-Location: Somewhere in Satellite-
This encounter... could be considered as something that was orchestrated by fate. One that was long in the making... but back then it seemed like it was something else...
Thug ???: OIIII!!! CATCH THAT BRAT!!
A shout could be heard within the night, many footsteps followed after the shout faded away into the deep abyss of the night. It had seemed as if a mob was chasing after something or rather they were chasing someone.
(???): Huff... huff....
A young boy gasped for air as he hid in one of the many alleyways that made out the Satellite as a whole, meanwhile the mob tried oh so desperately to find the young boy hiding.
Boss ???: Find that damned brat!! He took the rare card that we stole from Sector Security!! Find him right now!
Thug ???: Right boss!! We can't let that brat get away with scamming us!!
Thug ???: And to think we accepted him like one of us!! That damned traitor!!
The young lad could hear them all shout as their voices echoed through the night in the empty streets of the Satellite.
(???): I'm not going to be able to make it back to my home safety at this rate...
???: "(Y/N) Dear... are you sure this was the best way to do this..?"
The young boy looked up to the duel monster spirit that appeared right behind him, it was someone that he was very familiar with, it was his very own Maiden with Eyes of Blue duel monster.
(Y/N): Maiden... this was the only way to do this... after all if it's for the sake of uniting you with your friends then I'll take any risk!
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "But... I can't help but worry about what may happen to you..."
(Y/N): You don't have to worry about me, Maiden! I'll be fine!! I just have to outsmart these guys... plus this was worth it! We finally got another one of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards!!
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "You are right... but please (Y/N) dear... stay safe! I couldn't bear the thought of something happening to you..."
(Y/N): It's alright I'll stay safe-...!?
Thug ???: OIIII BOSS I FOUND THE BRAT!!!
Surprised at the sudden discovery of his location, the young boy broke out into a full sprint, as Maiden with Eyes of Blue faded away back to the world of duel monster. Without hesitation the group of thugs and their boss closed in on the young's boy location until eventually he was cornered. At the very moment there were three different adults glaring at the lad with eyes full of rage, readying themselves for what's to come next.
Boss ???: We accepted you as our own... I normally don't take brats in but I had a good feeling about you... but then you pull something like this? What do you have to say for yourself?
(Y/N): I have nothing to say to the likes of you...
Said the young boy with venom in his voice, when suddenly he was kicked in the gut by one of the adults, the force of the kick was strong enough to knock the young lad back crashing into a wall.
Thug ???: Don't you dare talk to the boss like that little brat...
Boss ???: Easy... we're not through with him yet... now where is it?
The young boy slowly got up holding his gut in pain, he then spit some blood out of his mouth, he was in pain, but he stayed resilient.
(Y/N): As if I would ever tell you guys anything...
Boss ???: You got guts kid... that's why I took a liking to you... but... I don't take too kindly to being betrayed!!
The boss said walking towards the lad only to commence a one sided fight, with the young boy on the losing side. The sounds of flesh being beaten could be heard within the cold night in the Satellite, as the young boy tried to defend himself, but to no avail. Until eventually they found it, the prize they seek, they finally found the young's boys deck and with no hesitation took it away from the beaten boy.
Boss ???: Heheh so this is where you were hiding it you little brat...
Thug ???: Hou?! Boss take a look at this?! The brats got a lotta rare cards here?! I haven't even heard of some of these before!!
Thug ???: He's right and look?! He's got another copy of the super rare card the Blue-Eyes White Dragon!
Boss ???: Oh? You were holding back on us huh? You little brat...
The young boy laid there motionless, however when he saw that his deck was in their hands a endless fury come out from within him.
(Y/N): DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH THEM!!
He shouted as he stood up slowly, feeling an aching pain from all over his body. Looking closer the young boy was even bleeding from his nose and mouth, yet despite that and the pain he felt he still stood up.
Thug ???: O-Oi... boss...
Thug ???: Y-yeah look at that kid....
Boss ???: I know... that's not the type of glare just any ordinary kid would give...
On the boys face one could see a look of pure rage, one so fierce that would leave people to wonder just what has this boy been through to make such a face.
Boss ???: Brats like you are the most problematic...
Thug ???: So what should we do with this brat boss?
Thug ???: We can rough him up a bit?
Boss ???: No...
His response shocked his lackeys as they looked at him kinda surprised. He then got a serious look on his face a he began to walk towards the boy.
Boss ???: Just look at him... left like this he'll hunt us down... and I'm not waiting until he becomes a threat to take care of him.
Thug ???: B-but boss... he's just a kid...
Boss ???: Wrong... no kid could ever have this much rage in them... he's nothing but a monster...
As extreme as the boss of the thugs was talking, he was correct. How could a child produce such a face of hatred, a look that showed his intentions to do whatever it took to complete his goal.
In that sense the young boy could be considered a monster...
And one to be eventually feared.
The thugs and their boss walked closer and closer to the young lad preparing to do an unspeakable act, meanwhile the boy was preparing to fight for his cards. The boss then decided to rush the young boy, while also pulling out a pocket knife readying himself to end this all...
That was until...
-SSSSSSSSNNNNNNNKKKKKKK-
All of a sudden something collided with the bosses hand, causing him to drop the pocket knife and to yell out in pain.
Boss ???: AHHH DAMNIT?! What was that?!
He shouted out as his hand started to bleed a bit, wasting no time, young (Y/N) charged the thug and reached into his coat pocket reclaiming his deck of cards. Before the boss could do anything the young boy widen the distance between them until he felt safe.
(Y/N): Thank goodness... I got you all back...
The young boy sighed in relief as he looked at his incomplete deck, he then directed his gaze back towards the thugs. Young (Y/N) wondered what it was that struck the thugs hand... and upon closer inspection he found the cause.
A single duel monsters card now laid on the ground near them.
(Y/N): Was that...? Who could've thrown that?
The young boy wondered as the thugs recovered, they then slowly began to surround the boy once again.
Boss ???: I don't know what you did but you're not going to get away with that!!
The boss raised his fist ready to strike the boy again, only for the same thing to occur, but from a different direction?! This card flew directly towards the boss again causing him to flinch and move out of the way before getting hit again.
Boss ???: What's going on here?!
All of a sudden four shadowy figures emerged from the darkness and surrounded us all. They then spoke out in a deep voice.
????: You think you can come onto our turf...
????: And threaten someone...
????: Only to get away with it....
????: Well you got another thing coming!
The three thugs seemed to be scared by the sudden appearance of this four man group. Almost as if they knew what they were against.
Thug ???: DAMNIT!! I didn't know we came this far up into their turf!!
Thug ???: Boss!! We gotta make a run for it now! I-I-it's!!
Boss ???: I know who it is damnit!! It's Team Satisfaction!! Damnit if you want a duel then we'll take you on!
As soon as the boss said that he and his lackeys readied their duel disk only for something to come from the darkness and latch onto them?!
It all happened in a flash...
Three thugs dueled against the shadowy figure. It was over in an instant, the three thugs stood no chance against the four shadows as they each brought out a synchro monster almost instantly, it was so dark that the young boy couldn't see their monsters. They then each landed a finishing blow ending the duel simultaneously, this in turn caused each of the thugs duel disk's to blow up.
The four shadowy figure closed in on the thugs as they cowered in fear of the coming danger.
All the while..
The young boy looked at them in shock...
Never has he seen such fierce dueling... the young boy wasn't the best duelist out there, it wouldn't even be an exaggeration to say that he knew nothing.
So seeing such fierce dueling was world changing.
Boss ???: Okay... okay we get it... we give up...
The boss said defeated. The four figures then eventually stopped just a bit away from them, they're faces still cloaked by the darkness. They then spoke up against the thugs and said.
????: Now that you know this is our turf, we don't want to see you around here again understood?!
????: And if we ever seeing you threatening anyone again!
????: You better believe that Team Satisfaction...
????: Will hunt you down!
Without giving an answer, the thugs nodded their heads and sprinted straight out of the alley they were in, leaving the young boy and the four mysterious shadows.
'T-they're coming for me?!'
Young (Y/N) thought, not knowing what else to do he stood his ground as they surrounded the young boy and looked at him.
????: Are you okay?
Said a deep and serious sounding voice. (Y/N) looked at them with caution as the person who spoke stepped out of the darkness only to reveal a tan skinned young man with black hair with gold highlights, and dark blue eyes. (Y/N) looked at him in shock... he was expecting something worse then the thugs not someone so young...?
????: Hey Yusei! Is the kid alright?
Said another figure as they stepped out of the darkness only to reveal another young man with dark-grey eyes and brushy-spiked orange hair with a viridian headband embroidered with two rings at the right side. He looked to be concerned for the young lad, which again surprised him.
Yusei: Yeah Crow... he seems to be alright, just a bit shaken up...
????: Yusei!! Crow!! Leave the kid be!! They were after him for a reason, we stepped in and saved him, we've done enough...
Said another rougher and angrier voice as they stepped out of the shadows only to reveal a young man with purple eyes, fair skin and spiked blonde hair, with two much longer strands in front of his ears that hang further down the rest of his hair.
Crow: But Jack we can't just leave the kids out here on his own...
Jack: Tch... we don't have time for this.
Yusei: Jack... we have to help him out!
Jack was about to fight back, if it wasn't for the fourth voice that spoke from the darkness.
????: Now, now no need for fighting! We did well against that group of thugs, we've cleaned up the Satellite just a bit more! Now we have bigger fish to catch...
The young man spoke out, never stepping outside of the shadows. The one known as Yusei then turned to them and asked the one in the shadows a question.
Yusei: But we can't just abandon this kid... what should we do?
????: Yeah you do have a point Yusei... so what do you say kid... wanna come with us?
Said the last figure with a smile on his face as he held out his hand towards the boy.
This was a first time for the boy...
He hasn't experienced much kindness in his life, but they were concerned for him and it surprised him... so much so that he was confused by it...
'Why would they want to help me?'
How thought narrowing his eyes into a glare, as one would expect from someone who hasn't trusted anyone in a long time.
Slowly the young boy reached out his hand seemingly about to grab it...
Only for him to...

