───── ⋆⋅🍨⋅⋆ ─────

Love is either a good thing or a bad thing. And there's no in between. You're either in love or you're not. They either love you or they don't. Love is not a game. When meeting someone new, it doesn't mean anything, unless you are meant to be and they are the one. I once made a choice. A decision. That I was never gonna let myself fall in love easily. That before I fall in love with someone they have to fall in love with me first....

We pulled up to the gas station. I got out and walked inside. The bell of the door rung as the door opened and closed behind me. "Hey, I need gas." I said. The boy turned around and he was good looking. We locked eyes for a couple of seconds. He had dark hair and deep green eyes.

"Oh sure, my buddy is already there, you'll just have to pay and he'll pump your gas in." He said, I smiled.

I placed the money down on the table. "I'll pay now that we're here." I said. He nodded and smiled. Looked at him once more before I walked out. I got to the car and saw the girls flirting with who, if I remember correctly, was Sodapop. He looked at me and I smiled.

"Hey, Sodapop Curtis, I'm guessing a pretty gal like you has a pretty name am I right?" He said as he reached his arm out. I shook his hand.

"Elena D'Angelo nice to meet you." I said as I smiled. We talked until my car was filled up with gas. He took out the pump and we got in the car. I took the top down I turned on the engine. I was about to drive away when Sodapop looked at me.

"Hey you should come by tomorrow." He said. I looked at him.

"I don't know.." I turned around and looked inside the store. I saw the other boy, he stared at me and smiled slightly. "Yeah, yeah, I'll come by tomorrow." I said as I smiled. He nodded and walked away.

"El, he totally likes you!" Margo said. I looked at her.

"I don't think that's what it was." I said.

"Whatever it is, he's dating someone." Meredith said.

"Oh right, isn't he dating Sandy... god I forgot her last name." Laura said. I nodded my head.

"He could do so much better than her."Margo said.

"Margo, let him, if he really likes her then he likes her. I've talked to her before, she's sweet. I don't think she likes me though." I said. We stay quiet the rest of the way. I dropped the girls off and headed home. "Hi mommy" I said as I walked through the door.

"Hi baby, how was school?" She asked. I looked at her.

"It was good. Have you seen daddy?" I asked.  She pointed her finger towards the library. I walked over and knocked the door.

"Who is it?' I heard from inside.

"It's me daddy, Elena." I said.

"Come in." He said. I walked in and closed the door behind me. "How's my principessa doing?" He asked as he got up and hugged me.

"I'm good daddy. School was great." I said

"Well, finish your homework or rest easy, dinner is almost done." He said. I smiled and placed a kiss on his cheek. I walked up to my room and closed the door.

I finished showering. It was late at night and I couldn't help but think. I played a record. I sat down infront of my vanity. I brushed my hair as I stared off to the distance as the music ran through my ears. I wasn't thinking about anything in special, nothing with importance, but suddenly the boy from the DX came accross my mind. I couldn't forget his soft, suddle smile. The way his lips pursed together into a curve when he smiled. His deep green eyes. I haven't felt this way about anyone. I never found anyone other than Daniel attractive. I would lie if I said that I didn't ever find Daniel attractive. And this boy was attractive too. I was still going to the DX, maybe before or after school, I'm not sure. I sat up and sighed as I turned off the record player and turned of my lights, leaving my Christmas lights on.

It wasn't near Christmas but last year I put them up and ever since then I like the way it makes my room feel. I sat down in bed and pulled out my notebook. I either write random things, or things I want to do with someone. I wrote for a bit until my mom walked in. "Goodnight baby." She said.

"Good night momma." I answered. She smiled back. I closed my notebook and before she left I spoke. "Could you please turn off the lights?" She nodded and turned the lights off, closing the door. I sighed and got under the covers, dreaming softly.

At some point you have to make a decision. Boundaries don't keep other people out, they fence you in. Life is messy, that's how we're made. So you can waste your life drawing lines or you can live your life crossing them. So what will it be? Will you let yourself fall in love? Or will you live with boundaries?
