(A/n: Hello and again i'm not the type of person to put an author's note in the beginning of the story but i have to say a few things, i have been losing interest on writing this book but that's besides the point. I'll be doing a huge timeskip and this chapter will be the match where karasuno was fighting against shiratorizawa
I am so sorry for the huge huge huge timeskip but i've been dying to finish writing this book and start finishing my other book which was nekoma's second manager, i hope you guys understand. Don't worry there will be one more chapter before this book officially ends)
Y/n's POV
Currently it was the match between Karasuno and Shiratorizawa, due to my injured wrist i was benched and now i'm sitting beside shimizu-san. I was still wearing my jersey because maybe just maybe i get a chance to play on one of the sets
I have been tapping my foot for the past 30 minutes, all i want was to get on the court and play but since my wrist was injured all i can do now is watch intensely, i groaned in frustration as i realized that we lost the second set which means it was time for the third set
Everyone was gathered around, some were drinking water and some was wiping their sweats. I can tell that sheena was getting tired which worried me since i know by now that she was over her limit, i stood up and tugged on keishin's sleeves as the others stopped what their doing and stared at me which i ignored since i was busy staring at keishin with determination present in my eyes
Keishin turned his head to look at me but only to flinch when he saw the look i gave him, he eventually caught on what i was trying to do before sighing which confused the team
"No y/n, you can't play" he said shocking the rest of the team as they stared at me with wide eyes
"Why? Just because i'm injured doesn't mean i'm weak, i can't be bench for ling knowing i would just get frustrated and besides i can't just keep tapping my foot until the floor breaks" i said as i crossed my arms while looking at my cousin who only sighed once again
"Y/n, you don't underst-"
"I understand that you care for me but at least let me play one set" i said as i continued to stare at him, he eventually gave in
"HAH?!" The team exclaimed which caused the other team to stare at us in confusion but they immediatly shrugged and minded their own business
"Y/n! What if your injury worsen?" Sheena asked as she gave me a worried look, i smiled at her before patting her head since she was shorter than me
"I noticed you were getting tired, so at least let me play one set then i'll let keishin to switch me out when i feel pain" i said as the others stared at me silently which i paid no mind, sheena eventually hugged me and thanked me
PRRRRRRTTTT
It was now time for the third set, everyone got into position and to my luck it was my turn to serve. The team looked at me worriedly knowing that my dominant hand was injured but what they didn't know is i can spike with both of my hands
I threw the ball up with my injured hand as i ran and leap before spiking it with my none injured hand, the ball dropped in front of ushijima as he didn't have time to react quickly. The team stared at me shocked while i gave them a smile
"I'm full of surprises huh?" I said as they broke into cheers and hugged me for gaining us one point, the whistle blewed again and i decided to do the 'Queen's serve', i haven't mastered it with my none dominant hand but it wont hurt to try even if we are at risk of going to nationals
I took a two steps forward and it seems like the other team was fooled by my movement and got ready to receive a jump float serve but at the end i did a jump serve which was received by their libero
I went to my position which was at the back and got ready to receive any attack, ushijima did a strong spike as he aimed at me. Being the reckless person that i am i received it as the ball flew in the air, i can feel the team wince when they realized that i received it with my injured wrist tho to be honest it didn't hurt
Tobio setted the ball to asahi as he spiked at the three blockers, he successfully earned us a point and the game went on and on
During the game, ushijima kept on aiming his spikes at me as i tried not to show any sign of pain i'm feeling because every spike that he does he adds more force making it hard to receive or so he thought it was hard to receive when it felt like a three-year-old spiked the ball
(Timeskip: Final set)
It was now the final set and surprisingly keishin lets me play with the last final set since i have been bench during aoba johsai and johzenji's match. And i have never been so happy on my whole entire life
Since it was break time, tobio had pulled me out of the gym but of course he asked permission first before pulling me out of the gym
And right now we are standing in front of this giant tree behind the gym, there were no people at all so it was only the two of us
"Why did you pull me out here tobi?" I said as i tilted my head, he took a deep breath before looking at me straight in the eyes, he gently took my hand as his thumb caressed my fingers
"N/n, promise me when we win this game you'll kiss me" he said, there was no hint of sarcasm or joke on his voice, it was pure sincere and for once his voice sounded gentle. I stared at him with wide eyes before my lips curled up into a smile
"I promise but" i said as he stared at me with pure confusion, he tilted his head like a lost puppy as he gave me his full attention
"You'll marry me when we finish college right?" I jokingly said as tobio blushed real hard, he hid his face with his hands which caused me to laugh uncontrollably
"There you guys are!" A voice said as we turned our head to see hinata jogging towards us
"What is it hinata?" I asked as he catched his breath before standing up straight
"The final set is about to start, we should go" he said, we only nodded as we follow hinata inside the gym
"Remember our promise" he said as he wrap an arm around my shoulder, i nodded at him as we entered the gym with determination written in our faces
We went into our position and before we know it, the final set as begun

"LEFT!" I yelled as suga tossed the ball to my left, i jumped as high as i could and spiked the ball with my injured hand. We were able to score a point as i landed on my feet
"Is your hand okay y/n?" Suga worriedly asked as i gave him a smile before nodding
"Don't worry suga-san, my hand may be broken but i'm still strong" i said as my eyes sparkled with determination, suga ruffled my hair as he gave me a soft smile
"I'm proud of you y/n" he said as he walked off since he was gonna be switched out with tobio but to my surprised tobio was holding tsukishima's jersey number and this could only mean one thing
