"Will you marry me, Ruby Jane?"
I was lost for words for some moments trying to process what was happening.
Lisa was proposing? SHe wanted to get married, she wanted me to be her wife. Was I ready for this?
There was silence in the room and I could feel everyone's eyes on my back. Lisa's Adam apple bobbed nervously as she waited for my answer.
There was no denying the truth, even with all the hate I felt for her, my feelings for her were still there.
"Yes," I said with a big smile.
Everyone behind me cheered, Lisa looked excited and relieved at the same time.
"Really?"
SHe whispered looking a bit surprised.
"Yes, " I said nodding my head with tears brimming at the edge of my eyes.
SHe put the ring slowly and kissed the finger. SHe stood up and stepped closer taking my two hands.
"I promise to be the best dadda and the sweetest and most loving partner, Ruby."
SHe said softly.
"Just kiss her already!"
Jisoo screamed.
"I love you."
SHe kissed me before I could say the words back.
It was a soft kiss that held so much meaning and different emotions.
SHe smiled against my lips when we broke the kiss, everyone cheered behind us.
"I love you too."
I whispered with a soft smile.
SHe kissed my head and put her arms around me. I hugged her back relishing the warmth from her body, I could hear her heartbeat, it was beating really fast.
Was she that nervous?
We pulled away but not completely. Lisa kept one arm around me as we walked to where everyone was standing.
Riley and Joohyun made jokes about my long silence before I said yes. I spoke to a few people before we cut the cake my mom baked.
Everyone got a slice and we had a toast with the big Champagne. We were all sitting in a circle on the sparkling floor.
There was no furniture since the house was still new and empty. We laughed as my mom told everyone about the tricks I did when I was little to skip school because I couldn't face my 1st-grade classmates who witnessed me pee on myself because I couldn't solve a math problem on the board. It was embarrassing but I was glad to see everyone laughing.
I looked down at Zoey who was sitting between my legs and eating the little piece of cake I gave her.
Her mouth and hands were dirty from the cake.
I turned to look at Wyatt who was between Lisa's legs. He was so engrossed in trying to remove Lisa's wristwatch from her wrist.
I frowned at Jisoo when she decided to tell everyone about me trying to drown my neighbour's dog because he pooped on my homework.
"I was nine and it took hell to solve those math problems, " I screamed as everyone turned to look at me.
Joohyun shared a funny story from her childhood. I took a glance at Haein. He was sitting next to Jisoo, he stared at her as she laughed at something Joohyun said.
He smiled and took a sip from his flute glass. I knew Jisoo liked him too but she was doing a good job hiding it.
I looked away and stared at Zoey who was rubbing her dirty hand on her shirt.
"Don't do that sweety."
I whispered, taking her hand, I stood up and went to the kitchen to clean her.
The kitchen was spacious and lovely. I took Zoey to the sink and sat her down on the countertop and turned on the tap.
Lisa walked in when I was cleaning her mouth.
"Do you want me to show you around the house?"
"Yeah, I can't feel my butt from sitting on that floor."
We took the twins with us, the house was bigger than I thought, it had eight rooms.
We stayed on the wide balcony when we were done with the tour.
"So, should we take it?"
SHe asked as we stared at the great view from where we stood, it was breathtaking.
SHe proposed here and I always wanted to remember that. I loved the house anyway.
"Yeah."
The twins ran to the railings; Wyatt was trying to force his head between the small space in the railings while Zoey was pointing at a bird and jumping in excitement.
"Thank you," Lisa said in a low tone.
"For what?"
"For saying yes, for accepting to be my wife, for accepting to spend the rest of your life with me, for accepting to be the mother of my kids, for..."
"Lisa, " I called shutting her up.
"I know what it means to say yes."
I said and she chuckled softly.
We joined the kids at the railing and enjoyed the view together.

The engagement party was tonight, it's been three weeks since Lisa proposed.
I didn't want a big party, we only invited some friends and our families.
Shin-ae came yesterday and I couldn't wait to see her tonight.
"Close your eyes."
Jisoo ordered.
I chose her to be my makeup artist. I turned down all the makeup artists Mrs. Manoban brought.
