At daytime, I am an ordinary student, quiet, preserved, doesn't make too much trouble. I'm not exactly social, nor do I wish to be. Humans are.. Quite the annoying specie. But at nighttime, I read a bunch of mangas, I basically fangirl a lot and is quite loud. I'm basically two complete different people.
Recently, I've began reading the manga called "Who Made Me A Princess?". It's a lovely and incredible manga. One of my favorites if i may say so. I've wished for the chance to live in that place, meet those beautiful and sweet characters, and live happily alongside them. Never did I think it would actually happen..
The year is 2050. Another plague and a pandemic has broken out. Many people died due to those diseases spreading all around the world. It appears i'm one of them. My vaccination system has always been weak, but who would've thought I would die from a disease like this. Anyhow, it appears my wish has come true. I woke up as a result of shining rays hitting my eyes.
"huh..W-where am i?" I mumble, trying to open my sore eyes. "M-miss!" I hear a faint sound, and soon after feel a warm hand on my forehead. "Valery! you're awake! thank goodness!" I hear another voice, much more softer and familiar. I finally manage to fully open my eyes, and i'm hit with confusion. Who are those people?
They all look extremely worried, some even cry. "Valery! it's about time you woke up! i began worrying you know!" I look at the voice's direction, a male figure, red hair, light blue eyes. Huh?? red hair, light blue eyes.. Felix!!
"Felix?" I ask, recognizing the character from the manga I love. "Yeah! it's me Valery!" he smiles happily. Did I.. Really die and got re-incarnated as a character in my favorite manga? but even so, who is this Valery, whom I'm assuming is the character I am as of now. She was never mentioned in the manga. Who is she to Felix?
"My dear daughter! it's been 3 years.. 3 horrible years!" another woman with red hair and light blue eyes held my hand tightly. She looks just like Felix, but she's calling me her daughter. Does that mean Felix is my brother? I never knew he had siblings.
"M-mother?" I try to speak, but my voice is low and not understandable. "Ah, Valery. My beautiful daughter. It's a miracle! you're finally awake from your coma!" the woman hugs me, and her warmth warps all around me. It's nice.. A bit too nice.
But.. If this, Valery, has been in a coma for, 3 years i'm assuming, doesn't that mean she also died yesterday, and instead of me completely dying, I've been granted another chance?
I slowly try to get up, "don't Valery! you didn't stand for the past 3 years! you'll fall! " Felix tries to keep me on the bed, not allowing me to stand up. "I-it's alright.." I say, after all, i'm not your dear Valery.. But he was right. This body is way too weak and fragile, and I fell immediately. "I'll have to ask the emperor to give me some days off to watch over you, Valery. " He chuckles. As I remember, Felix is the emperor's knight, claude..
I honestly had a huge crush on Claude, but now that I actually live in this world, I need to be careful, after all, i have important knowledge that can help saving Claude later on. "No dear, i'll watch over Valery, you have to remain by the emperor's side. " The woman who is supposedly Valery's mother, looked at her son in sorrowful but hopeful eyes. "Yes.. I'll be fine with mother! don't worry about me, brother!" I try to smile as brightly as I can, but this body is exhausted, and clearly unhealthy.
"Ah.. My sweet little sister. Maybe when you'll get better, you can finally meet the princess! I've told her lots about you, and she has always wanted to meet you! " Felix hugs me. Does that mean i'll finally see Athy? or Claude! or even Lucas! all my favorite characters in one place! now that's what i'm talking about!
"you promise, brother?" I hug him back. "Of course! ah.. It's time for me to go. The emperor is looking for me. Behave Valery, don't cause too much trouble, and rest!" he ruffles my hair and leaves. "I think i've rested enough.. Is there any chance I can go out to the garden, mother?" I turn to Valery's mother. I don't know her name either, she was never mentioned too.
"But sweetie! you can barely walk!" she cries even more. "Maybe all I need is some food, to regain my strength!" I say, as i hold her hand. "Hmm. Alright then. We'll prepare your favorite meal! so wait a bit longer, dear! i must inform the nobles of this miracle!" she softly kisses my forehead, but i can still see her sad and worried eyes, even if she tries to hide them. I feel quite bad, i'm taking their lovely daughter and sister's place.. They have been waiting for this moment for 3 years, and instead of Valery, it's me who wakes up.
I try standing up again, and slowly make it. I walk towards the mirror, and the sight i see is..Beautiful! Valery truly is beautiful! she seems about 16 year old, like me before i died, she has long and wavy red hair, light blue eyes with tints of emerald, she looks a little like the old me. I'm not half as beautiful, but I had red hair like her, less brighter and longer though, and green eyes. But this Valery has supporting and loving family, unlike me. I was disowned at a young age because my father remarried to another woman, unfortunately for me, she hated me, and of course my pathetic father listened and loved her more than his own child.
I spent my entire life away from people. I never trusted anyone, was a loner and I honestly liked it. Reading manga was my only way to escape reality, it made me feel happy, sad, excited, angry and so much more.
I stare at the mirror for a bit, she's truly gorgeous. "Your food is ready, Valery dear! oh, look at you! my beautiful daughter!" The mother comes in, quite shocked I can walk, and quickly crouches beside me. "My little baby. You have no idea how worried we were.. We still are, but it's incredible. You finally woke up.." She embraced me tightly, and i couldn't hold on the tears any longer. I wonder, why am i crying? she isn't my mother, i'm not Valery. But.. This feeling, my heart aches for them. They must have been suffering quite a bit.
"Now, now. It's all alright. Let's go eat, shall we?" she stands up, holding her hand out for me to take. We sit down, and all i see is a huge feast! how is this just a small meal? all this food is for about 50 people at most! "wooww" i drool looking at all the tasty food presented in front of me. "I'm happy it is to your liking!" she smiles softly. Although i've read multiple mangas, all about nobles and royals, I have no idea how i'm supposed to eat properly or anything like that!
oh well, this girl was in coma for 3 years, so hopefully, i'll be forgiven for this. I try to eat the food as gracefully as i can, like i did in my past life, but they have complete different rules and methods! "oh dear. You probably forgot all about etiquette, is that it, dear?" she laughs.
