Life is full of surprises, you don't even know what will happen next, what will happen in the future, i knew that life is full of surprises but i expected mine was a surprise full of happiness and delightfulness in life, we all wished for a better life, i was living my life searching for the good in it, i never stopped hoping that someday there might be something good will happen, and then one day everything went black
Nakaupo ako sa silya nang biglang bumukas yung pinto ng bahay namin, i saw my daddy and mommy, i immediately went to them and hugged them, as if my hug will atleast ease their pain, i couldn't stop crying since we heard the news about my brother, i couldn't stop.
"Adam! Ano ba naman yan, tawagan mo nga ulit yung anak mo!" Mom shouted.
Tumayo si daddy at kinuha yung phone nya, trying to contact my brother, I felt that something's not right, it's already 1 am in the morning and my brother isn't home yet, usually around 11 pm he's already here from his law school. But i kept telling myself that i was just overthinking, we shouldn't react like this perhaps my brother is already 22 years old.
"Mommy, wag ka nang mag alala siguro naman pumarty lang si zon, he's already 22 years old" i said calmly, but my heart is beating so fast, after all my brother isn't the type of man who goes into parties, he's the type of man who always stay at home, simple he's a nerd one.
I texted ilios, wondering where he is. He didn't texted me or called me last 2 days. I guess im born with problems as my twin.
It's already 4 am when we heard the telephone rang.
"Yes? Speaking. What?! Wait are you sure? Im Adam Soleil are you sure?" My dad hung up the telephone and even drop it on the floor.
"Daddy? Anong nangyayari?" I asked daddy when i saw panic in his eyes
"Zanne gisingin mo mommy mo, didiretso na ako sa hospital, tetext na lang kita kung anong hospital" mabilis na sabi ni daddy.
"Daddy? Tell me what's happening?"
" Zanne for pete's sake your brother is in the hospital!!" My dad shouted
Then after a minute, i heard my dad's car at umalis na sya. Tumakbo ako papuntang kwarto nila mommy at ginising sya, my mom immediately stood up and went to the hospital.
I immediately went inside my car and search for my power bank, kung saan kailangan na kailangan ko yung phone tsaka naman lowbat! Pilit kong tinatawagan si ilios to tell him about zon, close sila ni zon and ilios is my boyfriend so i should tell him about this, i wonder how's he doing, i shouldn't be like this, my brother is in danger and i still keep thinking about ilios, i couldn't stop myself, something's not right.
I arrived at the hospital and went directly to the nurses to ask if there's a new admitted patient just a few minutes ago, god knows how much i love my brother! I was crying when i saw my mommy and daddy just staring blankly in the floor at the hallway, my daddy saw me and immediately wrapped me around his arms, i can hear my mom sobbing.
"daddy? Anong nangyari kay zon? Bakit sya andito?" I asked.
"you're brother joined a fraternity group! Why the hell i didn't notice! Of all why fraternity! Hindi ko na alam, ito yung sinasabi ko sa kanya bago sya pumasok ng law, someone in his group brought him here to the hospital" my dad said
"Zanne yung kapatid mo, yung kapatid mo nasa OR . Broken ribs at unconscious sya nung dumating dito" my mom said sobbing.
"Zanne naabutan ko pa sya, nakita ko sya bago sya ipinasok sa OR, halos di ko na sya makilala, halos basag yung mukha nya tsaka yung tshirt na suot nya punit na, hahanapin ko sinong gumawa nito papatayin ko kung sino man" sabi ni dad, ngayon wala na yung tapang sa mukha ni daddy, i saw fear in his eyes, as well as mom's
"Who the hell did this? May lead na ba kayo? Dad i will talk to my friend right now, she's a lawyer too! I wantcthe man whose behind this will rot in jail" paghihinagpis ko
"Zanne, kausapin mo si ilios" i glanced back at my dad, why the hell would i talk to ilios about this? Ilios is not even a lawyer! I dont understand, mali 'tong iniisip ko
"Why would i talk to him?" I asked again
But when i was about to talk again, my dad punched the wall, and mumbled curses, why? What's happening? Nalilito na ako.
Is this about the Masandro thing again? I never saw my dad angry like this, only once when Mr. Masandro, Ilios dad, treated me like im nobody.
"Hello? Sun?"
"Girl, ang aga aga ah" sun complained it's very obvious that i disturbed her i can hear it clearly from her voice that she was still sleeping before i called.
"Sun, pwede mo ba ako puntahan, nasa hospital ako ngayon" then suddenly i couldn't help it i burst out into tears, worried that my brother is till in danger i tried so hard to not let her hear me.
"What? Jontis ka na ba girl?" Sun asked, if sun is in my front right now i can imagine her face with her teasing smile, she really never changed, she's still sun.
"Sun naman e, kailangan kita ngayon, nasa hospital ako, sinugod kanina si zon, bugbog sarado si zon nung dinala sya dito, i need to talk to you" i said crying.
"Bakit di mo sinabi agad?? Ano ba yan zanne, papunta na ako, ako na bahala tatawag kay ash" sun ended the call and just like that i cried again.
Zonne never did something to worry us about, this is the first time he made us worry, he's still my baby brother after all.
Where the hell is ilios, kanina ko pa sya tinatawagan di parin sya sumasagot, god he's frustrating me!!!
"Girl! Anong nangyari?" Ash asked me.
I immediately hugged her and cried in her arms, then asked her where's sun, then she told me humahanap lng ng parking
"Gago 'yang si sun, pumunta sa bahay namin suot suot yung fitted skirt nya tsaka boots, gulat nga ako kanina e pumunta sa bahay, akala ko paparty na naman kasi galing kaming party kanina akala ko may part two" ash said with her awkward laugh
I know she's just trying to make me feel better, of all my friends ash is the caring one, she's the sweetest and caring, you'll never feel shy whenever you need something from her, she will never let you feel guilty about doing something. Im thankful they're here.
