The Murder
I smiled sadly at the Brunette girl
staring at me from the mirror
She had what I had lost,
Something I missed the most.
I wish I could do more, perhaps speak ?
Anything to see the hope glimmer
But right when my guilt was at it's peak
He covered my eyes again, concealing his error.
As I lay in bed tonight, my gaze fell upon the mirror;
she visited me again
And thus without a second thought, I begun.
You didn't just die, you were murdered.
but there's twist
the victim was you, my innocence
murdered by his fist.
He was a professional, darling
left behind no trace
except for the memories etched in my soul
ones that I could never erase.
"Were there any tears shed for me?"
My innocence asked so humbly.
Yes, many, but
Not by the members of the family
Just me.
"Were there any witnesses?"
My innocence asked with great distress.
With a sad smile, I shook my head
None except my two eyes.
But who would believe them?
They couldn't even see through his lies.
"Was there any funeral for me?"
My innocence asked, so naively
No, for no one knew you died.
Perhaps this is what happens
When you keep it all inside.
