Kian's P.O.V
I felt like I was living a nightmare. They started to hook up a bunch of machines to her. "Clear!" They yelled as they put the machine on her chest. Seeing this made me die inside. I can't see Maddi die. I mumbled quietly but still enough for someone to here "common Mads I know you have that strength in you." They put the machine to her chest 4 times until I heard the beep again. A sudden of relief came upon my chest. We arrived at the hospital and they imediately took her into the surgery room and told me to wait in the waiting room. I paced back and forth as the hours passed. Finally they came out. "She is okay now but keep an eye on her she flat lined twice during the surgery well we were bringing her lungs back to normal." The doctor told me. I ran into the room to Mads. She looked dead and it killed me. Her face was completely white and under her eyes it was almost black. Seeing Maddi like this I didn't wanna stay. I walked to the side of her bed and held her hand. I just broke down in tears. I put my head on the bed. "Mads you gotta stay strong ok. I know you have that strength inside you." I then heard someone at the door. It was Sam. "Is she ok?" He asked. "She flat lined here and twice when she was in surgery." I replied while getting up and looking out the window. "Kian stop worrying so much she is gonna be okay." Sam said while walking over to me. "I don't know what okay looks to you but she does not look okay, I can't look at her right now she doesn't deserve to be like this and she shouldn't be like this." I replied aggressively. "Kian she wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for you. If you hadn't realized something was wrong and didn't go check on her she would've been dead right on her floor. You should be proud you saved her life." Sam told me. Just then I heard the flat line again. "Help!" Sam yelled. The doctors and nurses ran into the room. "You have to leave." They yelled. Sam ran out I stayed. 2 doctors grabbed my arms and started pulling me out. "Let me go!" I yelled back. They took me out and locked the door. "You can't do this!" I yelled through the window even though they couldn't hear. I saw as they were putting the machine to Maddi's chest. "Common Mads!" I yelled. I then saw Mads hand fall like it was life less. My heart stopped. I fell to the ground. In my head I was thinking "I never even got to say goodbye and exactly how I feel." 2 doctors left the room and in my head I was thinking "she is dead and it's all my fault." I then heard at the back of my ear a beep. I stood and looked inside to the machine. She was breathing again. I was so relieved more than I ever was before. I couldn't stand to see Maddi like this so I left and went to the waiting room. I sat in my chair feeling sick because I was worrying to much about Maddi. Sam was pacing back and forth and talking to himself. Maddi's mom ran in and I walked over to her. "Is she okay? Is she dead?" Maddi's mother asked while tearing up. "She flat lined 4 times on in the ambulane and 3 during in the hospital they don't know if she will make it through the day." I told her while a I held back my tears. "Oh my god she had this before when she was younger but it wasn't this bad. Maddi's mom said while putting her hand over her mouth and crying. I helped her to a chair and sat her down.
Maddi's P.O.V
I woke up being in the hospital. I don't remember getting here. I started to panic because I knew I died but came back. Through the time period I saw myself and Kian in so much pain. But I saw my dad and I heard him say I love you and then I heard Kian say stay strong and then everything went dark. The feeling of knowing you died and your heart stopped is the scariest thing you could ever go through. I then saw Kian walk in. "Mads are you okay oh my god." Kian asked while running over. I burst into tears. "I saw my dad Kian I died it's the scariest feeling." I told Kian. "Mads when you flat lined my heart stopped and when your arm dropped and it was life less I felt sick I thought I lost you."Kian said while he sniffled. "What exactly happened?" I asked while taking a deep breath even though breathing kinda hurt. "Well I was getting ready for school and I texted you but you didn't answer I told Sam and he texted you as well and then we went to your house and I saw you on the floor not breathing and I picked locked your door and ran inside." Kian told me while getting up and putting his hand on his and running them through his hair stressed like. "Kian don't be hard on yourself I would be dead if it wasn't for you to tell you the truth I was gonna let go but I heard you and I couldn't." I told Kian while taking a drink of water because my chest still hurt. "What do you mean?" He asked confused. "When I flat lined I saw what was going on my spirit left my body I was going to leave until I heard and saw you and I pushed myself to stay." I told him. Kian looked at me with a blank look on his face. Kian started to smile and it made me smile as well. "I'm gonna let you rest you need it." Kian said while giving me a goodbye kiss on the cheek.
Kian's P.O.V
I started walking home because I just wanted time by myself. It was starting to get dark so I tried to walk as fast as I could. I had this feeling there was someone behind me so every now and then I would look behind me and there was nothing. Until I looked behind me and then looked back and I felt a baseball bat hit my face.
