"Come on Imani let's go" my dad slurred busting in my room
I got up putting on my shoes and grabbed my phone putting it in my pocket
My dance competition was tonight and they were out of it
I called up trell taking in deep breathes as I walked out my room
"What's up mani?" He answered making me gulp
"Hey trell you know I got a dance thing tonight and I was wondering if you maybe wanted to come and..watch" I said looking around
"Damn I'm at the studio right na but I got chu next time" he said as I heard voices in the back
"Right" I sighed
"I swea I'll make it up to you tho mani" he said quickly
"No it's okay don't worry about it do your rapping stuff" I said before hanging up
I stuffed my phone in my pocket sighing
It just felt like we never hang out the way we use too
"Damnn you just got rejected" Isaiah said flicking my neck as he walked past going to the stairs
"Shut up bitch" I mumbled pushing his shoulder
"bring y'all asses on" mama yelled from downstairs
I rushed down the stairs leaving Isaiah holding his shoulder in pain
My daddy was puffing on a "blunt" making me mug
"Do y'all really have to do that before we go?" I asked stank facing them
"It's life mani...you lose some people others come go shit everybody fucks you over time after time after time TILL YOU CAN'T TAKE IT NO MORE" he said yelling the end making me jump back
He was high out of his mind what was he even talking about?
"Listen to me mani" he said scooping down to my level
"When me and your mother become deceased when ever that is" he paused taking a pull from his blunt "I want chu to remember that..none of these people round chu can treat chu better than you treat cho self" he said pointing the blunt my way
"When you feel like a person faking and not fucking with chu boom cut em off quick that be them snakes" he said making me get scared
"The snakes the one that you love the hardest but end up biting yo ass you might lost balance within yo self" he mumbled
"Ain't nothing but viscous ass snakes behind me that's why I'm like this" he said taking a pull from his blunt
"A snake ain't nothing but a fake ass muthafucka you gon come cross them and I want chu to cut em off unlike me" he said making me gulp
"Okay enough you making her late" mama said pushing him away
"Just gotta speak the word of god" dad laughed getting up
"Boy that ain't nothing but what chu smoking shut up" mama shooed him away as we walked out
Dad unlocked the car and we got in
"Isaiah" I mumbled making him turn my way
"What?" He asked mugging
"Nevermind" I sighed scratching my head
Dad cranked up the car and sped out making me quickly put on my seatbelt
"Calm down" mama said hitting his shoulder
I pulled out my phone seeing a text from kentrell

I clicked off iMessage and went on Instagram scrolling
"Ma look" I laughed seeing a video of me dancing on the explore page
"Look at our baby" she smiled
"Let me see" dad said turning his head for just a split second
I happened to look up and my eyes popped out my socket
"Daddy stop" I yelled he quickly turned but before he could pressed the brakes he ran into the intersection and we got hit
The car flipped over and I cried holding on to my seatbelt till it stopped
Once it did I held my neck looking over at Isaiah
He was groaning trying to unfasten his seatbelt
I looked at the front and ma and dad wasn't moving at all
I held my neck harshly pulling at the seatbelt to unbuckle and when it did it came hitting me in my eye making me curse
"Ma" I mumbled climbing on the dashboard shaking her as Isaiah kicked the door a couple times before it finally bust open and he climbed out
"Dad" I said shaking him as mom wasn't moving either
I felt something warm on my hands
"Mani get out the car hurry up the gas leaking" Isaiah said in a panic
I looked at my hands before crying seeing blood
"Mani come on the car bout-come on" Isaiah said pulling me out aggressively
I fell on the street crawling out as Isaiah helped me away from the car
"Everybody stay back" Isaiah yelled to the people driving up
"They weren't moving siah" I cried looking at my hands
"Look the ambulance will be here any minute" A guy said walking up
A huge explosion happened making me cover my ears
"Oh my god" Isaiah mumbled making me turn but he quickly covered my eyes
"Don't look" he whispered as I sniffled nodding
He slowly took his hands off my eyes and I turned looking anyway
"Mom and dad" I yelled in tears getting up seeing the car now in flames
"Mani no" Isaiah yelled pulling me back as I tried to go near the car
"Their dead" I cried dropping

"Mani chill" kentrell said laying next to me on the bed wrapping his arms around me
I cried putting my head on his chest
"Who's dead?" He asked looking down at me
"Them" I mumbled not wanting to say it
"Oh shit it's today isn't it?" He said making me nod
I sniffled throwing my leg over kentrell wrapping my arms around him
"You want me to go with chu?" He asked lowly
"Yea" I mumbled
He nodded his head laying back "we'll go later go back to sleep imma be right hea" he said as I sighed
I closed my eyes tightening my grip around him
Kentrell always did stupid ass shit but he was always there for me when I needed him I can admit to that...