Smack his hand away and glare at him.
(Y/N): No way!! You're probably only after my cards!!
The young boy shouted out, causing the one named Jack to give an annoyed look and for the others to give a somewhat shocked look. Jack then charged at the boy and grabbed him by the collar and began to shake him, as Yusei and Crow tried to calm him down.
Meanwhile the last person just laughed in the shadows...
This encounter...
The kindness of four strangers...
And a bond that seemed like it would never break...
Little did young (Y/N) ever know that this would be the start of his destiny...

<Current Time>
-Location: New Domino Stadium-
It was irritating.
The cheers of thousands of people could be heard from the dark isolated room that I was currently in. These people would cheer for anything duel related, but they got most excited when it came to their favorite duelist.
Why were they here you're wondering?
Simple.. it's because of the Fortune Cup, that Goodwin himself organized, is currently occurring at this very moment. I myself am a participant, after the introduction of all the duelist and the king himself, and a speech from Griger, I isolated myself in my private quarters that was given to me, however this doesn't matter...the reason I'm irritated wasn't because of the crowd or the tournament itself...
I was irritated by the organizer himself...
Goodwin.
There I was sitting in a dark room enraged at what I was instructed to do by my employers, I could only grit my teeth as I looked off into the emptiness of this dark room. In the background a faint light could be seen, broadcasting the tournament live.
(Y/N): Those bastards... they're toying with me...
"ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE THE DUELISTS IN THE FIRST MATCHUP!!!"
Said a loud booming voice, it must be the announcer of this damned tournament. After the start of the tournament each of the participants were introduced alongside with the king, Jack Atlas.
(Y/N): That damned Director...
I said silently growling to myself with an enraged look in my eyes. Maiden with Eyes of Blue was right next to me trying to calm me down, but I didn't heed her words.
(Y/N): That damned clown and Director are trying to make a fool out of me... and I won't stand for it...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "(Y/N) dear... please try to remain calm... you don't know their intentions yet so-...
(Y/N): So what?! I'm just going to do as I'm told... then I'll be nothing else but a pawn for Goodwin...
I said slightly snapping at her.. my rage getting the best of me at this moment. Maiden stayed silent for a bit, realizing what I did, I was quick to apologize.
(Y/N): Forgive me Maiden... I just can't stand it when I'm looked down on...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "You have no need to apologize to me (Y/N) dear. There's nothing in this world that could ever make me upset at you, but please tell me what it is that has you so angered?"
(Y/N): I had just received orders from that clown Lazar... orders that came directly from Goodwin himself... my first duel is against someone who isn't even a Signer... and they expect me to surrender.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "They expect you to forfeit?"
(Y/N): Yeah... looks like I'm a fail safe in case one of the assassins fail to push any of the Signers to the limit...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "And this is why you're angry?"
(Y/N): It's part of the reason... I had hoped to face off against Yusei... but as things are going now that might not happen until the finals... and since I have to forfeit I might not be able to make it that far...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "I see... I can understand why you feel this way, (Y/N) dear after all we do have history with him and the current king."
(Y/N): Yeah to think that we would meet again like this... talk about a twist of fate...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "Or destiny... as if something brought you all together again."
(Y/N): Yeah... all that's missing is Crow and... yeah.... anyways it didn't look like Yusei remembered me...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "Yes... it must've hurt you a bit to not be remembered by someone important to you.."
(Y/N): I don't really blame him to be honest... I would've been surprised if he did remember... after all that happened...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "(Y/N) dear..."
(Y/N): Anyways like I said that's only part of the reason why I'm irritated...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "Then what is the other reason that your are so enraged?"
(Y/N): To think they would involve a child with their plans....
I said staring at the tv screen that was inside my room as I watched the duel continue between the potential Signer, Luna and the assassin from Illiaster, Griger.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "(Y/N) dear..."
(Y/N): If what Goodwin says is true... then these Signers will have to face off against a great evil... and judging by the way this girl duels... she might not be up to par.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "You truly are kind, (Y/N) dear... but do not forget you are also a child..."
(Y/N): We both know I'm way passed the point of an ignorant child...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "Yes... I had wished that you could have lived your life as a normal child, yet...
(Y/N): Don't feel bad... in the end I'm glad this is the way this turned out... after all I got to meet all of you..
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "(Y/N) dear..."
(Y/N): But for this girl... I can't help but pity her... it must be tough to be one of the ones to be burden with the fate of the world...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "It's quite rare for you to be concerned with the lives of others."
(Y/N): Hmph... I could not care if you'd like...
I said slightly pouting, feeling kinda offended that she basically said I didn't have a heart. She only gave a soft smile as she started to brush my hair to the side. Despite being a spirit it was like I could still feel her soft, delicate hand.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "I didn't mean it like that... I'm just glad to see you're acting your age..."
(Y/N): Maiden...?
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: " You've done so much for all of us... and almost reunited us all... but at the cost of your childhood.... I can't help but feel a little guilty..."
(Y/N): Don't be... I did it because I wanted too! So don't take all the credit Maiden!
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "(Y/N) dear... thank you..."
(Y/N): I should be the one thanking you... Maiden!
-KNOCK- -KNOCK- -KNOCK-
The sudden knocking on the door silenced both Maiden and I. Slightly annoyed I went to my door and called out to the person knocking on it.
(Y/N): Who is it?
???: You'd do very well to check your tone with me boy... lest you want to make an enemy of the Director and I.
I recognized that annoying, high pitched voice anywhere...
(Y/N): What do you want clown...?
I said slightly annoyed at his appearance, especially since I was busy talking with Maiden and watching the tournament.
Lazar: Director Goodwin would like to have a word with you... plus it's time for another one of your appointments boy.
(Y/N): Another one? Why does Goodwin need me to go to these appointments so much...
I complained.
A week before the tournament started, Goodwin has instructed me to speak with psychiatrist once a day. Whatever his reasoning are, I haven't the slightest clue, but I didn't question it and did as he said.
His name is Professor Frank...
I don't know much about him or who he is, all I know is that he's hired by Goodwin.
Still I didn't think I would need to have an appointment with him on the day of the Fortune Cup.
Lazar: Come boy.. or are you going to make me wait all day for you?
Said the clown interrupting my thoughts, which again never fails to annoy me.
(Y/N): Fine, I'll be out in a minute clown...
Walking back to where I was sitting I picked up my signature red hat and red jacket, putting them both on. I then proceeded to turn off the t.v in my room and then met up with the clown in the hallway.
Lazar: It's about time boy...
(Y/N): You're lucky I stepped out for you. Anyways enough of this let's hurry this up already...
Lazar: I see that temper of yours hasn't changed...
