So there are too many chapters of this for me to edit without getting frustrated so I have changed how I'm writing this from now on. I would also like to say I've been going to write this chapter for months now but I never got around to it so here we go!
I've also just realised her due date is completely messed up so her due date is now March 19th
2 Weeks Later Third Person P.O.V
It was Christmas day and Katrina had gone all out again. It was Mya's first Christmas with them so she wanted to make it special. She had invited Jay and Lucy over as well as Will, Cassie, Mason and Amelia. Katrina was sure that Jay and Lucy were hiding something but she couldn't quite tell what it was. Mya was extremely excited to be spending Christmas with Mouse and Katrina or possibly to be celebrating Christmas at all. Mya was still coming home from school upset but she wouldn't tell anyone why so when Katrina went in to see the teacher they didn't believe her. Amelia and Mason had been looking out for her when they could but there was something more. Apollo was staying with Chris for a little while until after Katrina had her baby girl so they could get into a routine.
Katrina's P.O.V.
"Mommy, mommy, mommy" I woke up by Mya tapping my arm. I glanced at the time to see it was 5 past midnight
"What is it, baby girl?"
"Can we open presents?"
"Santa's not been yet, baby girl"
"I can't get back to sleep though" She pouted and I smiled weakly.
"Come sleep next to mommy and daddy" She climbed in next to us and I kissed her head and fell back asleep.
"Mommy, Daddy" Mya woke us up. I groaned before looking at the time. It was 6:35 am so I smiled slightly
"Can we see if Santa's been yet?" I smiled and looked at Mouse
"I'll go see if he's been" Mouse walked downstairs and I kissed Mya's head.
"Merry Christmas" She kissed my bump and my eyes filled with tears.
"It looks like he's been," Mouse said as Mya jumped up and ran out. Mouse walked over and kissed me
"Merry Christmas," I said
"Merry Christmas baby" He kissed me before kissing my bump. He helped me out of bed and we walked downstairs together. I sat down on the chair as Mya stared at all the presents under the tree.
"Can I? Please mommy, daddy?" I smiled
"Go on open one at a time through" She grabbed the biggest present which was really just a big box with a few small things in. She opened it and her face was amazing I, of course, took pictures of her because it was our first Christmas together. Mya opened all her presents before running over to Mouse and me with a small gift bag each
"Open them" I slowly opened it to find a small box and inside the small box was a firefighter charm bracelet. Mouse held up his gift and I noticed they were some dog tags. My eyes filled with tears as Mya walked over and hugged me
"Thank you baby girl" I kissed her head. Mouse handed me a small box and I opened it to find a necklace
"It's the co-ordinates to Molly's and the date we first met" The tears fell down my cheeks and I hugged him
"Thank you, baby. Mya can you go get daddy's gift for me" Mya ran through with Mouse's gift and I handed it to him. Inside was a wallet insert with the saying 'I might be a way for 24 hours but I'll always be in your heart'
"Thank you baby" I kissed him before resting my head on his shoulder
"Shall we get ready then go meet uncle JJ?" I asked and Mya nodded. Our plan was to meet Intelligence, 51 and Will at med then Jay, Lucy, Will, Cassie, Mason and Amelia would come over for dinner
"You go get ready I'll put the turkey in the oven then put the veg on"
"OK" I kissed him then walked to our bedroom where I picked out the dark red maternity tie waist midi dress.
I walked into the bathroom and did my hair and makeup. I did a braided messy bun type of thing and a maroon eyeshadow look.
I grabbed my nude flats and placed them on the floor before slipping my feet into them. I walked out of the bedroom and into Mya's bedroom. "Mommy, can I wear a dress like yours?" I smiled
"Let's see what's we've got first" I looked through her wardrobe. I picked out 2 dark red dresses and let her pick. They weren't exactly meant for Christmas but I decided to just let her wear them anyway
"That one" Mya pointed to the dress in my right hand and I lay it down on the bed.
"How are we doing your hair today?"
"Like yours?" She asked hopeful and I nodded
"We can do it like mine if you want to do it like mine" She nodded enthusiastically. I laughed at her then helped her get the dress on. I did her hair then helped her put her flat nude shoes with a bow on. She ran out to Mouse
"Daddy look my hairs like mommy's" She shouted and I laughed packing a bag for her. I put in a pair of leggings, a t-shirt and some toys as well as fluffy. I walked out, throwing the bag over my shoulder. Mouse had a suit on and he came to stand behind me. He rested his hands over my bump and our baby girl started kicking
"She likes her daddy touch" I smiled
"She's gonna be a daddy's girl just like her big sister" Mouse whispered "I've put the presents in the car so we can go" I smiled
"Come on then Mya grab your jacket" I walked over and grabbed my big winter jacket and pulled it on as Mouse helped Mya with her jacket. We walked out to the car and I buckled Mya in as Mouse locked the door. I got in the passenger side and pulled my seatbelt on. Mouse drove to Molly's as we sat singing Christmas songs.
