- Sudden Arrival -
Third day in the In Between
Yeonjun woke up by the early chirping of the birds. He covered his face with a pillow as Sky suddenly barges in the hut with Yeji and Yuna awake.
"Rise and shine ~" Sky sang as Hueningkai rolls out of bed.
"Kylie Jenner is that you?" Hueningkai stood up with messed up hair
"Who's Kylie Jen- er?" Sky tilted his head to the side confused
"From keeping up with the kardashia— Oh right you are not a human person you are just made by your creator" Hueningkai nodded his head
"Of course.. but who is Kylie Jenner?"
"Practically a girl who is a billionaire in a young age by selling lip kits" Kai shrugged
"Kai how do you know tha- You know what i won't ask" Yeji raised her brow
"Its what you call i grew up with two girl siblings"
"Who ever that Ky Ky Jen Jen person is i want to meet her" Sky looked at Kai
"Her name is Kylie Jenner but okay.. once we get out of here are we allowed to send postcards? So i could give Sky a photo and a lip kit by chance?" Hueningkai asked Yuna as she shrugged
"Can Ya'll shut up? I'm sleeping" Yeonjun looked at them with bags under his eyes
"Holy potatoes Yeonjun hyung you look like your mo— Ow!" Hueningkai widen his eyes as Yeji scratched his foot
"I was just stating the facts doe..."
"Are you ready to experience our everyday lives in the in between?" Sky happily said
Yesterday they were supposed to work and try what life is like in the in between but it was moved today since there's a surprise inspection that happened yesterday.. which was odd..
Sky led his friends out their cabins as he showed him the type of works they could do for today. People in the In Between has rare choices for work since they could only do is hunt, fish and craft. The only traits their creator gave them.
"Ooh can we do fishing?" Kai looked at Yeonjun who was still half asleep
"Whatever you pick for us" Yeonjun scratched his head
"I want to try crafting" Yuna raised her hand
"Great choice! I'll lead you to the workshop later but be prepared you'll be working a lot" Sky laughed
"Umm Sky what could i do since i um.. am a fox?" Yeji tilted her head
"Oh right, well you could come with me and Mia we'll be doing rounds today" Sky transformed to his dog self and quickly lead them to their jobs for today.
He dropped off Yeonjun and Hueningkai first at the lake where elves are seen fishing. Second he dropped off Yuna at the workshop while he brought Yeji with him to the portal where they first arrived.
Yeonjun and Kai was having a quick crash course with the fisher man on how to fish. Kai was enjoying the lesson as Yeonjun was sleeping through it. "Okay so here's your fishing nets and buckets once done fishing put your fish on the weighing scale" The elf instructor pointed
"Yes, Sir" Kai said as he nudges Yeonjun
"Yes Ma'am!" Yeonjun said as he yawned
"Get to work then" He looked at them before leaving
Kai excitedly took the equipment as Yeonjun confusedly pointed at it. "Your kidding right?" Yeonjun looked at Kai holding a flat square thing with a net. "Do i look like i'm joking.." Kai shrugged.
He dipped the flat square thing and lifted it up five fishes were caught. "Look i caught some hyung" Kai excitedly looked at the fishes. "Hmm isn't it too early for dinner?" Yeonjun bit his lip looking at the fish.
"Hell nah! Your not eating them" Kai lifted the bucket he transferred the fish in
"Of course i won't" Yeonjun shook his head as Kai sighed in relief
"Since its not cooked yet" He added
Kai quickly poured the fish back into the lake as Yeonjun looked at him in shock. "YOU JUST LET GO OF OUR DINNER!" Yeonjun shouted
"ITS NOT FOR DINNER!" Kai shouted back
"ANIMALS ARE MADE FOR FOOD!" Yeonjun pointed at the lake
"SO YOUR SAYING DOGS AND CATS ARE FOOD?" Kai disgustedly looked at Yeonjun
"CORRECTION SOME ANIMALS ARE"
Hueningkai scratched his head as they continued fishing meanwhile with Yuna at the workshop things were going good. She helped make a dozen of wooden cups today and the owner slash manager is happy.
"Thank you for the help Yuna, you work really fast" He said
"No problem its actually cool to carve wood"
"I have a favor.."
"What is it?" Yuna wiped her hands
"Is it okay if you made two more batches? 😬"
"T-two WHAT?" Yuna widen her eyes
"I mean you said its cool to carve wood and besides your pretty fast at doing it"
"Let me th— Great you could start working now" Yuna was about to say something as the owner shoved her a chisel and wood glue
"Girl i can't even finish a school project in 50 minutes and you want me to make two dozens..." Yuna looked at the materials
As Yuna got to making more wooden cups Yeji has been exploring the grounds for a while now and the more they look into the in between the more she's intrigued.
"Mia is the whole land like this? Full of flowers? And random things that looks aesthetically pleasing?" Yeji asked
"Well no.. of course your just in the first chapter so it looks peaceful and encouraging.. i don't know about the other parts tho.." Mia replied
"Why have you seen the other parts?"
"I have once.. but never again.."
Mia once traveled around the in between land as they go further it goes scarier. Monsters, Witches and other horrible things appear. The creator is very secretive that no one even saw his face yet.
He never takes off the mask he wears.. its to hide his identity which makes the characters curious about him. Each week new sets of monsters and threats appear along the way.
It will continue until the creator write the final scene of the book. Where it all ends but it has been years and the book hasn't been given a ending. Characters are hoping to end it but they couldn't.
