxiously, she lays her head in her hands.
Angelina : Aniston. Your ex wife?
Brad : Angie...
Angelina : Have you completely lost your mind!?
Angelina raises her voice, making Brad fear the kids will hear that something's going on.
Angelina : How!?
Brad : Calm down. I don't want the kids to hear.
Angelina : Calm down? How am I supposed to be calm about this?
A few seconds go by before she continues.
Angelina : How long has this been going on?
Brad : I guess a few months now...
Angelina : Have you slept with her?
Angelina stares at him, yet again hoping the answer will be no.
But he nods, making her take a few steps back, not wanting to be close to him.
Knox : Mom! Is dad here yet?
Suddenly, Knox comes running down the stairs with Vivienne behind him.
Knox : Dad!
Angelina wraps her arm around Knox while trying to act as normal as possible.
Brad : Hey buddy.
There's an awkward silence before Angelina finally says something again.
Angelina : Okay, dad will take you guys now... will you go get Zahara, Knox?
Brad : Where's Shiloh?
Angelina : She's at a sleepover. Like I told you last week...
The kids run up the stairs getting their sister, leaving Angelina and Brad alone again.
Angelina : Brad?
She moves closer, to whisper in his ear.
Angelina : Is she gonna meet them?
Brad : I... we haven't talked about that yet, but I assume she'll want to soon.
Angelina : Will you let me know?
He nods, feeling a little bad as he can tell this will take her some getting used to.
2 hours later, at Brad's house :
Brad : Guys! I'm gonna order a pizza, I'll be right outside.
He leaves the kids in the living room, while walking out the door to call "Pizza Hut".
But he's also calling Jen.
Jen : Hey.
Brad : Hey baby. We just got home.
Jen : How'd it go?
He takes a deep breath, before telling her.
Jen : Did she take it well?
Brad : She... was a little shocked, but I don't really know how she feels. We didn't get much time to talk before she wanted me out.
Jen : So she didn't take it well.
Brad : She asked if we had slept together.
Jen's face goes red while she's walking around in Court's backyard with the phone to her ear.
Jen : Really? What'd you say?
Brad : I said... every day.
Jen : What?!
Brad : I'm kidding. I just nodded.
Jen : Oh.
Brad : Its alright. I'll call her tonight, hopefully she's had some time digest it.
A few minutes later at Court's house :
Jen : Courteney!
Court : In here!
Jen rushes over to the kitchen, where she finds Court making a green juice.
She can tell by the look on Jen's face that's something's going on.
Court : What honey?
Jen : He told Angelina. Just now.
Court : Oh. Really?
Jen sits down on one of the stools breathing out, letting Courteney know this is something that's stressing her out.
Courteney : How did she react?
Jen : Well... apparently she asked if we had slept together.
Courteney laughs, obviously knowing the answer to the question.
Jen : Court...
Courteney : Sorry.
She puts a hand on her back, reassuring her that everything's gonna be fine.
Courteney : She probably just need some time adjusting honey.
Jen : I guess.
