Gon and his examiner was up ahead facing each other
"Now then, as you've all probably noticed I'm not terribly strong." "I don't enjoy fighting, or running, jumping anything physical, really" Sedokan gestures honestly
"I like that stuff a lot more then thinking.
I guess I've never really been all the great at using my head." Gon speaks truthfully as well "I thought so" Sedokan replies
"So, I came up with a game. One I think we'll both enjoy." Sedokan points "a game?" Questioned Gon "yes, a simple game that doesn't rely on mental or physical activity." Sedokan states "what is it?" Gon asks
Sedokan chuckles
"We each light a candle at the same time and whoever's candle goes out first is the loser."
"Alright?" Sedokan pulled out two candles covering the bottom piece showing what seems like the same length "Yep. Makes sense to me." Gon give him a thumbs up
"I'm in let's do it!" He smiled back

"Okay. In that case..." Sedokan revealed the actual candle size holding the candles in a different way. Team Gon I'm gonna call them that now. Each gasped except you while Tonpa only smirk
"So with candle do you want to use?" "It's your choice" Sedokan asks "press O for the long candle or press X if you would rather have the short one."
"Chose by majority rule."
"So, we have to choose one?" Leorio says "this is a damn trap. Normal, you'd want to go for the long one." Leorio starts "which means these low-life must of done something to sabotage it." Leorio insults Sedokan "Yes. That would be the safe assumption." Kurapika adds "however it could be a trick and he's actually tampered with the short one."
"Hey, you're right. So, when you put it that way..." Leorio figures "correct, there is no end" Kurapika ends his words "sounds like you've got yourselves a real dilemma."Tonpa states now trying to get under Leorio skin again.
"You keep your big mouth shut!" Leorio barks back. "Yeah yeah.." Tonpa replied

"Something happens when you're presented with an obviously biased choice." Kurapika went straight into detail
"Suspicion mounts and the decision-making progress seizes up."

More over the psychological impact of making the wrong choice is much greater than if the option was between two eventually matched options. Kurapika explains in his head

"No rush. We have plenty of time, believe me." Sedokan states "hmm.." Gon turned to his friends
"Hey! What should I pick?" Gon asks
"Damnit, good question." Leorio responds Killua stared at Sedokan and all Sedokan did was chuckle playfully
"Gon! The choice is up to you!" Kurapika blurts out "pick whichever candle you think is the best option that's how well all vote." Kurapika words echo "Are you sure about this?" Killua says "it's just that he doesn't think things through" which you nodded your head at Killua words agreeing with him
"Instead of fretting over the choice, let's just put our faith in Gon's instincts" Kurapika reassures "trust his instincts, huh?"
"Well it's not a bad idea" you utter now giving a sweat drop in the process.
"Oh I get to chose?" Gon realized now turning back to face Sedokan
"In that case, I'll go with the long candle, okay?" Gon picked out. Sedokan gave a smirkiful laugh "You want the long one? Are you sure about that?" Sedokan tries to make Gon second guess his choice.
Gon was now fully facing Sedokan
"Of course! The longer the candle the longer it burns." Gon points out "it's kinda of a no-brainer" Gon thinks simply
On Gons friend side
"Well, that's one way to look at it." Leorio says dumbfounded with a weird stance but it wasn't just him
"I told you he wasn't gonna think it through" Killua says putting his arms behind his head and you just laughed sheepishly
"Well. That settles it." Kurapika says and presses the O button along with everybody else.

"Okay." Sedokan then stands up after a little wait. "Looks like you get the long candle and I'll take the short one" Sedokan tosses Gon the long candle which he catches with two hands
"All right. Let's light'em together." The two of them walk to a fire stand which looked like a candy apple with fire coming from the top.
Wait was that there before?
You think now looking at the fire stand questioning it
The two males lit the candles and walked back to where they where previously at