"Woah that's awesome" The little brown haired fox smiled
"It might sound cool but its terrible.." Mia shook her head
"And also.. how can i transform into human again? Paws are cool but i miss my hands and legs" Yeji chuckled
"You have wizards right?" She raised her brow
"Well we have one once... But after a experiment Lopus disappeared and never been seen again" Mia shrugged
"Oh.."
Suddenly the skies turned dark purple Mia looked up and the portal was opening. She wore her helmet and approached the gate Yeji followed the girl as they stopped weirdly the gate closed quickly.
"That's odd.." Sky barked
"Hmm.. someone might had opened the book?" Mia looked at the light brown dog
"Or maybe is another threat?" Yeji added
"It doesn't look like it but to be sure we should check on the others" Mia suggested
"Good idea.. i don't want to see human pancakes later anyways 😌" Sky said

Back with Yeonjun and Kai the two has been enjoying catching fish and when i say two i meant Kai. Yeonjun wasn't too lucky with fishes its like it hates him. Maybe it understood what he said earlier about dinner?
"And i caught five wohoo" Kai transferred the fish happily
"Wow ok nice" Yeonjun sarcastically said
"Why ya salty like the sea?" Kai puts down the bucket
"Well if you'd like please take a look at our buckets" Yeonjun puts his hands on his waist
Kai peeked on Yeonjun's pile and lets say he has a bit compared to Hueningkai who's rich in fish.
"HAHAHAHAH Its karma" Kai flipped his hair as Yeonjun glared at him
"Karma will struck you too.." Yeonjun mumbled
"Can i at least get two pieces of freaking fish? Even its big and poisonous i don't care"
"Be careful on what you wish hyung" Kai looked at him
"YO CREATOR GUY! WON'T YOU MIND GIVE ME TWO BIG FISHES OR SOMETHING?" Yeonjun shouted looking at the sky
He kept looking at the deep blue sky as Kai spotted something falling. It looks like meteoroids from afar. "And that's what i meant by karma" Kai pointed
Yeonjun didn't mind and continued standing in the middle of the lake. Then he noticed Kai was right something was coming towards them. Yeonjun took the dive swimming into the lake as the thing splashed into the water.
"Yeonjun hyung? You there?" Kai looked at the body of water as he saw no sign of him
"Yeonjun hyung! Where are you! I'm sorry if the karma is death i didn't mean to COME BACK PLEASE!" Kai shouted
Hueningkai heared coughing from the shore as he ran towards it. His eyes couldn't believe what he saw Lia and Soobin in the in between. Kai happily hugged the two elder friends as they hugged him back.
"YOU CAME!" Kai looked at the two
"Didn't intend to" Soobin coughed
"And hyung forgive me for my sins Yeonjun hyung died because of me" Kai kneeled
"What? Where and how?" Lia looked at the boy
"We were fishing as he told the fishes he'll eat them for dinner and i said karma will struck him back but i didn't knew it was death waaaah!" Kai started to cry
Lia and Soobin was confused as Yeonjun walked behind Kai dripped water. He removed his slipper and smack Kai by the back. "You idiot" Yeonjun rolled his eyes.
"And he's haunting me" Kai hid behind Soobin and Lia
"I— Huening Kamal Kai, i haven't died yet" Yeonjun brushed his hair
"Oh my gosh hyung i'm so sorry for wishing karma" Hueningkai ran to him and hugged him by the leg
"You better be.." Yeonjun said
Moments later Yeji, Sky, Mia and Yuna arrived at the lake. "Are you guys alright?" Sky asked as he transformed into a boy. "Am i dreaming or did that dog just talked and transformed into a boy" Lia pointed at Sky
"Nope your not dreaming mi- lady pleasure to meet you i'm Sky" He handed a hand to shake
"I'm Mia guardian of the in between portal" Mia smiled as she shook hands with the two
"Where's Yeji?" Lia looked around as the tiny brown fox jumped at her
"Hi Liaaaaa" Yeji greeted
"Holy garlic brea— This fox ate Yeji"
"Idiot i'm the fox" Yeji got off Lia and went beside Yuna
"Well isn't this a sudden arrival.." Mia looked at the two who was dripping wet as well with Yeonjun
"I thought the portal is closed already?" Sky turned his head towards Mia
"Me too..."
"Yuna why are you holding a dozen of wooden cups right now.." Kai tapped Yuna's shoulder
"Don't ask" She replied
"But is just did... Don't tell me these are your souvenirs?"
"Why would a wooden cup be my souvenir?"
"I don't know..."
"How did you get here and how did you find us?" Yeji asked Lia and Soobin
"Well that's quite a story to tell" Lia chuckled
"I'm glad that your all safe" Soobin smiled
"Well thanks to them" Yeji looked at Mia and Sky
"So shall we get ready for dinner?" Sky happily said
"We should but first we need to give our guest warm dry clothes right Sky?" Mia crossed her arms
They chuckled as Mia and Sky brought them back to the village. Lia, Soobin and Yeonjun was given dry clothes as they didn't know about what's going to happen to them....
Far away from the village a man was busily watching his crystal ball spying on the now six teens. He placed down his cup and stood up. The man was wearing a long black robe and his white mask.
"Wouldn't it be sad if these kids experience the worst?"
He evilly chuckled
"Guards i have a question.. where are the winged lions kept? We should give our guest a wonderful welcome to our gracious land"
"Poor teens doesn't know what's about to happen..."

I'm sorry if the first chapters are very plain i'm trying to write very quickly so we could reach the exciting parts already. I feel like the story is sorta slow paced and i want to introduce the remaining two itzy members already.