We got to Molly's just as Jingle Bell Rock was finishing. I climbed out before unbuckling Mya and grabbing her bag. I took one of the lighter bags of presents and we walked inside. Mya didn't even make it the full way inside before she took her jacket off and ran up to Jay. Her jacket landed on a random chair. I picked it up and followed Mouse over to a booth. I set the bags down and pulled my jacket off. Mouse pulled me onto his lap and I rested my head on his shoulder
"This time next year we're gonna have an 8-year-old and a 8-month-old" I smiled resting a hand on my bump
"It's all gonna be worth it though" I smiled and nodded
"3 more months till we get to hold our baby girl in our arms"
"It feels like just yesterday you adopted Mya and told me you were pregnant" Mya ran over with a big box
"It's from Uncle JJ for both of you" She laughed and I looked at Mouse worried. I moved off Mouse's lap as he unwrapped it. I laughed when I saw Jay had bought us a pram
"Ok so hear me out. I didn't know what else to buy and I knew that you would probably these and it is a pushchair that turns into a pram, a car seat, travel cot, high chair and a bouncer thing please don't hate me" My eyes filled with tears and I hugged him tightly.
"Thank you Jay" I cried as he rubbed circles on my back
"Ok stop crying" I wiped my eyes and smiled
"2 things. One this was definitely Lucy's doing and 2 how did Mya push this over herself?" I asked looking at the giant box
"I helped her" Jay laughed as Will walked over
"Woah big enough box?" He joked and I hugged him "Ok, in all honesty, I was gonna get you a firefighter and army diaper bag but Cassie said no to that" I laughed and sat down on Mouse lap again. Will handed us a bag and I opened it pulling out the tissue paper to reveal a diaper bag.
I got up and hugged Will "Thank you"
"Hey your my big sister" I let out a small laugh and grabbed Jay and Will's presents and handed them to them. We had got them both watches because they can't go without their watches. I sat down on Mouse's lap just as Mia and Mason ran over
"Auntie Kat" They ran into my legs and I hugged them both
"I think Santa stopped off at my house last night" I smiled and handed them their presents as they sat on the floor and opened it. Mya would come back every so often and dump her presents on the table causing Mouse and I to look at them. I rested my head on Mouse's shoulder. We had told everyone not to get us presents and to focus on Mya cause Mouse and I didn't need anything so not many people gave us stuff not that we cared. Mya ran over with Mia and Mason behind her.
"Hey kiddos" I smiled as Stella handed me a coke.
"Mommy, Daddy can I stay with Auntie Cassie?"
"Not tonight baby girl maybe another night" I answered as Mya pouted
"Please" She begged and I shook my head
"Another night" I answered taking a sip of the coke
"Please" She begged once again
"Mya not tonight now go play," Mouse said strictly as Mya walked away pouting
"There's plenty of seats about Halstead," Severide said sitting down
"Haha funny" I replied sarcastically as Mya ran over to Jay
"Oh look she's away begging your brother now," Mouse said as I shook my head
"Forget the if mom says no go to grandma it's if mom and dad says no go to Uncle JJ or Uncle Will," I said
"Well Merry Christmas you two" Severide said
"Merry Christmas Severide. Where's Casey and Brett?"
"Heard they were spending it together" Severide shrugged and I nodded
"Well, I'm gonna go pee cause my bladder is being sat on" I walked to the bathroom and went to the toilet. I washed my hands before walking back out. As I reached Mouse I started to get a bit light-headed so I sat down again.
"Baby are you ok?" Mouse asked and I nodded
"I think I just moved a bit too fast" I answered taking a drink
"Stay here I'm gonna go see if Herrmann has any food" I moved off his lap and sat down next to where we were. I closed my eyes resting my head backwards when I heard lots of little footsteps
"Mommy is Mia and Mason coming home with us?" I nodded slowly
"Yeah but they're driving with Uncle Will and Auntie Cassie" I answered looking at her
"Can I drive with them?"
"Ask daddy" I replied as she ran off to find Mouse. Mouse came back with some salted peanuts. I smiled and took a handful before eating them slowly. Everyone slowly started leaving and Mouse started to move all our stuff into the car. Mouse came back and handed Mya her jacket before helping me up and into my jacket. I kissed him lightly before he wrapped his arm around my waist.
"Ok, Mya let's go" Mouse shouted and we walked out to the car. I climbed in the passenger side as Mouse buckled Mya in. I pulled my seatbelt on before turning on the Christmas music. Mouse drove us back to the house.
"So it's your first Christmas with your brothers, it's our first Christmas as a family and your first Christmas since you've been back in Chicago." I smiled and nodded before climbing out of the car. I walked into the house
"Where shall I put all the Christmas presents?"
