Being in a library doesn't help at all. Not even a change of scenery helps... It still sounds like the same song as last time.
???: "Oh, is that...?"
What am I going to do? I can't give up now, not after I've come this far. I can't let history repeat itself.
???: "Hey, are you listening?"
The deeper you get into songwriting, the harder it gets.
I envy Umi and Chika for their ways with words. And Maki and Riko for their ability to compose such music.
But me? I can't do anything about it. Maybe I really am nothing, after all...
MAKI: "Hey! Try listening for once!"
AKI: "Huh? Maki?!"
MAKI: "I've been trying to get your attention for a minute now! First you take off out of nowhere at Honoka's place and now you're ignoring me?"
AKI: "S-Sorry! I didn't notice at all."
MAKI: "So you must have been really focused. What were you studying?"
AKI: "Oh, I wasn't studying. I was thinking about a new song."
MAKI: "You write music in the library?"
AKI: "Not usually, I thought a change in environment would help me."
MAKI: *Giggle* "Even in a quiet room like this, your head is filled with music.
That seems like your style. I think it's great."
AKI: "Maki... A-Anyway! I was trying to think of a melody, but it sounds so much like another song I wrote. Now, I'm just stuck."
MAKI: "Did you write the score already? Why don't we get a breath of fresh air to clear your mind?"
AKI: "Yeah, that's probably for the best."
...
MAKI: "Any better?"
AKI: "Yeah, thanks."
MAKI: "Here, let me see that."
AKI: "W-Wait...!"
MAKI: *Hum*
She's humming the music I wrote.
I don't know if I should be embarrassed or happy. It just feels like I'm being judged.
MAKI: "What's wrong with this? I think you're pretty good at writing music."
AKI: "You think I'm pretty good?! Wow... I'm so happy. Hearing you say that makes me feel a bit more confident."
MAKI: "Just a bit? That's all you got even though I went and complimented you?"
AKI: "Maki... You've recognized me as a song writer! I'm so honored!"
MAKI: "You make it sound like I didn't recognize you before. I always have, you know."
AKI: "Huh?"
MAKI: "You're more talented than you think. You should have more confidence in yourself."
AKI: "Thanks. Your encouragement makes me feel like I'll be able to write great songs!"
MAKI: "I know, right?" *Giggle*
Maki's music and words are just so inspiring.
AKI: "Thanks Maki!"
MAKI: "Don't mention it. Say, why don't you visit Otonokizaka tomorrow? We can play a piano duet again."
Maki wants to play with me again?!
AKI: "A-Are you sure?!"
MAKI: "Sure, I know the others want to see you again, too."
AKI: "Thank you! I'll be there!"
MAKI: "Th-There's no need to be THAT enthusiastic!"