"So, uh"
"Normally how long would it take that candle to burn?" Killua asked looking at his timer "I would estimate five to six hours." Kurapika responds. Strong wind started to randomly blow upwards
"Oh wow, that sure was a close one" Gon carefully blocks the wind from reaching his candle. "There's a pretty strong wind coming up from below." Leorio looks down at the empty darkness from what he could tell
"They'll have to stay still and keep an eye on those flames." Leorio gestures to Gon and Sedokan. "There's no chance to let their guards down."
A few more minutes passed by
Sedokan kept giggling hiding his true methods "if you don't pay attention your candle will blow out." Sedokan playfully warns "Yeah, I know. That's because you're planning to do something bad." Gon responds
"Aren't you?"
"Otherwise, your short candle would go out first." Gon adds "I won't do anything."
"Cause you see, I came prepared." Sedokan finishes
FLOOSH
Gon candle flame became much brighter, much bigger, and more heated escaped.
Gon gave out a startled cry now shocked at his trick candle. "Hey, take a look at Gon's candle, that flame suddenly got a lot stronger." Leorio states. Now everyone was most likely staring intensely at the situation Gon was in. "I should've known." Kurapika starts
"He somehow laced Gon's candle with gunpowder or some other accelerant." Kurapika exclaims "That's why it's burning so much faster" Kurapika finished
"Ow! Hot! Hot!" Gon whisper yells hardly grasping his candle trying not to get himself burned as the candle continuously melts away and the wax became heated along the way. The long candle Gon had was now smaller then Sedokan yet still managed to stay the same height for the time being.
"At this rate he's only got another two or three minutes." Killua declares. "It's okay. Just trust his instincts!" Y/N tries reassuring her friends smiling. They did feel slightly better but that didn't stop Leorio from yelling out " hey! That was a dirty trick!"
"I knew it. You messed with the long one, didn't you?" He blurts out. Sedokan went into a interally monologue about how he had 4 candles not just 2 and that 2 of those four were laced with oil a short and tall and the other two, another short and tall weren't oiled and that he switched the candles at the last second once Gon made
his decision.
In the end it didn't matter which candle he picked-
"Your wrong Sedokan!" You blurt out on the other side he only gave a huh? Snapping out his thoughts
"It's does matter! Because if he CHOSSE the short one it would've ran out way faster then the long candle!" You call out he dazed out questioning on how you knew his thoughts and your friends besides Gon also gave you a questionable look oh yeah and so did Tonpa
"How do you know his name?" Leorio asked Y/n. "What do you mean? Cant you read the caption?"
"..ah? Hehehehe." Gon laughed smiling showing teeth at Sedokan after looking at his candle as if he figured something out.
Sedokan gave another questionable gaze now at Gon. "I guess now that the flame is burning so much stronger..." Gon placed the candle on the ground no longer trying to block the wind from the flame.
"It'll take a lot more than a little brezze to put it out." Gon states
SWOOSH!
And he immediately ran to Sedokan now stopping his tracks leaving a mini trail of wind behind him. "He's fast!" Sedokan states thinking out loud surprised. Gon inhaled and blew out on the candle making the fire go out.
He then turned to his candle to see his flame unbothered. He then chuckled feeling successful "I win!" He gave a peace sign smiling
Sedokan gave Gon a 'how can this be?' Look defeatedly and Gon's team look proud of him except Tonpa
"All right! I won!" Gon states now walking back to his friends as the bridge came back letting Gon walk back. "You sure as hell did! That's one win for us!" Leorio celebrated to quickly "Once Kurapika and I win, we can advance" Leorio was now being confident.