"The baby ones in the spare bedroom and Mya's in the living room in the corner somewhere," I said "I'll turn the dinner on" I walked into the kitchen and turned our Christmas dinner on. Mouse walked in and placed his hands on my bump from behind. He kissed my neck
"I love you" He muttered kissing my neck
"I love you two" I turned around in his arms placing my arms around his neck "Is everything ok?" I asked worried
"Yeah I just can't believe this is our first Christmas together never mind our first Christmas as a family"
"Yeah, I know. In all honesty, when I moved back to Chicago I thought I would be spending Christmas alone" I rested my head on his shoulder as Christmas Lights by Coldplay started playing. We slowly danced around the kitchen in small circles. The song came to an end and we just stayed in that position for a little while not noticing Jay, Will, Lucy and Cassie in the doorway.
"Mommy" Mya shouted and I sighed pulling away from Mouse and kissing him then seeing Jay, Will, Lucy and Cassie in the doorway
"How long have you four been standing there?"
"Long enough" Jay answered and I nodded walking through to Mya
"What's up munchkin?"
"Can you open my firefighter?" She held up the firefighter barbie doll and I nodded. I took it from her and walked through to the kitchen cutting open the packaging and shouting her to come get it. I walked over to Mouse and snuggled into his side resting my head on his chest
"We'll grab some beer yous can go through to the living room," Mouse said and I nodded. Everyone walked through to the living room and Mouse turned me so I was looking at him
"What's going on baby?" I shrugged as my eyes filled with tears "Baby don't cry I wasn't getting on at you I just wanted to make sure you were ok"
"I don't know" I answered honestly as he pulled me into his chest again, kissing my hair
"You can talk to me at any time now let's grab some beers and head through" Mouse grabbed the beers while I grabbed some non-alcoholic wine for Cassie and me. We walked through to the living room and I handed Cassie the glass of wine before sitting next to Mouse on the sofa.
"Where're the kids?" I asked noticing Mya, Mia and Mason weren't in the room
"They went through to Mya's bedroom" Lucy answered and I nodded as Mouse got up and walked through to the kitchen with Jay and Will following. I furrowed my brows and turned to Cassie and Lucy
"I have no clue what is going on with them" Lucy said and Cassie nodded
"Men" I answered resting a hand over my bump. They walked back in and Mouse put his hand out and I took it. He pulled me up carefully before walking over to the tree.
"What are we doing?" I asked
"Family photos" He answered and I laughed. He stood behind me, his hands on my bump whispering in my ear
"I love you never forget that" I turned around and kissed his cheek as Jay shouted on Mya. She came running through and Jay told her to come stand next to us. I put my arms around Mya as Mouse stayed in the same position. Jay and Will came over and swapped with Mya and Mouse. We stood together, arms around each other laughing at Jay falling over the wrapping paper we were still to pick up
We sat down at the table with the kids as Jay and Mouse brought the plates out to us. I tried to help but Mouse told me to sit down and not to move. Jay and Mosue finally sat down and we pulled the crackers. I laughed as Jay got hit in the face by the toy thing in the middle. Everyone started to eat and I smiled at my family sitting around the table
"So I have something to say" I spoke up breaking the scilence
"Hmm" Jay hummed eating his mashed potatos
"My 2 best friends moved to Chicago and started dating my brothers, I moved to Chicago and started dating Jay's best friend
"Yet we all still gave each other the over protective sibling speech" Jay added
"I gave the over protective sister speech and the protective best friend speech how do you think I feel" I smirked as Mya walked over to me. I lifted her onto my knee and kissed her temple.
"What's wrong baby girl?" She just snuggled into my chest drawing random shapes on my bump "I think waking up at midnight is making someone tired" I stated noticing the time was 6pm. I went back to eating my dinner even with Mya on my lap.
"I think we're gonna head after dinner to let you three have time together" Jay said
"Yeah us too" Will added and I nodded
"Thank you both for coming" I smiled
"Of course it was our first Christmas together" Soon everyone left leaving Mouse, Mya and I. We sat on the couch just cuddling each other.
"Let's get ready for bed then put on a movie" I said and Mya ran through to her bedroom. I got her changed then took her hair out before walking through to our bedroom. I washed my makeup off before taking my hair out and throwing it into a messy bun. I walked through to the bedroom and got changed into a pair of shorts and one of Mouse's hoodies. I walked out to the living room just as Mouse was putting 'Home Alone' on. I snuggled into Mouse's side as Mya snuggled into my side. We watched the movie and Mya fell asleep just as the movie ended
"I'll take her to bed you go to bed" I got up and walked through to the bedroom before climbing into bed. Mouse soon joined me and I lay my head on his chest
"I love you" I stated kissing him
"I love you too and I promise you I'm gonna be here for you no matter what" I smiled drawing shapes on his bare chest as he drew shapes on my back. I soon fell asleep listening to his heartbeat.
