*3 PM*
Eliza's POV
Today was the day that I was getting tested to see if I am able to get my Angelic Rune one of the most important runes of all the Shadowhunter runes and my entire family from my daddy and papa to my grandma and grandpa is here to support me. Right now I am super nervous and my family can see it.
Dad: Honey, are you okay
Me: I am just nervous
Izzy: We understand honey
Maryse: Yeah, Your Dad and Aunt Izzy were nervous wrecks when they went in for their rune trial
Me: Really
Robert: Yes, especially your dad
Dad: Okay, we don't need to talk about that right now, but don't worry we are here for you
Inquisitor Penhallow: Elizabeth Lightwood-Bane, are you ready for your rune trial
Me: Yes ma'am
Inquisitor Penhallow: Then let's go
Inquisitor Penhallow's POV
Today I am doing a rune trial for Elizabeth Lightwood-Bane she is the daughter of the Head of the New York Institute and the High Warlock of Brooklyn. Me, my husband, and 2 of the members of the council arrive at the New York Institute to get her trail done.
Me: Elizabeth Lightwood-Bane, are you ready for your rune trial
Eliza: Yes ma'am
Me: Then let's go
I take Eliza to the training room to see her in action. Her entire family is also in the training room as well to watch her.
Me: Alright, Elizabeth first you are going to fight with Council Chaudhury
Eliza: Alright
Eliza and Council Nasreen Chaudhury who is the best fighter on the council start to fight to see that she has some skill.
Alec's POV
Me, Magnus, and my entire family are in the training room watching Eliza doing her rune trial.
Inquisitor Penhallow: Alright, Elizabeth first you are going to fight with Council Chaudhury
Eliza: Alright
Me and Izzy: Oh boy
Magnus: What's wrong
Me: Council Chaudhury is the best fighter on the council
Izzy: She knocked out one boy that was having a rune trial and she broke his arm and it took 4 weeks to heal even with a healing rune.
Jace: Also nobody has beat her during a rune trial
Magnus: Oh boy
Jace: Let's hope nothing bad happens
Eliza and Council Nasreen Chaudhury start to fight.
*5 Minutes Later*
After five minutes of Eliza and Nasreen fighting they finally finish and instead of Nasreen winning Eliza actually beat her.
Inquisitor Penhallow: Very good Elizabeth, next you are to grab a weapon and hit each target as close to the center as you can
Eliza: Alright
Inquisitor Penhallow places 2 different weapon bunches which have 5 of the same weapon on the table in front of Eliza. There are a bunch of knives and a bow and 5 arrows, Eliza goes for the bow and arrows and aims them at the target.
Jace: Hey like father, like daughter
Me: Shut up Jace
Magnus: It's kinda cute that she is like you Alec
Me: I guess, let's hope the next one is either a bit more like you or like neither of us
Maryse & Robert: Sorry what did you guys just say
Me: We will explain after her trail
Eliza starts to shoot the 5 arrows and aims them at the targets and all of them hit the bullseye.
Inquisitor Penhallow: Alright, Elizabeth your final task is to sword fight with Council Penhallow
Eliza: Um Okay
Robert: It looks like she is getting the most nervous for this part
Me: She is good at sword fighting but it is not her strong suit unlike hand to hand combat
Maryse: Well, It wasn't yours either but as you grew so did your skill
Me: Thanks for that memory mom
Eliza and Council Penhallow grab their swords and start fighting.
*10 Minutes Later*
After 10 minutes of sword fighting, they finally finish.
Inquisitor Penhallow: Alright, you have done well, the council member and I will talk it over and we will let you know in a few minutes
Eliza: Yes ma'am
Once the Inquisitor and the council head off Eliza comes over to all of us. Once she comes over and we all head into my office.
Me: You did so great honey
Magnus: Yes, we couldn't be more proud of you
Eliza: Thanks Daddy, Thanks Papa, My nerves are kinda shot right now
Maryse: But you did great it reminded me of when your dad and aunt Izzy had their training done
Robert: Yes it did, and you were just as good as when they did it
Eliza: Thanks Grandma, Thanks Grandpa
Izzy: You were amazing out there all those years of training paid off
Jace: Yeah, But you could have used a little more work on your sword fighting
All except Eliza: JACE!!!
Eliza: It's alright, thanks anyway guys
Robert: So should we go and hear the results
Eliza: I guess
All of us head out to the training room to hear Eliza's result and when we get out their not only are the Inquisitor and council members there but so is the entire Institute, so I ask one of the other shadowhunters what is going on.
Me: What are all of you guys doing here
Fellow Shadowhunter: We are all here to hear Eliza's results, we have to support a shadowhunter no matter what blood runs through their veins
Me: Alright
Eliza's POV
My family and I come out of my dad's office to see if the Inquisitor and the Council have come to a decision and when they told us they have every shadowhunter in the institute is behind us so my dad asked them what they were doing.
Dad: What are all of you guys doing here
Fellow Shadowhunter: We are all here to hear Eliza's results, we have to support a shadowhunter no matter what blood runs through their veins
Dad: Alright
I am standing with my parents when the Inquisitor and Council come over.
Inquisitor Penhallow: Alright we have our decision, Elizabeth you are one impressive Shadowhunter, you have shown some impressive skill with your aim with your arrows and being the first shadowhunter to beat Council Chaudhury, your sword skills could use a bit of work but there are a lot of shadowhunters like you with that skill so...
Maryse: So, what does that mean
Inquisitor Penhallow: Elizabeth Lily Lightwood-Bane, you have passed your rune trail
Everyone in the room is cheering for me.
Inquisitor Penhallow: You will receive your rune in 2 weeks
Eliza: Thank you, Inquisitor Penhallow
Inquisitor Penhallow: You are a brave and impressive shadowhunter just like your father and we know you will do great things for the Clave
Dad: Thank you, Inquisitor
Inquisitor Penhallow: You're welcome Mr. Lightwood
3rd Person POV
Inquisitor Penhallow and the council members leave the Institue and head back to Idris. Eliza and her family head back home to celebrate Eliza passing her trial. While Eliza is getting changed Alec and Magnus finally tell the family about the baby.
Maryse: So before we start this party what did Alec mean by "let's hope the next one is either a bit more like you or like neither of us"
Alec: Alright, So Magnus and I are expecting another baby
All except Alec, and Magnus: Oh My God
Jace: Congratulations you guys
Robert: Yes congratulations son
Maryse: So how far along are you, Magnus
Magnus: I'm 1 week or 1 month
Izzy: I'm so happy for you too
Magnus: Okay, let's just celebrate Eliza getting her first rune
Eliza comes out all dressed and the family celebrates all night long getting ready for Eliza to get her first rune in 2 weeks' time and the new baby in 8 weeks' time.