A member from the opposing side walked to the stage. "All right" "I'll take the next one!" Kurapika says and walks for eh stage as well. "Good luck!" You say to him he returns it with a smile
Awwww he smiled back! You then saw something black and tiny moving around the corner of your eye and quickly turn to the figure now seeing something moving in the darkness and slowly walk to it. Everyone seemed to focus on Kurapika then you as your eyes followed the moving creature
Spider
FUCK A SPIDER
AND ITS NOT THE SPIDERS! It's A SPIDER! You internally panic now thinking back to we're Kurapika states something about seeing a spider as you zone back into reality your eyes nervously traced the spider as it backed away in the darkness leaving everyone alone.
Hopefully Kurapika won't notice.
You quickly head back to everyone acting like you where there the whole time and sat down whistling to yourself
Once Kurapika and the other male arrived at the center stage the bridges they walked on to the strange pulled back retreating to it former place
And the Male form the other side pulled off his cloak revealing a blue bulky person. Leorio gasped in shock staring at the male.
Who was now roaring and it just seemed to be annoying more than startling.
"The next contender's gotta face me!" The blue hulk cackled dryly
Majitani
Third examiner in the third phase
108-Year Sentence. Multiple crimes, including Fraud and Blackmail.
"Man, that is one freaky body." Leorio stares at the fake blue hulk. "Yeah. And face." Killua mention although Kurapika looked unfazed
"Do ya see this, kid?" Majitani points at his chest on the left side "I've killed nineteen people so far. But it's such an uneven numbers. To tell the truth it kinda bugs me." His chest showed 19 red color mini hearts. Majitani snickered
"Hehe, Ive been lookin forward to meeting number twenty for a while." Majitani gave a evil laugh that sounded implausible
"Oh great, we're dealing with a serial killer." Leorio says in worry. Oh come on Lori even I saw through him the first time I watch Hunter Hunter. You think sighing disapproved
"The only way ill do this is if we put our lives on the line." "It's all or nothin, do ya hear me, brat?" Majitani states insulting Kurapika "gimme blood!" "Spilling entrails!" "And sweet agony!" Majitani roared in fake laughter his laugh just seemed to repeat over and over it didn't even sound like a laugh
Again Kurapika was unfazed
Oh yeah, you must be terrified right now. Majitani thinks
"Very well"
"Huh?" Majitanj stopped his laughter and looked surprised at Kurapika words "you can decide how we settle this. And I will accept it" Kurapika already knew that his enemy wasn't as tough as Majitani put out.
"You've got some balls, kid!" Blue hulk chuckles. But I know you're quaking in your boots. How long can you keep up the tough guy act? Majitani scoffs in his thoughts
"Then you're accepting a death match." "We go until one of us either dies or admits defeat, and not a second earlier, understand?" Majitani explains
Man he's such a hypocrite. Y/n thinks deadpanning. "However, Don't think admitting defeat or surrender will stop me." "Never had and, in fact, it never will, so get it out of you head right now." Majitani points and started his fake maniacal laughter
Well, scared stiff now, aren't ya?
Majitani thinks
"Fine I accept."
Majitani stopped laughing
Kurapika threw his tabard to the ground which revealed his bagging training outfit underneath. "Shall we begin?" Kurapika asks. Majitani looked startled and went on a rant in his head about how Kurapika should be scared of him.
Majitani explained further that weapons weren't allowed in the fight which made Kurapika ditch his dueled wooden swords. Although Kurapika was still unfazed
finally the fight started
Well in that case, I got a few cards up my sleeve for dealing with fools like him.
Majitani inhaled deeply and grunts bending his body over. He started flexing and his body started growing more fit
"Ha! What are you Bane?!" You laugh to yourself. "Bane?" Gon tilt his head "it's a character from shows" you respond turning to Gon
"Hey guys, is Kurapika gonna be okay?" "Cause if you ask me, this guy looks pretty dangerous." Leorio asked his friends now worried about Kurapika
What looks so dangerous about him? It's obvious, well, to me anyway. That this guy's a big talker. Killua thinks putting his hands behind his head. He doesn't have the guts to hit anybody, let along kill them.
"Your joking right?" Y/n says out of the blue talking to Leorio "huh?"
"I wouldn't worry about it much." Gon spoke as well. Their words gained Killua attention "why not?" Leorio responds "because when I'm looking at him, I don't get chills or anything." Gon replied he was crossing his arms oddly staring at Majitani
"What does that mean?" Leorio asks confused "Y'know like a odd vibe off someone or a bad or good feeling at something" you tried explaining "I still don't get it." Oreo states hands on his hips
While you just sighed. Man I'm really not good at explaining things. Scratching your cheek in thought
Killua agape mouth closed into a smile looking at Gon and Y/N then turning to the fight.
"I think it's time to show you my secret weapon." Majitani says after bulking up and jumped into the air "the first of many!"
"Here he comes!" Leorio shouts
Manjtani tried landing a punch to Kurapika yet he jumped back away before he could and Manjitani landed on the ground and his fist into the ground
"Oh my god." Tonpa replies to Majitani actions. "He just punched a hole in the damn floor!" Leorio spoke aghast
While Killua looked bored out of his mind and Y/N and Gon remained neutral
That was perfect and that's not the only trick up my sleeve
Majintani pulled his fist out the ground and turned around making sure anyone facing his back saw his back tattoo...
Of a spider
Kurapika breath hitched as he drew in a gasp. He stared down at the tattoo
"Look at his tattoo, it's a spider with twelve legs! And that means..." Leorio starts pointing out "yeah I recognize it." Tonpa went terrified at the thought of it "anybody who wants to be a Hunter has heard all about tattoos like that one."
"It's the symbol worn by members of that nefarious band of vicious thieves, the Phantom Troupe!" Tonpa explains
"Really?" Gon asks looking at Leorio "yeah. No doubt about it." "It's meaning is widely known." Leorio responds
"In fact, I- I head about them straight from Kurapika." Leorio finishes nervously sweating
Kurapika was silent.
The whole room went silent. Except for some odd reason Y/N could also hear that background music
Between the steel implants that gives me the strength to shatter rock with my bare hands. AND the symbol of the Phantom Troupe... they make on hell of a combo
Majitani thinks and now turns around facing Kurapika again
"As, what's wrong?" "Cat got your tongue?" Majitani laughs teasing a now shadowed face Kurapika who stood up from the ground
"Name's Majitani! I'm one of the Phantom Troup's four devas!"
"That first strike was just an introduction. This is your last chance to give up." He tries tricking Kurapika
I'm pretty sure even the Phantom Troupe would be offended. You joked in your head crossing your arms
"If you do, I'm still willing to..."

