my family and i buried my brother. we all stayed quiet the whole ride home.
"how are you holding up?" my dad asked me
"i think i'll be fine" i tried to smile
"i'm sorry i know how much this impacted you" he kissed my head
"i know but i'll try to make it through" i said "hey uh dad tomorrow is hayes graduation. you think you can take me?"
"of course" he said
everyone else was silent
stephanie: i'm sorry about brody
me: leave me alone please
stephanie: i'm serious i'm sorry for brody
me: well thanks i guess
"hello?" i asked
"sarah!"
"uh hey zach" i said
"how are you?"
"well i'm ok, i'm a little better" i sighed
"i just wanted to check up on you"
"thank you i'm doing fine" i said
"ok just call me again whenever you need anything please!"
"i will" i said
"ok i love you"
"i love you too" i smiled
"see you soon?"
"yea maybe in a couple of weeks so i can get my mind off some things" i said
"ok see you soon"
"see you" i said as i hung up
i got home and went inside my room and packed a few things
"are you leaving after hayes graduation?" my dad walked in
"yea, i think if i'm traveling i'm a lot more happier so maybe going back on tour or going back to modeling" i said
"SARAH SARAH LOOK AT THE MAGAZINE" anna came running into my room
she handed me the magazine and it was a vogue magazine, i was on the front cover and i looked throughout the magazine and a bunch of pictures of me were in it
"O MY GOD IM ON A COVER OF A VOGUE MAGAZINE" i screamed
"wait really" my dad took the magazine
we all hugged while i was crying happy tears. things were going to start getting better

it was almost midnight and i had to get up at 6 so i could get ready because hayes wanted us to have pictures together. i woke up at 6 and got ready, i put on a summer dress that wasn't an older woman type dress. i put on makeup and put on a necklace hayes gave me. i drove to where hayes told me to meet him
"you made it!" hayes hugged me
"yea i did!" i smiled
"so uh it's one car per family so uh you would be crammed in with my family" hayes said
"it's totally fine" i said
me and hayes took a few pictures we took some with his family and everyone just took pictures with hayes . we got into the car and i was crammed in with nash and his girlfriend in the back. we made it to the field and i sat next to his family. my brother would've graduated today too. we got through the first hour and they finally called hayes name and we all screamed for him a few more minutes have gone by.
"do any of you guys know a relative of brody johnson?"
"uh i'm his sister" i said
"come with me please"
i walked with a lady and she explained that she was very sorry for our loss and since he would've graduated today that one of our relatives got to walk across the stage for him and i had the honor to do it. they gave me a picture of brody to hold and it was his yearbook picture
"before we announce the next graduate, let's have a moment of silence for Brody miles johnson, he unfortunately passed away in a car crash just a few days ago and he would've graduated today and we all know he was such a great person so let's honor him with a moment of silence" we had a moment of silence and i tried not to cry "'now walking across the stage for brody is his younger sister sarah johnson"
i walked across the stage trying not to cry and i held up his picture. everyone was cheering. i went back to the sidelines and i watched everything from down there. i walked up when it was about to end and i saw zach but i didn't want to talk to him and he didn't see me either. after another hour it was finally over and we all went to go congratulate hayes and i hugged him tight while holding my brothers picture
"you did it!" i smiled
"i know! your brother also made it!" hayes hugged me tight
we took some pictures together and as all of us were walking back to the car i see zach hugging kay and put his arm around her and continued to walk away. zach came to go see kay on her day too.
"are you ok?" hayes asked
"yea yea i'm fine" i said
"oh i see why" hayes said
"yea" tears started to build up inside my eyes. i see zach whisper something into kays ear then kisses her on the cheek
hayes puts his arm around me and rubs my shoulder with his thumb
"great" i said
"he's stupid for doing that! did he not see you when you walked for your brother?" he asked
"i don't know" i said as i wiped a tear off
me and hayes got into the car and all of us went to eat. it felt just like old times when i was invited to dinners.

zach💜: i kissed her on the cheek because that's how i was raised to greet friends or relatives! i had my arm around her because i was excited that she was going to college! i would never cheat on you because i love you
me: you sure!
zach💜: yes 100%
me: sorry for that
zach💜: it's fine!
me: i'll see you soon?
zach💜: monday?
me: yes
zach💜: ok see you then
me: seen