We were in my room getting ready. I was only on my shorts and robe while Jisoo was in a big hoodie with gym shorts underneath.
"Can I ask you something?"
I said as she used the wet eyeliner.
"Sure."
"Do you still hate Haein?"
"Not like before but I don't like him."
Liar.
"I think he likes you."
Her hand stopped moving immediately I told her.
"Oh please, " She laughed and continued what she was doing.
"I'm seeing someone else and I'm bringing him as my date tonight."
"The guy from your internship program?"
"Yeah, so when is the wedding?"
She asked quickly trying to change the topic.
"We wanna have the wedding before winter, we agreed to have the wedding in early March, on Lisa's birthday."
"Cool. Why though?"
"SHe hates her birthday, bad memories. Hopefully it will give her something nice to remember and cherish."
We talked about the wedding preparation and fixed a date for my bridal shower.
We dressed up twenty minutes before the party, Jisoo wore a satin red dress that hugged her body. It was short and had V-neck, her hair was packed in a fancy ponytail.
I was wearing a sequin Tulle floor-length evening dress with spaghetti straps and A-line. Jisoo braided some part of my hair and packed it in a cute way.
"You look gorgeous, I'm really good at this than I thought. I should be a stylist."
She said staring at my face.
"I'm supposed to be the one giving the credits."
"There is something called self-love and self-appreciation, Jen."
"Okay, I get it," I said raising one hand in surrender.
"Whatever, selfie?"
"Yes, please."
She brought out her phone from her beaded purse, we took different selfies before someone knocked on the door.
I opened the door and saw one of the maids holding Zoey.
"Hey, sweety."
I carried her and thanked the maid.
She looked like a princess in her rose gold tulle dress and glitter tiara on her head.
"You love mommy's hair?"
I asked her as she stared at my hair, she smiled and looked at Jisoo.
"Awww, you make me wanna have babies right now."
Jisoo squealed making her giggle.
"Let me take a picture."
"Say cheese."
"Cheee, " she said showing off her tiny teeth.
There was a light knock on the door, it opened before any of us could answer.
Lisa stepped in on a navy blue two-piece suit, her hair was neatly styled. SHe was my prince charming, I smiled at her as she walked toward us.
"Hey, ladies." SHe gave us her million-dollar smile.
"Hey, I'm leaving. My ride is here."
Jisoo said walking to the door with her eyes on her phone.
"My dazzling Queen, " she placed a kiss on my cheek.
"and my beautiful Princess."
SHe placed a kiss on Zoey's cheek.
"You both look amazing."
"You look amazing too."
I told her, adjusting her bow tie with one hand.
"Ready?"
"Yeah."
SHe took my hand and we left the room.
"Where is Wyatt?"
I asked looking around.
"He's with Esther."
We left for the venue which wasn't far from the Manobans' mansion. My mom took Zoey from me at the entrance.
We waited outside till the host announced our arrival, the doors opened and all eyes turned to our direction.
The ballroom was decorated with burgundy and gold.
We smiled at everyone as we made our way to our seats, they applauded as we took our seats.
I smiled at Shin-ae and Jesse, she was wearing a dusty pink dress while Jesse wore a dark suit.
I saw Jisoo standing next to a dark-haired guy that had one arm around her waist, Haein was nowhere to be seen.
The event started smoothly, we went round to greet a few people before the slow dance.
I saw Haein at the table hidden from the light, he was staring at Jisoo and her date as he sipped his wine.
Lisa danced with Zoey in her arms while I danced with Wyatt who tried to pull my earrings.
We had a toast from Mrs. Manoban after dancing. I went quickly to speak to Shin-ae and Jesse.
I searched for Jisoo but didn't find her, her date didn't know where she was either.
I needed her to fix my hair, Wyatt already ruined it.
I decided to do it myself, I searched for the restroom. The door was locked when I tried to open it, I knocked again getting frustrated with whoever was in there.
The door opened, my eyes flashed wide when I saw Jisoo. Her ponytail was a mess and she was trying to adjust her dress.
"Jennie?"
She sounded out of breath, I cocked a brow at her.
"Hi, Jennie."
I heard Haein's voice from behind. I noticed the red stain on his lips.