(Y/N): And I see you're still suspicious as usual....
Lazar: Tch... you annoy me to no end boy... why oh why does Director Goodwin need a rambunctious child for his goals...
(Y/N): Hmph... it makes sense why Goodwin would keep a clown like you in boring place like this...
Lazar: W-w-why you...
Literal sparks could be seen between us as we glared at each other, clearly annoyed at the other we decided to move along quickly not saying another word. Eventually after entering an elevator and then going through a hallway we reached the location where Director Goodwin and the current King Jack Atlas are watching the Fortune Cup. Lazar then announced our arrival to the occupants of the room.
Lazar: Excuse the interruption, but I brought the boy just as you requested, Director Goodwin.
All eyes in the room suddenly fell on me, I couldn't help but stare at the current king himself as he stared back at me. For a brief moment nobody said a word, that was until Goodwin interrupted.
Director Goodwin: You may be wonder why I called for you.
Out of the corner of my eyes, I could see that Jack slightly reacted to my presence, our eyes then locked onto each other. After staring at each other for a good second, I directed my gaze back to Goodwin and replied to him.
(Y/N): Hmph... does it matter what I think. I'm here so let's just get this over with.
Director Goodwin: Straight to the point as usual, I expect nothing less from you. Anyways I figured it was time that you met with our current King, considering the fact that you two may duel if you advance far enough that is.
Jack then interrupted Director Goodwin in a fit of rage he states out with pride and arrogance present in his voice.
Jack: Don't insult me, Goodwin! You think this child has what it takes to beat me?! The King!
Director Goodwin: Now, now King... I said no such thing.
Jack: Hmph... there's only one person who has the right to duel me here today and that's Yusei!
(Y/N): Hmph...
I stayed silent, I then turned away and proceeded to walk towards the exit of the room.
(Y/N): I don't know what it is that you're planning Goodwin, but if that is everything I'll be heading to my appointment with the Professor. It was a pleasure Jack Atlas...
As I was about to walk out, the king himself stopped me by calling out to me.
Jack: Wait!
Jacks sudden outburst seemed to have caught the interest of both Goodwin and the clown, all the while I just merely turned slightly and gazed at him. As I met his gaze, he only stood there looking at me, as if he was trying to grasp something by looking at me.
(Y/N): If you don't mind, King... I'm a little busy right now...
Jack:.. Hmph... very well.
Not saying another word Jack Atlas down right back down allowing me to continue what I was doing, however as I left Goodwin said one last thing.
Director Goodwin: Don't forget your mission today, (L/N) (Y/N)...
Jack seemed to slightly react at the mention of my name, but that didn't stop me as I only nodded to Goodwin and continued on my way. As I was walking through the lit up hallway, I could hear it.
"THERE'S A WINNER!!!! GRIGER IS GOING TO THE SECOND ROUND!!!"
Said the announcer as I looked down feeling slightly bad for that girl. Maiden then appeared beside me as she shared her thoughts on what she just heard.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: " It seems like the match has already been decided..."
(Y/N): Yeah... that poor girl didn't have it within her to win... and she's suppose save the world...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "(Y/N) Dear... no need to be so hard on her. I'm sure she'll be ready for what's to come."
(Y/N): If you say so... anyways come on I gotta go see the Professor before my match begins. If I remember correctly next up is the match with the Black Witch, then it's Yuesei's match, and lastly my match.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "That is correct.. please (Y/N) Dear tread carefully... I feel like something big is going to happen in this tournament."
(Y/N): I know Maiden... I can't help but feel that too, but don't worry... I'll be careful.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "Thank you, (Y/N) Dear...
With that Maiden faded away back into her own world, the Duel Monsters Spirit World. She's told me stories about it before and apparently I've been there, not that I can remember that is.
'Oh well...'
I thought to myself as I eventually reached the elevator and proceeded to go to the floor where I usually went to to visit the Professor.
'I wonder what today's session will be about today hopefully it won't mess with the tournament...'
Lost in thought I didn't realize that I would soon be reaching my floor, that was until I heard the elevator ring.
-DIIIINNNG-
Hearing the sound of the elevator reaching its floor and noticing the sudden opening of the elevator doors, I proceeded to walk into the well lit hallways before me. For a heavy sigh, I made my way down the hallway, passing may doors to the one room that I knew the Professor was waiting for me in. After finally reaching his door, I knocked on it and announced my presence.
(Y/N): Professor Frank, it's me again. I'm here for another session.
I said plainly, not interested in doing this at all. Waiting a bit I then heard someone from behind the door and not too long after it was opened and revealed a plain looking man.
Professor Frank: Ahh (Y/N). I've been expecting you, Director Goodwin has instructed me to give you one final session before you start in the tournament today. How about you come in and we begin?
(Y/N): ~Sigh~ Not like I have an option...
I said feeling unpleasant about the whole situation, this guy always gave me the creeps, so I dreaded the thought of having to spend more time with him today. Still, doing as he said, I walked in and sat in down in a chair he had readied for me, for this certain occasion.
Professor Frank: So before we began, I have to ask how are you feeling today?
There was a brief moment of silence... I hesitated to tell him the truth or not, but in the end I just decided to give him a brief answer.
(Y/N): I'm doing fine I guess...
Professor Frank: Hmm that's not the way I see it.. you seem to be stressed out... is there a reason to that...?
Damn perceptive old man...
Despite being called out in the matter, I still didn't feel like discussing this with someone I didn't trust, so I tried to move past this topic.
(Y/N): Look as much as I would like to tell you my sad, depressing backstory, I rather not so let just move on with the session.
This caused Professor Frank to give out a small smile while he had his eyes closed. Trying to give off a sincere look, but I get the feeling he didn't mean it.
Professor Frank: Very well then. Let us commence the session.
Professor Frank then reached for what I could only assume was his duel disk, he then proceeded to attack it to his wrist and then drew a card from his deck. Without even looking at it he summoned it instantly, using the hologram technology of the duel disk he summoned a duel monster.
Professor Frank: I summon Symmetry Rorschach!
He said summoning a purple looking blob that had no specific shape or form. After summoning it, Professor Frank turned to me and asked a specific question.
Professor Frank: Now (Y/N), when you look at my monster, what is it that you see?
(Y/N): What is is that I see huh...?
I couldn't help but stare intensely at Professor Frank's monster, for a good while it looked like a purple blob, but then it suddenly took on a certain shape. My eyes widen as a look of realization hit my face, the shape that his monster took was none other than a card that was given to me, it was Sphere Kuriboh?!
(Y/N): It looks like Sphere Kuriboh?!
Professor Frank: Hou? Sphere Kuriboh?
(Y/N): Yeah... Sphere Kuriboh...
As I said that, I began to feel sightly light headed as Professor Frank began to ask his questions, like he does ever session.
Professor Frank: Tell me, why is this monster special to you, (Y/N)?
(Y/N): Special... all my monsters are special to me, but this card... it was a gift from Yusei...
I said giving a response without much thought at all... instead of feeling light head, my head began to feel a bit fuzzy as I continued looking at the Professor's monster.
Professor Frank: A gift from Yusei?! You have a relationship with Fudo Yusei?
(Y/N): Yeah..
Professor Frank: Interesting... so tell me why is this in your mind?
(Y/N):... It's been a long time since I last seen them....
Professor Frank: Them?

