Ji Fan jumped outside the cave and he saw a new world in front of him. The door to human world got closed as soon as he jumped outside it. He looked around,
"Now, what should I do first?
He said to himself,
"First, I should find a place where I can stay."
Ji Fan went out of the bushes and saw many humans walking around him. They were watching him in a suspicious manner. Ji Fan got confused,
"Why are they looking at me like that? Did they recognized that I am demon? No no, how can that be? I look exactly like them. Then why?
Then a couple came towards him. The male gave him gave a few silver coins with a smile. Ji Fan took them unconsciously. He was unable to understand the situation. Suddenly, when was passing by a stream, he saw his reflection in the running water. He was wearing cloths that were torn from many sides. Then he understood,
"Don't tell me, because of my cloths...These are one of my best cloths. How can they??...Okay, just leave it. First, I have to ask someone for a place to stay."
He looked around and saw an old man who was sitting on a bench. He was feeding pigeons. Ji Fan asked him,
"Sir! Will you please tell me, is there a place near where I can stay for couple of days?"
The old man looked at him and his cloths, then showed him the way through his finger and said,
"Go straight and then take a turn. You will find the most cheapest hotel."
The old man was looking at him as if he had done him a great favor by telling him the way to the cheapest hotel.
Ji Fan after reading the old man's expressions, realized what he meant. He thanked the old man and started walking according to the old man's instructions. After a while, he reached a hotel. He went inside. It was big and pretty good from the inside .
"Why the old man called it the cheapest hotel? I think it is pretty good."
As he walked to the table a person appear before him. He was an old man, with a beard and appeared to be in his eight's. He gave Ji Fan a smile and asked in a soft voice,
"Yes sir, how can I help you?"
Ji Fan while looking at surroundings said,
"Well I was looking for a room to stay."
The old man's smile got bigger,
"So you want to rent a room here?"
The eyes of the old man got bigger as if he had gain interest in the conversation. Ji Fan got suspicious of his expression and thought and thought in his mind,
'Why is he looking at me with that expression. Wait, does he think that I don't have money and is making fun of me?'
After thinking Ji Fan confidently said,
"Yes of course, give me the best one."
'I have got a lots of money from the King. Hehe..'
The old man said while opening his register,
"Ooo..okay sir, I will arrange it right a way."
While looking at the place Ji Fan noticed that it was empty. There was not even a bird chirping out there. There was no one, except the old man. Ji Fan looked at the old man and asked,
"Why your hotel is so empty? I think it is pretty good. There should be lines of people standing here for reservation."
The old man suddenly got tensed,
"Well...its just..."
Ji Fan heard a voice behind him saying,
"Because there is a demon who has haunted this place."
Ji Fan turned around and saw a girl standing behind him. She had her brown hair tied up and fair skin . Indeed she was a pretty lady but at the same time her big brown eyes showed him that she was also a strong lady. She had a dagger in her pocket on one side of her waist. Ji Fan asked,
"What did you just said, a demon?"
The old man nervously said,
"No..no..its nothing, its just..."
The girl with an expressionless face continued,
"Yes a demon. He come and scare people so that they would leave this place."
Ji Fan asked,
"But why does he do that, there should be a reason?"
The girl while taking the register from the old man's hands said,
"It's none of your concerns. You should leave now."
Ji Fan got confused,
"Why should I leave?"
The girl looked at him,
"You still want to stay?"
Ji Fan said,
"Yes, why not and if you tell me the whole thing, maybe I can help you to get rid of him."
The girl got a little curious,
"How?"
Ji Fan confidently said,
"I am very much familiar with demons, as I have seen a lot of them."
The girl got a bit more curious,
"And how are you familiar with them?"
Ji Fan realized that he shouldn't have said that and tried to make an excuse,
"Well that's because...because..."
'Because I myself am a demon.'
The old man pointed at Ji Fan and said,
"Are you that famous Demon hunter whom people were talking about?"
Ji Fan without taking a second, quickly said,
"Oh! how did you know? I travel in secret so that nobody could recognize me. I heard about this place so I came to pay a visit."
The old man held Ji Fan's hand softly,
"Ooo..thank you so much for coming. You look tired, go to you'r room and rest for a while. We will talk about it after dinner."
Ji Fan nodded,
"Yes sure."
The old man looked at the girl who was gazing at Ji Fan and called her,
"Qi'er! What are you looking at? Quickly show him the way to his room."
