Chapa's p.o.v
I was in Boses living room waiting for him to come down so we can head over to the carnival for Cap Con. I still can't believe Ray convinced the school to let our entire class spend a day at the Fair. But hey, I'm not complaining. "Okay let's go," Bose announced as he came down the stairs running his fingers through his hair. Bose got a small hair cut a couple of days ago and it really suits him. I could have sworn he did for Mika ever since that day she stood him up but every time i brought it up he would start talking about me and Miles sort of date.
He's acting like Mika standing him up wasn't bothering him but trust me, it was. "Promise you'll keep your cool?" I eyed him. "Of course," He scoffed. I watched as he opened the door to escort us out. Bose was as soft as cheesecake but believe it or not, he could have a little bit of a temper. One time in kindergarten Robbie Goldfeder took his favorite kiwi flavored juice box and Bose almost beat the crap out of him, Never have i seen a kid so angry over a juice box. That's when i knew we were going to be good friends.
Bose's p.o.v
When Chapa and i got to the carnival Miles joined us in helping set up Captain Mans Booth. He promised to give us 10 bucks each and a picture but being the smart guy i am i only wanted the picture. Two students walked past us and one of the kids threw away a sticker of Captain Man from there cookie. Ray in his Captain Man suit gasped. "Hey! how dare you, get back here you little brats," He went after them. Classic Ray. "We'll get him," Miles nodded his head over for Chapa to join him.
As soon as they left Mika came over. I wasn't sure how felt about the whole Dallas thing that happened last Friday but i figured that i should just get over it but i couldn't. "Hi Bose," Mika greeted. I gave her a head nod and i think she got the hint. Immediately regretted it once i saw how i made her feel. "I mean hi," I changed my response. She gave me a weak smile. Where did i go wrong? Again?! Mika got a message from her phone and turned it on to read it.
"Um, Dallas asked me to meet him by the cotton candy stand to hang out, wanna come join us," She asked hopefully. Me, Mika, and the guy that's trying to take her from me? No thanks.
"No, its fine, ill just sit here and help Ray out with Cap Con," I rejected.
"You sure? i was thinking maybe you guys could actually get to know each other-,"I cut her off.
"It's fine, and maybe later, i promise," I promised. She gave me a sad little nod and i turned back around to the flyers on the table but i could still feel her standing behind me.
"Oh and Bose, if it even still means anything, I was a little confused and still am but you're the one i like," Mika admitted and her footsteps fade away.
Mika's p.o.v
I felt really crappy about what happened with Bose and a part of me felt like i should have turned down Dallas's offer and stayed with Bose at the stand but the other part wanted to be with Dallas. I was officially Laura Jean!
When i saw Dallas waiting for me on a bench i approached him. "You came," He hugged me and i hugged him back. "I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else," I exclaimed but deep down it felt like a lie.
We walked around the fair holding hands but any time i thought i saw Bose i would let go and get paranoid. It was like i was cheating on my not technical boyfriends. Dallas went to go take a call so i went to grow to throw some tissues out while i waited and a girl with binocular peeped out from behind the bush scaring me. WHAT THE HECK. It was the same girl who approached me in the bathroom when Chapa came to talk to me. "Um hello?! are you forgetting about Bose," She reminded still in the bush.
"Are you spying on me?!" I questioned.
"Maybe," She replied.
"Okay, Bose and i are just fine. I mean sometimes it can feel a little overwhelmed and why am i telling this to a bush," I ranted.
"He's coming," The girl gestured to Dallas and went to hide back into her bush."Were you talking to someone?" Dallas asked looking around. "i-i- well, nope! just going over my to-do list out loud," i stammered. He brushed it off.
It was getting dark as i could see the sun start to set and i haven't really heard from Miles, Bose, Chapa, or Ray. The darker it got the more festive the fair started to look. I felt i was in one of those teenage romcoms when they start having the time of there lives. Dallas and i sat on a bench as we talked about Royalwood and the upcoming dance we're attending. when he started to seem off.
"Listen, uh, Mika. I've liked you for a long time. Actually even before you moved. These last few weeks with you have been amazing and i don't want to forget them..." He trailed off. My heart started to pound. Was he going to ask me out.
"What i'm trying to say is... would you ever considering us being an official thing," He asked. I was caught off guard.
Miles p.o.v
Bose has been hanging with Chapa i the whole time but he seemed depressed. It was probably about Mika but i didn't think it was my place to intervene. He got off one of the rides and that's when Mika and Dallas joined us. "Hey guys, i missed you," Mika playfully punched my arm. "Well you could have come to us anything so i guess you didn't miss us that much," Bose teased but he didn't sound too playful. Maybe we need to give them some space. "What's that supposed to mean?" Mika questioned giving him a serious look. "Nothing," Bose fake smiled but we all knew something was up. "Not cool dude," Dallas shook his head at Bose for what he said to Mika. "Um..was i talking to you?" Bose questioned. I was surprised. I never heard Bose when he wasn't all happy or saying something that was very irrelevant.
"I'm just saying, you shouldn't talk to Mika that way," Dallas responded.
"In what way was i talking to her? and why is it any of your business, you know nothing about her," Bose snapped. Mika was shying away. Dallas started to get in Bose's face. This is going to get messy, isn't it?
"Really, because I'm pretty sure she's opened up to me in 2 weeks than she ever did with you," Dallas claimed. I could feel the moment was getting tense.
"Guys, just cool it!" Mika got in between them.
"You think your SO special don't you. Well here's the thing...MIKA LIKES ME, NOT YOU!" Bose was now in his face. Chapa and i looked at each other. Someone was about to get hit. Chapa rushed to Bose's side.
"Let's just go Bose, he's not worth it," Chapa assured him.
Mika was behind Dallas looking lost. "You really think that? I wasn't the one who just sat and watched as his girlfriend dump food on her, just saying," Dallas smirked.
I blinked and in a blurry motion, Bose pushed Dallas so hard he fell on the ground. Dallas got up ready to fight back until Mika pushed her way through them. "ENOUGH," She shouted. I was scared she was going to expose her powers. "Seriously, you guys are acting like KIDS," She yelled. They still glared at each other as Mika looked at both of them to make sure they heard what she said. "Oh my god," She whispered to herself and they stopped giving each other death glares and looked at her. "I don't want anything to do with you Bose," She said in realization. Bose's eyes started to flutter as if he was waking up. "You actually put your hands on him...," She said to herself.
"Mika i was just mad i wasn't even thinking-"
"That's your problem Bose, you're ALMOST NEVER THINKING," Mika cut Bose off. This was getting outta hands.
"I could say the same for you when you're with this Dallas kid, maybe if you were thinking about me, you would have BOTHERED TO SHOW UP!" Bose snapped.
"I knew it! you are upset about that", Mika crossed her arms.
"WELL DUH," He emphasized. We all stood there and watched the scene. Dallas was about to say something but i gave him a look suggesting for him to back off.
"We promised not break the heart of each other, again..." Bose said but softly. Mika's eyes started to water.
"Well...we shouldn't have made promises we couldn't keep," She disclosed. Mika grabbed Dallas by the arms and went away him with. Chapa comforted Bose and i didn't what to do. Mika and Dallas had each other so did Chapa and Bose. I looked around the awkward scene for me and felt relieved when i say Captain Man flexing for some kids and decided it would be better to spend the rest of the night with him.