I couldn't focus... my mind felt so cloudy... that I couldn't really concentrate on my thoughts and only responded.

As I spoke Professor Frank's monster then began to change shape again until eventually it turned into the shape of a wyvern.
(Y/N): Jack... gave me Assault Wyvern... and Yusei gave me...
Once again thenProfessor's monster changed shape again, it changed back into Sphere Kuriboh.
(Y/N): Yusei gave me Sphere Kuriboh... and my hat....
I said while subconsciously grabbing the vizor of my hat. I could feel my vision start to get hazy as I continued talking.
(Y/N): They b-both are like... older brothers to me... b-but they p-probably don't remember me...
Professor Frank: And why would you say that?
He asked seemingly confused by what I just stated, lost in thought I started to speak about what happened.
(Y/N): A-an accident occurred back then... there was a fire... t-they were after me... they caused so much trouble... s-so I left... after that day... I haven't seen them...
Professor Frank: You've left quite a lot out, but from what you stated, I'm assuming because of this incident you were separated from them... is that right?
(Y/N): Mhmm...
I nodded my head a yes, as Professor Frank began to write down something related to what I just said.
Professor Frank: Thank you, (Y/N). Now then let's move on to the main reason you are here today. Let us talk about your past, more specifically the Spirit World.
(Y/N): Spirit World...
Professor Frank: Yeah... a world inhabited by duel monsters... for such a world to exists and only be exposed to a certain few is a marvel... so what do you remember about it, (Y/N)?
In my lost state, I didn't realize the sinister look that Professor Frank had in his face the whole time he spoke.
(Y/N): The Spirit World... I-I don't remember much about it...
Professor Frank: Think back on it, (Y/N). You remember a lot more then you think...

He said anticipating what I was about to say, only to be disappointed as I said this.
(Y/N): I don't remember... but Maiden said d-during that time I was in the Spirit World...
Professor Frank: I see...
He looked slightly disappointed as I looked up to him, noticing my gaze he calmed himself and gave a smile.
Professor Frank: It's quite alright, but I hope you realize the reason for these sessions, (Y/N).
(Y/N):....
Professor Frank: The Signer that you're assigned too has also made contact with the Spirit World... that connection alone should be able to spark her Signer Mark... the Director and I have high hopes for you.
(Y/N): Yes Professor Frank...
My vision was dim... I couldn't really comprehend what was going on, but I couldn't help but agree to everything he said... I couldn't help but wonder why?
Professor Frank: Now, now... it's about time we end this session... not to mention you're duel is about to begin...
He stated turning on the television in his room, revealing that Yusei himself won his current duel ?!
"ITS OVER!!!! WITH AN EXCELLENT COMBO, YUSEI HAS GAINED A COME-FROM-BEHIND VICTORY!!"
This seemed to have snapped me out of whatever trance I was in. Seeing Yusei win was expected, but still I couldn't help but smile a bit from seeing it.
Professor Frank: Seeing that it's come down to this... you know what you have to do for your next duel do you not, (Y/N)?
The Professor said cutting in, he looked at me with a serious look in his eye. I gained an annoyed look understanding what it meant and was about to say something that was until...
Professor Frank:... And remember... when the portal of the Duel Monsters Spirit World is open our light shall be revealed...
Hearing those words caused my mind to become fuzzy once again... as all I could do was reply with a yes.
(Y/N): Understood Professor Frank...
Professor Frank: Good... now go onto your next duel... (Y/N) and remember the plan...
(Y/N): Yeah...
With not much thought I walked out to ready myself for my upcoming duel... little was I aware of the plan that was being out into place for me...
There stood Professor Frank at his door with a satisfied look on his face, as someone in the background spoke up to him...
Lazar: Is everything prepared...?
Professor Frank: Yes... though it was a bit difficult given his attitude... but now he should give us no problems...
Lazar: Excellent... I shall let the Director know of your success.
Professor Frank: Mhm... still it's going to be interesting seeing two visitors of the Spirit World clash in a duel... I'm almost envy them...
Lazar: If it's all the same too you Professor, I would've have much preferred you to duel against the girl then this boy... but the Director has great plans for him too...
Professor Frank: I understand... I will be on standby until it is time for the boy to duel...
Lazar: Understood... thank you again for all your hard work Professor.
And with that Lazar began to walk away with a sinister smile on his faces, all the while Professor Frank had a look of his own...

Amazing!
I thought to myself as I looked at Yusei. He just defeated an opponent in the tournament and will proceeded to the next round! I couldn't help but be happy for him!
Leo: HE DID IT!! YUSEI WON!!
Leo suddenly shouted out as he looked towards the stadium in glee.
Yanagi: Bro, you're a incredible!!
Mr. Yanagi said also excited about the victory that Yusei had just achieved. We all then saw Yusei stop his D-Wheel and got off of it, he then walked over to his opponent Hunter Pace. They both traded a few world, but I couldn't really make out what they were saying.
Leo: Hmm I wonder what Yusei and Hunter are talking about....
Luna: I sure it's nothing to worry about, it is Yusei after all!
Leo: Yeah you're right! Hmm I wonder when th next match is going to sta-...
And just as Leo began his sentence he was caught off by the announcer.
"EVERYBODY LISTEN!!!! IT IS TIME TO COMMENCE THE FOURTH ROUND!!!"
As he said that the whole stadium erupted into a cheer. Meanwhile the participants from the last round, Yusei and Hunter Pace made their way back.
"NOW OUR FIRST DUELIST MAKES HIS WAY HERE!!! A DUELING WORKER HERE COMES.... COMMANDER KODA!!!!"
The announcer called out the first participant of the the fourth round of the preliminaries. From beneath the stage, the participant Commander Koda rose from the stage, it was a man with ash green hair wearing a green suit and a pair of glasses on his face. As he rose from the stage the crowd went wild for him as they did any other participant.
"HEY EVERYBODY!!! IF THAT'S GOT YOU HEATED UP LET HERE IT UP FOR OUR NEXT DUELIST!!!"
The crowd yet again went crazy for the next participant that was about to appear.
"NOW OUR SECOND DUELIST IS THE SECOND YOUNGEST OUR TOURNAMENT!!!! I'M SURE HIS FRIENDS ARE ENVIOUS OF HIM!!! HIS NAME IS ONE FOR THE BOOKS!!! GIVE UP FOR THE BLUE-EYED PRINCE, (Y/N)!!!!

This surprised me... I wasn't expecting anyone else to be around my age.
And just like that the next duelist also rose from the stage revealing a boy my age, probably a year or two older, with (H/C) colored hair covered by a red hat, black shirt, red jacket, black pants and a pair of boots.
Aside from that I couldn't really tell anything else about his features... I don't know why but I couldn't really take my eyes off of him...?

Hearing the voice of my duel monster Kuriboh snapped me out of my trance.
Luna: Kuribon...? What's wrong?
I asked turning towards Kuribon with a concerned look on my face.

Luna: You sense it too huh...? There's something about that boy.. I wonder what it i-..
I was suddenly cut off by my sometimes to loud twin brother, Leo.
Leo: AHHHHHH!!!! IT'S MR. CRACKY PANTS!!!! DEXTER YOU REMEMBER HIM RIGHT!!
Leo said looking towards our long time friend, Dexter. He's a boy around our age with brown hair and glasses who happens to share Leo's love for dueling which is why he joined us to watch the Fortune Cup.
Dexter: You're right.. I remember him he's the one that beat you pretty badly...
Leo: G-GAHH?! H-he didn't beat me that badly... besides I wasn't even trying...
Luna: So that the boy you've been telling me about? The one who beat you?
Leo: Yeah that's him!! I knew he'd be apart of the tournament... but I'm not gonna lie I kinda forgot about him...heheh!
Leo said scratching the back of his head as he gave a small smile and a laugh, I could only sigh in the antic of my brother.
Luna: You made him sound like a rival to you and then you forget him.. sometimes I can't believe you Leo...
Leo: Ehh it's fine!
"EVERYBODY LISTEN!!!! NOW THAT OUR TWO DUELIST HAVE SHAKEN HANDS, LET'S GET THIS DUEL ON WAY!!!"
As the announcer said that both Leo and I directed our attention back to the stage. In that instant both duelist readied up and immensity started the duel!