Song Qi tried to resist but in the end she had to accept her Grandfather's orders. She showed Ji Fan his room and said,
"This is your room, famous Demon hunter."
Song Qi was continuously gazing at him while Ji Fan tried to avoid the eye contact and said,
"Oo...okay, see you at dinner."
The girl gave a smirk and left,
Ji Fan quickly closed the door,
"I am such a fool, Why did I do that? I should have left when she said that there was a demon in this hotel. What's wrong with me? I was just curious that why a demon has hunted this place? What should I do now....Okay, I should just find an excuse to leave this place... Yes, I will say that this demon is too much powerful, I cannot handle him and... you should also leave this place it's too dangerous."
While he was still thinking, Song Qi knocked at the door,
"Demon hunter, are you there or ran away..."
Ji Fan opened the door,
"How can I ran away from here?"
Song Qi pointed towards the window,
"I thought that you ran away from the window."
Ji Fan looked at the window and clenched his teeth,
'Oooo...shit I was so immersed in my thoughts that I didn't even noticed that there was a window in this room.'
Song Qi while reading Ji Fan's expression gave a smirk and said,
"I think you didn't notice that there is a window in this room."
Ji Fan controlled his expression and said,
"No..no, I knew that the window was there. The mountains from the window look so beautiful."
Song Qi looked at him,
"There is a forest outside the window."
'caw..caw~
"Oooo...Yes yes a forest. Actually, I have traveled so many places that I sometimes mix up the scenes."
Song Qi looked at Ji Fan's cloths and said,
"And looks like you don't even take money from the people for your work."
Ji Fan noticed what Song Qi met,
"Yes yes, money is not everything as long as I can make people happy and safe."
Song Qi said in her mind,
'This person is not leaving this place easily.'
"Okay, let's wait and see how long you can stay here DEMON HUNTER."
Ji Fan nodded,
"Well...yes I.."
Song Qi interrupted,
"Dinner is ready come down and eat before the water touches the ground."
Ji Fan couldn't understood what she meant,
"What? Water touches the ground?..."
Song Qi didn't reply him. She went down stairs and Ji Fan follow her lead. While eating dinner Song Qi told him the whole story that,
"Our family was very rich and we ran this hotel, it was very famous. People from far places used to come here for stay. But my uncle was jealous of my father's fame . He wanted to have everything from us. So, he tried every possible way to destroy us but my father protected us and this hotel. When he saw that he had no chance then he signed a contract with a demon to destroy us and in return he sacrificed his life. After that, bad or I should say, the worst days of our family started. My mother died of a diseases and none of the doctors could able to tell the cause, people stop coming here thinking that this hotel is cursed and my father died while blaming himself for all the happenings. Every night you can hear strange voices, water is everywhere on the flour and many other things."
Ji Fan asked,
"But why he has kept you alive?"
Song Qi looked at Ji Fan with a serious expression,
"Because he amuses himself by scaring us and hurting us."
Ji Fan felt the pain behind those words as it brought back the memories of how other demons in the demon world used to amused themselves while beating him and hurting him.
The grandfather held Ji Fan's hands and asked,
"You will help us right?"
Ji Fan looked into Grandfather's eyes which were carrying a lots of hope in them. Ji Fan smiled at him and nodded.
"Yes..I will."
Song Qi while looking at Ji Fan said,
"We think about it the next day. I know that the Demon hunter need some preparations to fight with that demon. For now, we should go to our rooms before he comes."
Grandfather Lee nodded his head,
"Yes yes, I can understand. Quickly go to your room. See you tomorrow."
Grandfather Lee patted Ji Fan on his back, gave him a soft smile. Song Qi held Grandfather Lee's arm,
"Grandfather Lee, let me take you to your room."
Grandfather Lee shook his head and said in a low voice,
"I can go myself. You give him company."
Grandfather Lee went to his room. Song Qi walked with Ji Fan to his room and said,
"Thank you for not disappointing my grandfather but I know that you are not a Demon hunter. You can go back early in the morning before grandfather wakes up. I will tell him that you went out while looking for help from your senior. And soon he will forget about you, like other customers."
While going outside the room, she advised him.
"Remember to lock your room, cover you face with a blanket and do not take off the blanket no matter what sound you hear."
Ji Fan closed the door and took a deep breadth. He started thinking about what to do.