"Huh?" Manjitani went aghast
Kurapika breath was seething,
most likely due to rage within him.
"Hey...what's wrong with you?" Manjitani grew frighten "what are you.."
"Huh?" Manjitani started sweating nervously as Kurapika figured disappeared from his sight.
Suddenly he was grabbed by his chin almost strangling it. Strangled cries came from Manjitani as he was lifted into the air by a enraged Kurapika
"Wait! Wait, I get it!"
Manjitani started pleading for Kurapika not to injure him once he saw his right fist curled up
"Hold on, wait! Please don't!"
"You win, okay?" Although his begging wouldn't save him
From Kurapika pounding his face into the floor with a punch. Majitani went unconscious and bounced off the ground and landed with a thud while Kurapika jumped backward after his punch landing on the ground back to his original stance. Now looking all emo like
Gasps came from Tonpa, Gon, and Leorio while Y/N gave a 'Nee hee' out her mouth and Killua
"~~" only whistled impressed
"Take this to heart"
"First, a genuine Phantom Troupe tattoo has the member's number inscribed on the spider's back." Kurapika states
"Second, They don't bother tallying the people they've killed because it's irrelevant to them." "And third, don't ever mention the Phantom Troupe to me again."
"If you do..
I will kill you with my bare hands." Kurapika scarlet eyes glowed
Almost everyone was stunned at Kurapika moves
"Oh wow."
"Kurapika..."
"Yeah. I saw that one coming from a mile away." Killua says. Gon faces showed an uneasy look as now he realized something about Kurapika and the Phantom Troupe.
The bridge came back making a way for Kurapika to meet with the group again. And so he grabbed his equipment and his tabard now putting it on again and walked back
"Hey, are you okay?" Leorio asks nervously worried "yes, I'm not injured" Kurapika respond bluntly "no I mean, is it safe for us to be around you right now?" Leorio questions taking a step back
"I knew he wasn't nearly as powerful as he looked. And in my mind, I knew right from the start that the tattoo was a fake." Kurapika put his left hand against the left side of his face not covering it completely
"But as soon as I saw that spider, my vision went almost completely red."
Wait so when his eyes turn does that me he literally see red in his sight? Or is it because his rage? You oddly think but shoo your thoughts away now caring for your friend. "Well, nobody gonna blame you for that." Leorio says
"To be perfectly honest," Kurapika starts now gaining his friends attention "whenever I see a spider, any spider, all my rationale collapses and I turn primal" He admired truthfully which made them give a 'Are you serious?' look
"You should have told us like a long time ago" Leorio spoke with a startled expression. Kurapika only walked to a near wall on the left of him and slid down with his back now siting "that can only mean one thing. The rage inside me remains as strong as ever."
"I suppose...I should be happy"
"I think we ought to keep Kurapika away from any spiders, from now on." Gon says whispering although it wasn't very quiet.
"Oh yeah." Leorio repsonds sweatdroping
"Oh!"
"Well then if we're gonna do that then just wanna say" you start explaining closing your eyes, the group beside Kurapika who's hiding within his arms still sitting down looked toward you.
"Better not go anywhere near the gate we entered through." You pointed at the gate.
Immediately your group froze for a split second now starring down at Kurapika seeing if he would act which thankfully he didn't
"O-okay then guess I'm next."
The group went out their expressions and focused back to the task at hand "all right. Time for me to secure our victory!" Leorio walks forward and stopped at the bridge.
Y/n walked near Kurapika and sat down on his left side as his head was still buried underneath.
You softly rested your head on his side. "Hey, if you need to talk I'm always available." Kurapika head rise to look towards you smile. He gave you a sad smile and responded with.
"Thank you, Y/n"

With Kurapika's triumph over Majitani, they only need one more win to clear the trail and reach the next Phase
Well except that Y/N case was being saved for later.
"Oh joy, can't wait to see how that'll turn out."
But the question on almost everyone minds is how will Leorio handle the next challenge?

Guys I have some HxH news good and bad
Good news is HxH anime may be coming back again like actually MAY be coming back 🥳
Bad news is that HxH is leaving Netflix so if you guys watch HxH on Netflix
It'll be leaving on March 7th
although that's how I'm doing this HxH Fanfic I do have other sites to watch it and the Mangas so if you'd like to know where to watch HxH or any other animes let me me know it the comments!!!