Hearing this Leo spoke up as if he was expecting something.
Leo: Knowing that guy he's probably gonna say something back...
Luna: How do you know that?
I questioned turn my attention back on to him only to see him shrug.
Leo: Just trust me... that's how he acted around me! He's the proud type!
Luna: If you say so...
I then turned my attention back onto the boy... for some reason I felt something weird every time I looked at him, but I decided to ignore it and continued to watch the duel.
(Y/N): I draw...
(Y/N) said as he drew a card from his deck, I then looked back at Leo and questioned him sarcastically.
Luna: I thought he was the proud type...?
Leo: S-shut up! He was that way when we dueled! I don't know why he's acting different now!
Yanagi: Maybe he's just shy with a crowd watching him?
Yanagi said cutting in, it's true that might be it, but for some reason I don't think that's the reason... (Y/N) suddenly spoke which brought our attention back to the duel.
(Y/N): From my hand activate the spell Cards of Consonance. By discarding one dragon turner from my hand with 1000 ATK points or less, I can draw two cards..
As he said that he did as he said he would and sent a card from his hand to the graveyard and then drew two cards from his deck. He took a single glance and then began to act.
(Y/N): Now since I sent The White Stone of Legend to the grave, I activate it's effect which allows me to add one Blue-Eyes White Dragon from my deck to my hand...
As he said that, his duel disk shuffled his deck until eventually a card stuck out from it, which he then proceeded to draw it.
(Y/N): Now I summon Keeper of Dragon Magic in attack mode and set two cards face down and end my turn.
As he did this a knight wielding a spear in blue armor appeared right in from of (Y/N) as did two face down cards.

He then proceeded to end his turn with that.
(Y/N): I end my turn....

Commander Koda: Hmph is that it? I spent my time researching you and am fully aware of what monsters your deck possess, that's why I made this deck with the very purpose of defeating you! Draw!!
Commander Koda shouted out as he drew a card from his deck and took a glance at it. Then he placed it in his other hand and picked another card to play.
Commander Koda: From my hand, I summon Dragon Piper in defense position!
With that a strange looking monster mixed with the colors of blue, yellow, purple, and white holding a flute appeared on his side of the field.

Commander Koda: I then place three cards face down and end my turn!
With that said and done, three face down cards appeared on his side of the field and he then ends his turn.
Leo: EHHHHH?! Just that!! B-but!!
Leo started panicking as he said that, I looked at him slightly annoyed.
Luna: Leo what are you even saying?
Leo: He only summoned a monster with 200 ATK points and 1800 DEF points... Mr. Cranky pants over there can summon powerfully monsters like it's nothing!
Luna: Hmm really..?
Yanagi: Yeah it's true!! Seen it with my own eyes!! He summoned the legendary Blue-Eyes White Dragon!
Tanner: It was rather impressive...
A bulky man with blue spiked up hairs named Tanner commented. This left me astounded as I could only whisper the monster they just named.
Luna: The Blue-Eyes White Dragon...
I could only look back at the duelist my age curiously, as the duel continued on with (Y/N)'s turn.
<<Turn 3>>
(Y/N): It's my turn... I draw... from my hand I summon Protector with Eyes of Blue in attack position...
Putting down the card on his duel disk, he summons a muscular young man with light blue hair, wearing armor and wielding a long sword based off a certain dragon. As the monster appeared on the field, I couldn't help but notice it slightly turned back and looked at (Y/N), with a concerned look on its face.
(Y/N): I active Protector with Eyes of Blue effect... by targeting one effect monster on my field and sending it to the Graveyard, I can special summon one Blue-Eyes monster from my hand. I choose Protector with Eyes of Blue and use him to special summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon...
He then proceeded to send Protector with Eyes of Blue to the graveyard and from his hand he summoned what I think is his ace monster! From his side of the field a magnificent, ferocious, white dragon with blue eyes appeared on the field and let out a mighty roar.
(Y/N): I summon him in attack position... rise...

Commander Koda: Hmph so that's the legendary dragon monster huh...? Interesting...
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN MY EYES MUST BE PLAYING TRICKS ON ME!!! CAUSE IF NOT IM REALLY AM LOOKING AT ONE OF THE RAREST CARDS IN ALL OF DUEL MONSTERS!!!"
As the announcer said that it sent the crowd I. A roaring frenzy! I could even hear some of them cheer for (Y/N) now.
Leo: It's here!!! His ace monster!
Leo shouted out in shock as I could only stare I. In amazement. Even Dexter, Yanagi and Tanner were amazed at it sight.
Dexter: S-so that's the legendary card?!
Tanner: Doesn't matter how many times I see it... it's still impressive...
Yanagi: I agree... rare cards like that are why I'm glad I lived this long!!!
Yanagi said tearing up a bit as I could only continued looking on amazed by its sight... yet I can't help but feel like I've seen this card before..?
Leo: Luna are you alright?!
Luna: H-huh?
I said snapping out of my trance yet again only to see Leo looking at me with concern in his eyes.
Luna: I-I'm okay.. it's just I can't help but feel like I've seen that card before...?
Leo: Well duh of course you have! It's super famous and rare for a reason! Everyone's heard about that card!

In the tower where the current king and the Director were overseeing the events of the Fortune Cup, a sudden shout disrupted that.
???: A BLUE-EYES WHITE DRAGON?!
Shouted out the current king as he directed a glare to none other then the director of the Fortune Cup. He then walked up to him and grabbed it by the helm of his shirt.
Director Goodwin: Now, now King... what seems to have you in such a bad mood?
Jack: Enough with your games Goodwin! That boy... tell me his name!
Director Goodwin: Hmm why the sudden interest in the boy... I thought your only goal was Yusei...?
Jack: Just tell me!
Director Goodwin: Very well... if that's what the King wants he shall get.. his name is (L/N) (Y/N) like you he's from the Satellite.. the announcer did mention that did he not? Anyways...
Goodwin was about to continue, that was until he noticed the shock expression on Jack's face, his eyes were wide in shock.
Jack: That's impossible...
Director Goodwin: What do you mean, King?
Jack: T-that boy you just mentioned... there's no way that could be him...
Director Goodwin: King, you're not making any sense right now?
Jack: It can't be him... (L/N) (Y/N) that kid died a long time ago...

A certain young man with spiky black hair and gold highlights, was currently watching the duel from another location in New Domino Stadium. His eyes were slightly wide from shock as he watched the screen before him.
???: Yusei? Is everything alright? You seem like you've seen a ghost.
A bulky, dark skinned male with long black hair said sitting right next to him. He too was watching the duel and didn't understand what could have shocked the calm, level head man next to him.
Yusei: I-it's just as I thought... it really is you... (Y/N)... how could I not realize this any sooner...
???: Yusei?
Hearing that Yusei snapped back into reality and looked towards the fellow duelist that was sitting next to him.
Yusei: It's nothing, Griger...
Not wanting to push any further, Griger simply nodded as they both feel back into silence and continued to watch the duel.
~Back to Luna~
As the crowd was still gossiping about (Y/N)'s monster, Commander Koda didn't seem all that worried about it... almost as if he was expecting it.
Commander Koda: Hehehe I have to commend you for summoning such a powerful monster... but... I anticipated this... I active my trap card!
He said pressing a button on his duel disk activating the trap card on his field.
Commander Koda: I activate Dragon Capture Jar!
As his said the the card flipped around on his field and summoned a golden jar with the face of a dragon on it! In that instant the jar cover both of his dragons with an aura and switched them to defense mode.
Commander Koda: Heh... as you know this changes all dragon-type monsters to defense mode and they can't be changed back as long as this car is on the field!
(Y/N): I... I end my turn...
(Y/N) said turning it over to Commander Koda, with that in tow Commander Koda commended his turn.
<<Turn 4>>
Commander Koda: I draw! Heh... just as I anticipated... I now summon Dragon Capture Jar!
This seemed to have shocked the crowd, seeing as he just used that same card as a trap not too long ago.
"EHHHHH WHAT'S THIS?! IT LOOKS LIKE THE DUELING WORKER SUMMONED A TRAP CARD AS A MONSTER!!!"
Commander Koda: Are you surprised I'm sure you are! This card was printed out as a monster long ago and I managed to get a copy of it!
(Y/N):....
Commander Koda: Hmm... I knew something was off about you... I guess this is what you have planned huh... Goodwin? Regardless, I activate it's effect! While this card is on the field, I can absorb all dragon monster on the field!
As he said that the Dragon Capture Jar began to radiate a strange red aura around (Y/N)'s dragons as a vortex of wind began to come from the jar. It only took a matter of seconds and just like that they were absorbed.
Both his Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Keeper of Dragon Magic were suddenly gone from his side of the field, effectively leaving his field empty!
Commander Koda: I then play the spell card Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy my trap card, Dragon Capture Jar!!
Activating his spell card, a typhoon appeared from his side of the field destroying his own trap card.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, THE DUELING WORKER DESTROYED HIS OWN TRAP?!"
Commander Koda: The reason I did it will make sense in a bit! I know activate Dragon Piper's effect! I can choose one dragon-type monster that my Dragon Capture Jar has caught and bring it to my side of the field! And I choose the Blue-Eyes White Dragon!
(Y/N):...!?

