Vlad P.O.V
"Please, leave my family alone." The child whispers, before her eyes fall closed.
My men are immediately in action, and I carry Emmalin to our clinic. The doctor raises an eyebrow, before noticing her leg.
"Place her on the table, and wait outside." He orders and I comply.
This little girl, who knew about me wanting her dead in order to weaken her family, left because she loved them so much. Not only that, but after know I want her dead, she still pushed me out of the way, taking the bullet herself. All for her family. Emmalin Folliero is the purest heart I've ever seen.
"We are done harming the Folliero family. Leave them alone completely." I order Adam, who nods. Sighing, I take out my phone, and call her brother, Giovanni. I know the oldest two are injured.
"What." He snaps as soon as he answers.
"It's Vlad." There is silence on the other end, and I know he's leaving the building, judging from the sound of cars.
"Where. Is. She." He growls.
"She came to us. Saying she couldn't see any of you hurt anymore. Your sister is an extraordinary little girl. Because of her, I am completely withdrawing any previous disagreements between our families."
"Where is she right now?"
"Here. I need you to come get her. I promise, this is not a trap. Your sister has been injured. I'll send you the location." I hang up before he can say anything else. I owe this little girl my life, and whatever she, or her family needs for here on, I will provide for them. I will forever be in her debt.
Giovanni P.O.V
He hangs up, and I rush back into the hospital, where Enzo is pacing the waiting room, and Sofie is asleep in Luca's arms.
"We need to go. Now."
"What? Did you find her? Where is she?" Enzo looks behind me, and I shake my head, pointing to Sofie.
"I'll ask aunt Ivy to watch her." As soon a we get in the car, I explain everything to the two of them.
"Could this be a trap?" Luca asks, and I shake my head.
"I'm pretty sure it was genuine. Whatever Emma did, has made him want to become allies with us. Now I just need to find out what. Call Nicholas, and tell him the situation." We pull up at the address, and Vlad is already waiting for us outside.
"Come inside, she should be up soon." He leads us to their clinic, and I gasp, seeing my sister with an IV in her arm, and her leg in a cast.
"What happened?" I growl at Vlad. He explains everything, and I have mixed emotions. I want to be angry at my sister for doing something so stupid, but I also want to hold her close, and never let go.
"I owe my life to this girl. Whatever your family needs, we will be happy to help." He says, looking at our sorellina (little sister) with so much adoration.
"We can't say anything about that. our oldest brother, Antonio makes those decisions, but Nicholas will be in contact while Antonio is injured." He nods his head in understanding, and Nick walks in.
"Hey. I heard hat happened." He looks at Emma with admiration on his face, mixed with concern.
"She should be up any second now." I say.
"I'm going to speak with Vlad. You guys stay here." I nod to Nick, and he leaves.
"Gio?" I rush to Emma's side as soon as she opens her eyes. "Where's Vlad? Is he okay? They were trying to kill him, and..." Her breathing picks up.
"Hey, calm down. Vlad is fine, Tesoro. You saved him." She looks at my face, making sure I'm not lying.
"He's going to be alright?"
"Yes, I am. Your heart is too pure for your own good, vozlyublennaya." (sweetheart) Vlad says, walking in with a small smile on his face. Emmalin looks between us with fear on her face.
"YA ne sdelayu yemu bol'no, obeshchayu. YA v dolgu pered toboy Posledneye, chto ya khochu sdelat', eto prichinit' bol' lyubomu, kogo ty lyubish'." (I won't hurt him, I promise. I owe you my life. The last thing I want to do is hurt anyone you love.) She smiles at whatever he said.
"Ty mne nichego ne dolzhen, Vlad. YA nadeyus', chto posle etogo my smozhem stat' druz'yami." (You don't owe me anything, Vlad. I hope we can be friends after this.) She replies, and it's his turn to smile now.
"Of course."
"Hey, you know, it's kind of rude to leave us out of that conversation." Luca says.
"Eh, I kind of found it fun." She giggles. "How's Antonio and Dante?"
"They're fine. It was only a graze, so a couple of stitches." She nods her head.
"Do they know?" She asks, biting her bottom lip.
"No, we didn't want to bother them yet, and now, you get to tell them." I reply with an evil smirk.
"They are not going to be happy." She mumbles.
"No. No they are not."
Emmalin P.O.V
After saying goodbye to Vlad, and getting his number if I ever need anything or just want to talk, Gio drives us home.
"Where were you guys? We came home to no welcome home banner or a... Emmalin? What happened to your leg? Did you fall? Did they get to you?" When he said the last part, there was a murderous look in his eyes.
"Sit down, guys." Gio says, and they each have a seat. Enzo raises an eyebrow at me, silently telling me to explain what happened to the two of them. I take a deep breath in, and begin speaking.
"WhenwegothomeIsnuckoutandwenttotheRussiansbutthePolishtriedtoshootthemandIgotshotinstead.Butnowwe'reallfriendsandeverythingisfine." I say in one breath.
"What?" Dante asks. I sigh and tell them everything, with Gio filling in what happened while I was out.
Dante stares at me blankly, while Antonio does the same.
"Oh, bambina." Dante whispers, pulling me into his lap, and holding me, as if I might disappear if he stops.
"Could everyone please leave us alone for a minute?" Antonio asks, and everyone slowly exits the room. He scrubs his hands across his face, looking exhausted. "Do you have any idea what could have happened?" He asks.
"Yes, I do."
"Do you know how dangerous that was?"
"Yes, I do." He sighs.
"Emmalin, promise me you will never, ever, do anything like that again."
"I can't do that."
"And why not?"
"If any of you are in danger, and there is the slightest chance that I could do something about it, then I will do something about it." He stares at me for a full minute, before letting out a deep breath, and pulling me into his lap, which was weird, considering I was in a huge cast.
"I don't believe it." He mutters.
"What?"
"We've been trying to create an alliance with the Russians for years, getting nowhere. You are there for an hour at most, and managed to get an alliance, and the leader's number."
"He's a really nice man, you know. Behind all the gruffness." He nods his head, yawning a bit. "Antonio, why don't you go sleep for a bit?" He nods again, and Luca helps him to his room.
"So... Did he ground you?" Enzo asks, and I shake my head. "That I so not fair." He whines, making me giggle.
"Emmy! There you are! I was getting super worried about you. Just like everyone else. Oh no, where did you get the ouchie from?" Sofie asks, frowning at my cast.
"I went out, sorry." I say. "Oh, by the way, Dante, could I please use your account to sent a thank you email to Nicholas Donatello? He did sort out all the extra issues with Vlad." I tun to look at Dante, and I notice his proud expression.
"I'm so glad you two aren't brats." He says.
"Umm... Thank you?" He laughs.
"Yes, tesoro, but you should get an email address of your own, you know. It could come in handy." I smile at all my brothers.
"I love you all so much." I say.
"We love you, too, tesoro." (Sweetheart) Luca kisses my head, and we all have a wonderful lunch together. I'm so glad I don't need to be afraid anymore. As long as I have my brothers, nothing can hurt me.