Umalis ako sa kakayakap sa kanya, at nakita kong paparating na si sun tumatakbo with her loose t shirt and fitted skirt and boots, mukha sya construction worker, the nurses looked at her probably they think Sun's very weird.
Then finally she saw us, she ran to us with her phone and looked at ash.
"Girl di ka naginform ikaw na pala pumalit sa yaya nyo?" Sun asked ash seriously.
"Para kang unggoy na sira ulo" sabi naman ni ash.
They're outfits for today were really weird, lalong lalo na si sun, ash is okay it's accepted since its almost 6 am she's just wearing her old pajamas and shirt.
atleast they made me laugh, and they communicate by teasing each other, so normal state nila na yun. I couldn't call our other friends since wala sila dito sa manila, si sun lang at ash yung andito.
When we went to my mother and father, nasa room na daw sila ng kapatid ko so dinala ko na sina ash and sun doon. Pagkapasok namin, mom's still crying at naka akbay naman si daddy sa mommy ko.
"Suinnee, Ashia, pasok kayo, wala ba kayong mga trabaho?" Tanong ni daddy sa kanila.
"Wala po tito off ko po ngayon" sun answered.
Tinignan ni daddy ang suot nya probably weirded out by how sun looked. At tinanong pa ni daddy kung saan galing si sun at parang iba ang bihis nito, tumawa nalang si sun tsaka ash, then ash also told my dad na wala rin syang trabaho ngayong araw.
"Oh sige, zanne iuuwi ko muna mommy mo, babalik kami mamayang gabi, to solve this case" dad told me
Nagpaalam na sina daddy and mommy sa amin at dumiretso naman sa cr si ashia, nahihiya ako sa kanila kailangan pa nilang mag leave sa trabaho nila i tried calling ilios again but still he won't answer the phone.
"Ash, bibili muna ako nga essentials tsaka pagkain dito muna kayo ni sun" pagpapaalam ko sa kanila.
I went to the convenience at parang nakita ko bodyguard ni ilios, kamukhang kamukha nya but that's weird ilios wouldn't stay at hospitals he doesn't like hospitals. When i went back to zonne's room, i heard ashia and sun talking.
"Nag- aalala ako kay zanne" ash said
"ang bait nitong si zon para bugbugin ng ganito halos di na makilala oarang may galit yung may gawa nito" sun said while walking towards the bed.
"Oo nga e, nag aalala ako kay zanne, dami na sigurong dinaramdam ng babaeng yun" sabi ni ash
"party lang katapat nun girl" sagot naman nitong sira ulong si sun
"Heh! Ayusin mo yang kinalat mo, darating na si zanne"
"Nakita mo girl?" Tanong ulit ni sun
Nung babatuhi na sana ni ash si sun ng pillow, pumasok na ako at tinanong kung gutom na ba sila.
Kumain muna kami at tumawag ako sa bahay para padalhan kami ng damit. Nung binaba ko na yung phone, may kumatok sa pinto.
It was four boys, probably zonne's friends pinapasok ko sila and directly glanced at my two friends, single naman sila and for sure bet nila 'tong mga lalaki na 'to.
Pagkapasok ng mga kaibigan ni zon lumapit kaagad sila at tinanong ako ng kung anu anontulad ng kung anong oras ba inadmit si zon, nung tiningnan ko si sun at ashia, nakatingin lang sila sa mga guys na nandito, bigla naman natauhan ang dalawa nag nagunahan pa puntang cr, and i saw sun stood beside the door.
"Suinnee?" The guy went to suinnee and suinnee smiled back to him
"Uyyy! Long time no see"
"Suinnee, ngayon lang kita nakita ulit, ibang iba ka na ah"
"Hah talaga" nagtataray na naman si suinnee
I noticed one of the boys kept on glancing at the cr's door probably he likes ashia.
When ashia got out from the bathroom, sun went inside directly, and ash sat on the chair like a sweet princess. After a minute sun's out, there's the girl.
She tied her loose shirt that made the shirt fit to her, now mukha na talaga syang galing sa party. The guy talked to suinnee again and ashia kept on glancing suinnee, and laughing.
The guys left after an hour, i sat beside zon and caressed his hand, then i heard a loud bang outside, when we went outside to check i saw sun looking shocked, when i saw daddy, i saw ilios in his arms, holding ilios' collar and dragging him to the wall. Ashia placed her hand in her mouth and told me naagpapahangin lang sila ni sun.
"Dad! Why are you doing this!"
Pumagitna ako sa kanila and im shocked when i felt a sting on my left cheek, my dad slapped me.
"Tito, wag naman po sana si zanne" sabi ni ilios
I stared at him, what the hell is going on.
"Zanne! Yang boyfriend mo! He did this to zon! He planned all of this! Planado tong pagkabugbog sa kapatid mo! Akala ko iba tong si zon! Pero gusto nilang masaktan ang pamilya! Mag kasing ugali sila ng tatay nya! Kaya zanne umalis ka sa harap ko kung ayaw mong masaktan ulit" sigaw ni daddy
Then my world stopped, i dont know what to do i stepped back and my knees were trembling, i dont know what to do, when i looked at ilios, he asked my father in bended knees
"Tito, wag mong saktan si zanne, tito im sorry, zanne im sorry" said ilios.
When our eyes met, i didn't know what urged me to slap ilios, he betrayed me, niloko nya ako, ginamit nya ako just to hurt my family and he hurt me too! He really is a Masandro.