Commander Koda: Hahahaha nice to have a powerful monster on my side of the field... the same monster you went to such great lengths to achieve... huh kid?

As the mighty dragon with blue eyes emerged from the pot and onto Commander Koda's field. That's when I noticed it, for the first time, I saw some emotion on (Y/N)'s face. For the most part he was emotionless until now, however I sooner noticed his face slowly reverted back into its emotionless state.
(Y/N): Y-you bastard....
He started only for him to stop... he then looked towards the Commander with an emotionless stare. The strange feeling I had every time I saw him came back... I wonder why that is?
Commander Koda: Hmph... with this all the pieces are set, first I switch Dragon Piper into attack mode!

As I was watching the duel intently, Leo just had to but in again...
Leo: EHHH WHY WOULD HE DO THAT!! I mean it's not like he's in any danger from it since he took all of Mr. Cranky pants monsters but still...
Dexter: He's probably got something planned out since he still has some cards left...
Dexter cut in being the voice of reason as usual, Leo then agreed with him.
Leo: Oh yeah you're probably right... you think with one card he's gonna pull the win?
Luna: No I don't think so...
Leo then looked at me as if I were crazy, which again caused me to sightly get annoyed by my bothers antics.
Leo: What the heck are you talking about Luna! It makes sense! Cranky Pants doesn't have any monsters and Koda does!
Luna: Duh that much is obvious! But don't forget that (Y/N) has two face downs remember dummy!
Leo: Ehh...?
He blinked a couple times until he looked shocked by what I just said.
Leo: Oh yeah I forgot about that... I wonder why he hasn't used and of them yet...?
Dexter: Who knows...?
Then Commander Koda spoke out, as he held up a card in his hand.
Commander Koda: I activate the spell card Shield & Sword! This switches the original ATK and DEF of all face-up monsters currently on the field, until the end of this turn!
I was surprised that he did this in all honestly..,
With that card in play, the Blue-Eyes White Dragon and the Dragon Piper on his field both gave out a noise of their own as their ATK and DEF points switched.

As he uttered that command, the Dragon Piper played a small tune with it flute and then brought it out of its mouth and charged at (Y/N).
(Y/N):....?!
A sudden reaction emerged from the young boy as he brought his arms up bracing for the attack, the Dragon Piper then attacked him using his flute dealing 1800 pints of damage!

I once again saw a look of emotion on (Y/N)'s face yet again, but this time of pure anger... I wonder what could be going through his mind?
Commander Koda: Now then! Time to end this duel! Go Blue-Eyes White Dragon... End this duel!

The Blue-Eyes White Dragon gave a mighty roar as it began to charge up for its attack, as all this was happening I noticed (Y/N)'s hand twitch slightly as his hand itched towards his duel disk in an attempt to activate something...
But then...

All of a sudden I heard this ringing noise... my head began to hurt as I heard this noise.. looking up I could see that (Y/N) had the same reaction.
Leo: Luna are you alright?!
Leo said cutting in as my head was still pounding, he looked at me with concern in his eyes and with a worried tone asked away, but as I was about to reply the pain stopped all of a sudden.
Luna: Y-yeah I'm okay.. m-my head just started hurting... but I'm okay now...

The sudden sound of an explosion caused our attention to once again to the duel... what just occurred was shocking...
(Y/N) was defeated by his own monster...
The fierce attack connected with I'm causing a mighty explosion, as a result I and most of the crowd could feel the wind pressure from that attack.
"LISTEN EVERYBODY!!! IT LOOKS LIKE THAT THIS DUEL IS DECIDED!!! THE WINNER IS COMMANDER KODA!!!!!"

As the smoke cleared, both Leo and I looked to see that (Y/N) was on one defeated. This shocked us both of course, but he should've been able to do something else with his face downs right...?

We both gasped in shock as we saw the unexpected outcome.
~Meanwhile~
Jack Atlas... for once in this entire tournament he was speechless. A look of shock was on his face as he heard about the tale of how he came to encounter (Y/N).
Jack: To think he went through that...
Director Goodwin: I take it you didn't know about his past then...?
Jack: No... back then he never really spoke about his past every time we asked he would just get quite...
Director Goodwin: How odd for all of you to be reunited like this... this is nothing more but the fruits of destiny preparing you all for your greater purpose. I am curious however how it is you came into contact with him?
Jack: Hmph... I'll tell you if you explain your plans with him! Just what are you planning!?
Director Goodwin: Very well King... The reason I brought him into this is the very same reason why I gathered you all.
Jack: But how does this involve (Y/N)! You said it yourself he's not a Signer!
Director Goodwin: You are correct... but there is more to it then I've said.

Goodwin calmly sat in his chair while overlooking the results of the duel, a satisfied smirk on his face almost as if he expected this.
Director Goodwin: King... I've explained to you that the Crimson Dragon has always chosen five to wield its signs, but what would you say if that weren't always the case.
Jack: I'd say you're crazy... but you'd know more about this then I would! Now cut the small talk what are you getting at!
Director Goodwin: There are multiple records of there being more then just five signers in certain periods of time. As such there are more Signer Dragons that we may not know of.
Jack: What?!
Director Goodwin: The means of how they achieve this or the limit of how many Signers there can be at a time are unknown to me... but I do know this...
Jack looked at Goodwin in suspense, only for him to look back with an almost all knowing smile.
Director Goodwin: The warrior's who have been blessed by the Crimson Dragon to tame other dragons have all come together under young (Y/N)'s control, plus the card I gave him recently accepted him..
Jack:.....?!
Director Goodwin: (Y/N) may very well have the potential to become a Signer!
~Elsewhere in New Domino Stadium~
Yusei slightly glared at the television he was watching the duel on. It seems that this outcome came as a surprise to him as well.
Griger: Everything alright Yusei?
Yusei: (Y/N)... he wouldn't have lost that easily...
Griger: Hmm you mean the kid? Hmph... Goodwin did have some plans for him, but that's as much as I know about it...
Yusei: It just isn't like him to lose like that...
Griger: Hou? You speak as if you know him?
Yusei caught himself as Griger said that and calmed himself.
Yusei: Forget it...
With that the room went silent again as they both turned they're attention back to the screen, waiting for the Fortune Cup to continue.
~Somewhere else in New Domino Stadium~
???: Hehehe, the Director sends you his thanks Professor.
Said a high pitched voice located somewhere within the New Domino Stadium. It seemed as this voice was talking to himself but from the shadows stepped out a certain man.
???: That boy and his unbearable attitude would have made our goals a bit more complicated which is why we're thankful to you. Using your special skill to make him throw the match was rather impressive.
The man in the shadows was smirking quite sinisterly as he heard this, the outcome seemed to have gone his way.
???: Hehehehe for our next duel we'd like to rely on your skills again, this is the test for both the boy and the girl after all...
The Professor: I shall make sure not to fail...
???: Very good...
With that, he turned away from the man in the shadows and began to walk away. The sound of his footstep got further and further away indicating that he was gone.. leaving the Professor all alone.
The Professor: Hehehe... soon... soon I'll be able to make it to the Spirit World... HEHEHEHEHEH!!!!!
He broke out into laughter, meanwhile the emotion on his face, was nothing but malice and ill intent towards his target..
~Back to Luna~
I was pretty shocked that the duel ended the way it did and I could tell that Leo and the others were just as shocked.
Luna: B-but I thought that (Y/N) was gonna use a trap?!
Leo: Yeah... I-I can't believe he lost like that...
The stadium went in a frenzy at the outcome of the duel, it was kinda sad to be honest... they were cheering for (Y/N) at first but now they completely forgotten about him...
Though a question still linger at my mind as I looked at the boy my age...
I don't know why, but I couldn't help but wonder why he lost that duel... I got the feeling that his traps weren't bluffs... but if that's the case... why?

