There are 3 things that I don't understand about boys:

1) Why they appear when you are at your worst.

2) Why they are so obnoxious.

3) Why they exist.

I understand that that's quite harsh, but the way they act just gets to me. Why can't they just be normal, it's like they are a completely different species.

Adrian seemed like an okay person, but I'm sure I will grow to hate him. I have every boy I've met. That includes my best friend Xavier, but that's another story.

Now I am stuck here in this busy city surrounded by known strangers, and Adrian Grove. If he is anything like his Grandfather I will walk to Brighton myself. However, in the mean time I need to walk upstairs to get dressed.

My wardrobe consists of mainly black, white and grey. I am bored of it, I was planning on getting some new clothes, but storm.

Just as I finish pulling my jeans up there is a knock at the door, followed by a ring of the doorbell, followed by the song "We Wish You A Merry Christmas".

It's Adrian.

"What can I do for you?" I look at him confused, he came to me and he is asking me what I should be asking him. "Well, basically I can sense when someone needs something and I can sense that you need these."

He hands over a basket of homemade cookies, it's been an hour since our previous encounter and he has decided to use his time to make me cookies.

I want to shut the door in his face, I go to shut the door in his face, but he puts his foot in the way.

"I don't like cookies."

"Of course you do...."

"Elena."

"Elena, everybody likes cookies."

I can tell that he is about to start a life story so I interrupt.

"Adrian Grove, Grandson of my neighbour. I like cookies, but I don't want your cookies, you could have poisoned them. For all I know you could have killed Mr Grove."

He starts to laugh again, I look at him and really look at him. He is about 6'1, which seems like a giant against my 5'3. He has crystal hazelnut eyes and floppy brown, which if it wasn't clipped back would easily hang over his eyes. He was actually really quite attractive, but that doesn't matter to me. Xavier was attractive, but just because I like the way you look it doesn't mean that I like you for you.

"I'm cooking you dinner." This wasn't a question, it was a statement. He can cook me dinner if he wants it doesn't mean that I am going to eat it, it's doesn't mean that I am going to go. "It has to be lonely living in this house for almost 5 months on your own. Bring a coat."

Normal girls are attracted to confidence, but to me it's a pet peeve. I want to meet a male version of me.

As he is leaving this time I am the one staring at laughing as he walks away. How can he, someone I just met a little over an hour ago, think that he can tell me what to do, no.

As I am closing the door I am left asking myself one question, how does he know that I have been here for almost 5 months?