They were gonna do the attack they did when they were playing against seijoh, and again this could only mean that i get to be in the front. Which i have no problem with since i can jump very high to block some of there attacks
The whistle blewed and suga was the one who's serving, he spiked the ball which was easily received by shiratorizawa's libero. I figured they were going to do a attack again and i got ready and began reading their every movement
And once again, i figured they were gonna do one of those forceful attack where one of ushijima's spike managed to injured tsukishima and to be honest i was scared to get injured more but hell i'm sure i'm not one to pig out
And i was right, i jumped just in time to block ushijima's spike which resulted his spike to hit my injured wrist but the good news was the ball fell on their side of the court and the bad news was due to the force of the attack, i wasn't able to land gracefully on my feet and instead i landed on my back while clutching on my wrist which now turned purple
Tsukishima was first to rush to my side which surprised everyone in our team, we heard the whistle blow signaling that our side called for a time out
"Idiot! I told you not to overwork yourself" tsukishima scolded like a big brother as the team crowded around us asking if i was okay
"Obviously she's not okay" tobio said with no hint of sarcasm and anger on his voice except for concern, he carried me bridal style as tsukishima and the rest of the team followed close behind
He gently placed me on the bench as my cousin kneeled in front of me and examined my hand while shimizu gave him the first aid kit and also gave him a ice pack
"I guess it's my cue to stop playing huh" i said as i laughed dryly, i didn't even bother looking up knowing the team was giving me a sympathetic look
"Oi idiot, this isn't the end of the world so why the sad tone" tsukishima exclaimed as i looked up to see him smiling softly at me, the team stared him surprised not knowing that a person as salty as tsukishima was able to express different emotions
"YOU CAN SMILE?!" Hinata said which earned a smack from sheena
"Sho! You ruined a wonderful moment between the two siblings by heart!" sheena exclaimed which caused the whole team to laugh as they witness both bundle of sunshines have a silly argument
"Well, thanks tsukki. I didn't expect that from you" i said as i smile softly at him
"No problem, it would be a hassle having a sad y/n around. Am i right?" Tsukishima asked which the whole team nodded in agreement before breaking in a fit of laughter
"Well guess it's your time to shine again, shen" i said as i called her by her nickname which caused her to perk up and nodded eagerly
Prrrrrrrttttt
The whistle blewed signaling for us that time out was over, i took the ice pack from my cousin as i placed it on my now swollen wrist. The game resumed and it was getting intensed
Without even noticing it, we were at our match point since it was now 24-20 and karasuno being on the lead. And i could tell by now that the team was nervous and was shaking on their feet not being able to contain their excitement
Hinata was switched out with yamaguchi knowing that he was a pinch server, he took a deep breath as he did a jump float serve. His serve was received by the other team's libero by tossing it to the setter while the setter tossed it to their ace
Daichi was able to receive it and gave it to tobio, tobio tossed it to asahi as asahi spiked the ball. Everything went in slow motion as the ball made contact with the other team' side of the court
We were quiet for a quick second as i stood up and walked towards asahi, everyone was frozen and in tears
I sobbed loudly as i ran full speed at the ace
"ASAHI-SENPAIIIIII" i screamed on top of my lungs not caring about the people staring as i embraced the ace while crying, daichi and suga joined me as we all screamed in joy. The crowd cheered as we won the final set, the team was embracing one another while cheering and yelling
We all lined up, still in tears as i shoked hands with a guy with red hair which i found adorable (show tendou some love •w•)
"Great game out there" he said with he held a peace sign which i returned with a grin
"Likewise" we both parted ways as the awarding ceremony started, we were lined up as we received our medals and i was awarded as the MVP of the year despite being injured and benched while tobio was awarded with 'Best Setter of the year'
Everyone went down the stage as we went outside, i felt someone tap my shoulder as i turned around to see tobio smiling at me
"You didn't forget about our promise, right?" He said as my face broke out into a smile as his hand made its way into my waist as he pulled me close, i place both of my hands on his chest as we both started to lean in slowly closing our eyes as our lips met closing the gap between us
We both heard cheers as we pulled away to see the team clapped their hands which caused both of us to blush
"Finally you two kissed" shimizu exclaimed as we both blushed furiously
"NO FAIR! I WANT A GIRLFRIEND TOO!" Both tanaka and nishinoya yelled in unison which caused the whole team to laugh
"Hey shen, have you and hinata kissed yet?" I asked which caused both bundles of sunshines to blush at my sudden question, the team broke out of laughter as we all boarded in the bus
(Timeskip: Gymnasium)
Keishin called for a short meeting but the meeting turned into a small talk about some random stuff
"So the third years are gonna graduate in the next three weeks" takeda said as we all nodded sadly, we heard someone cleared their throat and turns out it was shimizu. We stared at her in confusion but she only smiled at us
"I don't know where i got this sudden confidence from but we just want to thank you all for giving us third years the most unforgettable memory, not only that we made it into nationals but we are also thankful that we got to fly again with your guys' help" she said as the first years and second years bursted in tears including tsukishima
"Shimizu-san that was really sweet!" Yamaguchi said as shimizu only patted the boy's head
"Not only that, i'm glad that y/n and sheena was a part of this year's volleyball team. They both have made big difference and probably made this year more special with girls playing in a boys' volleyball team" she said and then again me and sheena bursted into tears as we both hugged her arms
"WAHHHHHHH SHIMIZU-SANN" we both exclaimed which caused everyone to laugh excluding us who were busy crying our eyes out
"Okay chop chop! It's time to clean up!" Keishin said as he clapped his hands earning our attention
"OSU!"