I could hear it... a voice calling out to me... but it was all blurry. As I focused my vision I began to see someone I was familiar with...

Jack: ENOUGH (Y/N)!!! Focus on the duel!
I was shocked at Jack suddenly shouting, looking around I had a duel disk on my right arm, and I was holding onto cards in my hand. On my field their was an Assault Wyvern and on Jack's field was his ace monster Red Dragon Archfiend.

(Y/N): S-sorry Jack...
Jack: Hmph... you asked us to show you how to duel... so you better believe I'm going to show you right! Now what's the most important thing in a duel!
(Y/N): P-power!
Jack gave a smirk as I said that, as I looked at him it felt surreal... I felt like I was doing something important... but what was it?
Jack: Good! Now then you have your back against a corner! What do you do!
(Y/N): You fight back!
Jack: Right! Now act!
(Y/N): B-but I don't know what to do...?
Jack: Look at your cards and act! Remember there's no room for weakness! (Y/N)!!
(Y/N): Y-yes!
Looking at my cards, I noticed I had three left in my hand... a Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Blue-Eyes Solid Dragon, and my last card is Successor Soul. Seeing that card, I made a plan form in my mind... so I acted out upon it.
(Y/N): I activate the spell card Successor Soul! By targeting one effect monster I control and one that you control and by sending both to the graveyard I can special summon one level 7 or higher normal monster from my hand or deck!
Activating my spell, the card flipped over on my side of the field and activated its effect!
(Y/N): And I choose Assault Wyvern and your Red Dragon Archfiend!
Two blue waves came from my card and then enveloped both Assault Wyvern and Red Dragon Archfiend. Just as the effect was about to take place I heard a scoff from Jack.
Jack: Good... but not enough!!! I activate my face down! Solemn Judgement!
As he said that his face down flipped over revealing the trap card that Jack mentioned, Solemn Judgement.
(Y/N): EEEEEEHHHHHHH?!
Jack: With that said and done it negates that activation of you spell card at the cost of half of my life points! Now there's nothing you can do! So end you turn!
Just the lighting emitted from the card and struck my spell card, Successors Soul, which effectively negated the effect of my card. This action caused me to fluster up a bit, so with mother other options I did the only thing I could do.
(Y/N): I-I end my turn...

Jack: Now... Red Dragon Archfiend! End this duel! Attack his Assault Wyvern!
With his command Red Dragon Archfiend charged up to attack and destroyed my monster while simultaneously ending the duel instantly. With a fiery punch from his mighty dragon, my life points diminished causing me to fall on the ground in defeat, a noticeable frown on my face.
(Y/N): I-I lost... again...
Jack: Hmph... you'll never become a good duelist like this (Y/N)!!! You need to toughen up and gather more power! Without it you'll keep facing loss after loss!
(Y/N): I-I understand Jack...
???: You shouldn't be so hard on him, Jack. After all I think he's fine the way he is...
Said another deep voice entering the room, I looked towards them to see who it is and it turned out to be Yusei.
Jack: Hmph no one asked you, Yusei.
Yusei: You may be right... but still (Y/N) you don't have to copy Jack, Crow.. or me, you just have to find your own way of dueling.
He said walking up to me with a smile on his face, he then as gently as he could, gave me a pat on the head and then placed a red hat on my head.
Yusei: Heh... I found this and thought it would suit you.. what do you think?
I carefully lifted it up from my head and got a good look at it... and instantly fell in love with it! With a bright closed eyed smile, I said with much affection.
(Y/N): I love it!! Thanks Yusei!
Suddenly my eyes shot open as I noticed a certain smell...
The smell of smoke...
The scene around me was now completely different from what it was before, Jack and Yusei were no longer standing with me... it was almost as if they vanished.
As I looked up I noticed something terrible...
(Y/N): M-Martha's orphanage is in flames?!
The shock from seeing my current home up in flames was enough for me to take action, but no matter how much I tired, I couldn't move at all! I felt despair as I couldn't do anything for them and beyond that feeling...
I also felt guilt...
But why..?
Why did I feel so much guilt?!
It's not like it was my doing right?! Right?!
Right....?
"(Y...."
(Y/..."
"(Y/N)!"
"(Y/N)!!!"
Called out a voice, calling my name once again... this time it reached me. I could hear it loud and clearly, this in turned caused the scene to change once again... next thing I realize is that I'm in a stadium with thousands of people watching me...?
(Y/N): W-what happened...?
I asked lost in a daze as it all started to hit me... next thing I noticed was the Maiden with Eyes of Blue was calling out to me with concern present in her eyes.
(Y/N): Maiden...?
Maiden With Eyes of Blue: "Thank goodness! (Y/N) Dear are you alright?"
(Y/N): Yeah... what happened to me...?
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "You mean you don't remember anything that just happened...?"
(Y/N): No... where am I? Was I in a duel?
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "Mhmm you did, you were dueling against someone in the Fortune Cup remember?"
(Y/N): The Fortune Cup... that's right!
I said as I rose to my feet getting a good look around trying to piece together what just happen, I was cut off by the announcer.
"HEYYY EVERYBODY!!! LET'S GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR OUR CONTESTANTS!! WITH THAT THE PRELIMINARIES COME TO A STUNNING CONCLUSION!!!"
By the looks of it... and based off what he said, it seems like I lost the duel I was participating in. I couldn't help but wonder what was going on... or why I couldn't remember the duel?
That's when it hit me...
Immediately I directed a glare to the one person I knew held all the answers... Goodwin. He was still sitting next to the king in their watch tower, overseeing the entire tournament.
(Y/N): That bastard... he's probably behind this... so that how you intended for me to lose the duel.. but how...?
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "I'm just glad you're okay, (Y/N) Dear... I was almost as if someone was controlling you..."
(Y/N): Yeah... don't you worry... I will get answers...
I then looked towards my previous opponent just to see that he was heading back, clearing way for the next duel to began.
I too proceeded to do the same.
(Y/N): Well seeing as I lost... we'll go have to see what comes next for us... but I won't let Goodwin get away for using me like this!
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "(Y/N) Dear... please calm down! I'm still worried about what happened to you..."
Maiden said out of concern for my well being which did manage to stop me in my tracks. Just as I was about to answer her, I was once again cut off by that annoying announcer.
"LISTEN EVERYBODY!!!!! YAAAAAAY!!! THERE'S A SUDDEN TURN OF EVENTS!!!!"
This caught the attention of the whole stadium, I even found myself stopping, curious at what he was going to say.
"GOODWIN HAS JUST GIVEN A SURPRISE ANNOUNCEMENT! ARE THE PEOPLE WHO LOST THE FIRST ROUND LISTENING?!"
Goodwin?!
What is he planning...?
This was the thought that I couldn't help but ask myself as I heard the man ramble on.
"THERE'S GOING TO BE A SECOND CHANCE BATTLE!!!"
As he said that, the whole stadium erupted in cheers and excitement. Just then four images appeared up in the air which happen to include all the people who lost in the preliminaries, myself included.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "That means..."
A smirk found its way on my face... I normally don't trust anything Goodwin would do, especially not something like a second chance, but...
(Y/N); That means I might be able to duel Yusei after all....
Regardless of the purpose I had to participate in this tournament, with the fate of the world at cost, I couldn't help but feel this way. After all this is one of the reason why I decided to participate anyways.. my desire to duel against Yusei again after all this time.
(Y/N): Interesting...
I smiled as I waited to see who would get picked, all the while Maiden with Eyes of Blue gave me a concerned look.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: 'Despite what happened in the duel he was just in.. he still wants to duel...'
Maiden thought to herself...
(Y/N): Don't worry Maiden...
As I said that she looked up to me in surprise, I merely gave her a reassuring smile.
(Y/N): I may not know what happened last round... when I dueled... but I won't let it happen again. Besides even if it does happen.. I know you... all of you will come to my rescue right?
I said giving a kind smile while also slightly tilting my head.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "(Y/N) Dear... right you are... no matter what happens to you... I will do everything in my power to save you!"
(Y/N): And I'll do the same for you all too! So we're in this together.
We both then nodded to each other, just as I was about to say another word the lights cut off and the announcer spoke again.
"I WILL NOW ANNOUNCE THE MATCHUP OF THE SECOND CHANCE BATTLE!!! THERE WILL ONLY BE ONE MATCH UP BETWEEN TWO RANDOM PARTICIPANTS!! THE LUCKY PARTICIPANTS ARE...."
All eyes were now on the center of the stadium, as he was just about to announce the name of the two participants.
"THOUGH SHE LOST TO GRIGER, GOODWIN RECOGNIZES THAT SHE HAS SKILLS AT ONLY ELEVEN YEARS OF AGE! THERE'S NO CEILING TO HER POTENTIAL! THE DUELING ANGEL WHO CAME DOWN FROM THE HEAVENS!! MISS LUNA!!!!!"
Spotlights then flashed on the girl who was sitting among the crowd in the side, the girl that lost the first round.
(Y/N): That girl Luna...
I couldn't help but stare at her... there was something about her that was weird...
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "That girl... she lost the first round if I remember correctly..."
(Y/N): Yeah...
My lack of a reaction seemed to have caught Maiden's attention as she saw that I had my sights locked onto her.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "(Y/N) Dear is everything alright...?"
(Y/N): Huh..
Snapping out of my trance I turned to look at Maiden.
(Y/N): Yeah... there's just something about that girl... I have a weird feeling about her.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "H-huh?! W-weird feeling?! H-have you finally reached the age where you're interested in girls?!"
She said almost too happily...
(Y/N): What? No. Stop.
I shot her down instantly not letting this fascination of hers get too out of hand.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: " Y-you shot me down so fast (Y/N) Dear..."
(Y/N): It's just.. a weird gut feeling...
Calming down, Maiden gave me a serious look as if she were trying to figure out what was this feeling.
Maiden with Eyes of Blue: "Hmm.. now that you mention it... there is something almost familiar about her... I wonder why that is..?"
(Y/N): Oh well I wonder who the next participant is....
Though she looked reluctant to walk down onto the field, the crowd was cheering on in excitement to see her duel again.
"LUNA" "LUNA" "LUNA" "LUNA"
The cheers went on and on until eventually she grabbed her duel disk and began to walk down the stairs of the stands and onto the field.
"THE DUELING GENIUS LUNA MAKES HER ENTRANCE IN TO THE FIELD!!!"
Watching her up there, putting on her duel disk... I don't know why but it made me feel some type of way...
It was almost as if...
"NOW THEN THE DUELING GENIUS LUNA'S OPPONENT WILL BE....
Just then, an image of me appeared at the center of the stadium. So in the end I was chosen to be her opponent... it seems all to convenient, but I won't complain this time.
"THERE HE IS!!! THOUGH HIS REIGN WAS SHORT LIVED, THE BLUE-EYED PRINCE IS MAKING A COME BACK!!! IT'S (Y/N)!!!
(Y/N): I-is that what they called me?!
I said shocked at the nickname they gave me...
(Y/N): What an embarrassing nickname...
Ignoring that I walked up to the field causing a smoke machine to cloud my appearance, until eventually I came face to face with her. Both of us at our respective side of the field, she looked at me curiously as I slightly glared at her.
(Y/N): Goodwin really likes looking down on me...
Luna: H-huh...?
The girl in front of me got confused as I said that... then getting a closer look at her.. I realized she had a striking resemblance to...
(Y/N): You've got to be kidding me... Oi girl!
Luna: Y-yes..?
She answered slightly scared.
(Y/N): You wouldn't happen to be related to someone named Leo?
Luna: H-he's my brother... he told me about you...
(Y/N): Hmph I couldn't care less about that...Tch... what a pain... let's just get this duel over with...
Judging by the look on her face I could tell that I didn't make a good first impression, but I didn't care about that... I just want to achieve my goal.
(Y/N): Good luck...
Was the last thing I said as I put my duel disk on my wrist readying myself for the duel. She seemed surprised by my sudden comment and readied herself as well. Just then I had the sudden feeling of someone watching me, turning to my side I saw..
(Y/N): Professor Frank... what are you doing here?
Professor Frank: I'm here to oversee the duel between you and Luna. I'm under orders from Director Goodwin.
(Y/N): What is that bastard planning... whatever just don't get in my way!
I said pointing at him, Luna herself looked at me curiously, she didn't seem to be able to understand something about me.
Luna: He didn't act like this before... I-I wonder what changed...?
She said whispering to herself as she stared at me, meanwhile I was making sure the Professor understood his place. Seeing my reaction a small smile seemed to appear of her face.
Luna: That's good...
Professor Frank then spoke gaining the attention of both Luna and I.
Professor Frank: Worry not... I'm only here to observe... I hope that's alright Miss Luna?
Luna: A-ah... y-yes it's alright...
(Y/N): Enough wasting time... let us begin!
Just as I was about to act, the Professor called out to me. Feeling slightly annoyed I slightly turned back to look at him.
Professor Frank: (Y/N)... a word of advice before you begin...
(Y/N): What...?
Just then the Professor walked up behind me and whispered something into my ear.
Professor Frank: When the portal to the Spirit Would opens our light shall be revealed...
Hearing him say that my mind went blank... I-it was happening again and I couldn't stop it.
I was losing all feeling to myself... again...
Damnit...?!
Professor Frank: Now then (Y/N)... you know what to do right?
(Y/N): Yes Professor...
Professor Frank: Good... make sure to use the power I lent you...
(Y/N): Yes Professor...
Professor Frank: Now then Miss Luna are you ready to duel!
The Professor asked her, which resulted in her giving him an almost skeptical look. She then nodded as it seemed as she took noticed at my sudden change of character.
Luna: W-what is this weird feeling I'm getting... it's the same feeling as before... it's almost as if... no it definitely is...
"DUE TO CERTAIN REASON A SPECIALIST SHALL BE OBSERVING THE MATCH!!! NOW IT'S ABOUT TO BEGIN!!!"
Being cut off from the announcer, this signifies that our match was about to begin, we both readied ourselves as our duel disk extended. The entire stadium went silent and with a single word from the two of us, we both began the duel.
"START OF THE SECOND CHANCE BATTLER!!!"
(Y/N)/Luna: DUEL!
As it seemed...
The encounter...
This duel...
Would be the beginning of something greater then I could ever imagine...

Sorry it took so long to finish up but here it is! I wanted to address the changes I made to the book down here so here it is!
I made these changes to help out the inconsistency of the anime, such as there being only five signers and what not. Plus it made it too complicated so I decided to edit the main story a bit... well more then I already am.
Next about (Y/N)' s past, I decided to change it up to make it more relevant to the story and tho it may not make much sense right now it will in the next chapter!
Other then that, that was pretty much it! Hope you guys enjoyed it! I'll be back to publish faster this time! Hope you guys continues to enjoy my stuff!
