Previously on Chapter 12
"I'm sorry..." he said, getting off of me. Then he walk backward. He crouch down and start coughing out blood. "Tommy... kill me!!!" He screams. Then he starts to attack me, swinging his knife around. Then he gets to me. "Newt..." I said. He steps back and looks down. The knife is on his chest. Then he falls to his side. "No no no no... Newt... hey, stay with me! I promised Y/N that I'll bring you back! Newt!" I yell out, trying desperately to get him keep breathing.
Then...

Y/N P.O.V
I keep going, recreating the air sphere to make me move faster. I need to get there as fast as possible, before it's too late.
'H-Hang in there, Newt... d-don't you die on me... p-please' I thought to myself, tears blurring out my sight. But I didn't let that stop me. I need to get to Newt. I saw a stairs and use air bending to send me up the stairs.
I stop dead in my track when I saw what happened in front of me. Thomas is cradling Newt, who seems like he's not breathing anymore. I drop on my knees as endless tears begin to stream down my cheeks. It is too late... Newt is gone...
2 years later
Thomas P.O.V
I'm sitting in our new camp. We can finally live in peace. We just have to find a way to deal with the Flare.
I'm just sitting there, staring at the people walking around me. My mind drift off to my fallen friends. Then my mind stops as I remember something. I reach in my pocket and take out the necklace Newt gave me. I stare at it for a while, then realize it was a letter. I take it out of the tube and start reading it.
Dear Tommy,
This is the first letter I remember writing. Even if this isn't the first... it certainly will be my last.
I just want to let you know... that I'm not scared. Losing myself to this virus... losing my memories of you and our friends is what terrified me.
I choke a sob as I pause for a moment. Then I start to read the letter again. I keep reading the letter as I try to control my tears. Soon enough I come to the end of the letter.
Take care of yourself, Tommy... and take care of Y/N... you're the only one I can trust when it comes to her. She means so much to me. Even after all the pain I have caused her... she always loves me.
I never got the chance to make her happy. Now that I'm not around anymore... I need to know that she will be happy and safe... and I know she will if she's with you. So please Tommy...
Take care of my girl for me. Goodbye buddy...

I place the letter back on it's tube and put in around my neck. Tears keeps flowing down my eyes. I look up at the sky and memories of Newt comes back in my head.
"Don't worry, Newt... I'll take care of Y/N for you..." I said, smiling at the sky. A gust of wind flow past me in a gentle breeze. I turn my head to the wind to see a faint image of Newt.
He smiles at me "I trust you, Tommy... you can make my girl happy... please... make her happy... do it for me, now that I'm not around for her anymore..." he said. I nod my head, he smiles at me and slowly disappear.
I stand up and starts walking around the place. I stop walking when I catch a glimpse of her. She is sitting by the cliff. I walk over to her.
Y/N P.O.V
I stare into the distance. Thinking about how I can't save Newt in time. Tears slowly streams down my cheeks.
"I miss you, Newt... it's all my fault... I wish I could reach you faster. I guess I'm not strong enough.... I'm so useless..." I cried out. I feel the wind caress my cheek softly. I close my eyes and open them. My eyes widened when I see Newt in front of me.
"Love... don't blame yourself for what happened to me. It's not your fault. Don't worry about me... I won't feel anymore pain... I'm free..." he said. "I love you, Newt..." I cried out. "I love you too, Love... so so much... thank you so much for all the precious memories... I'm sorry I can't be around you anymore. But I'll always be here..." he said, placing his hand on my chest where my heart is.
He smiles and leans in to place a soft kiss on my lips. I close my eyes and kisses him back. It really feels like he's here with me. He pulls away and I close my eyes, worried that if I open them... I won't be able to see him anymore.
I feel him placing a soft kiss on my forehead. "He happy for me... just remember I'll always be watching you... goodbye love..." he said. I open my eyes and Newt is no where in sight. I broke into tears and starts to cry harder.
I stand up and walk over to the cliff. I take a seat and hug my knees. I stay there for a bit, then I hear the sound of footsteps. Since I'm not wearing any shoes, I can sense who it is.
"Hey Thomas..." I said. "How did you know it was me?" He said. I turn my head to look at him. He have a shock look on his face. "I can sense you..." I said. "Oh... okay... mind if I join you?" He asks. I shake my head and gesture him to take a seat next to me.
"Y/N..." he starts, after a few moment of silence. I turn my head to look at him. "Yeah?" I said. He looks at me with a smile. He place a hand on top of mine. I look at his hand, then back at him.
"I know... that I'm not Newt... but I promise you, I'll try my best to make you happy..." he said. I stare at him and look down. "I don't know if I'm ready..." I said. "Just give me a chance..." he pleaded. I let out a sigh and turn my head to look at him. "Okay..." I said in a low tone.
I look back to the distance and lean my head on his shoulder. He wraps his arm around my shoulder as he pulls me closer to him.
We stand up and walk over to the huge stone. Thomas turns to me and hand me a knife along with a hammer. "You should do it... write Newt's name..." he said. I take it from him and start carving Newt's name. Then I run my hand across the name.
Thomas walks over next to me. He wraps his arms around my waist, pulling me closer to him. He seems to hesitate. So I take the first move. I lean up and place a kiss on his lips. He kisses me gently as if he's afraid to hurt me.
We pull away for air. Then I look up at the sky. I smile as Newt's face became visible in the sky. I smile sadly, trying to cope through the pain that's slowly growing in my chest.
As much as it hurts me to lose you, Newt... to know that I won't be able to see you ever again... I know that you don't want me to mourn over your death for too long. So for you...
I'll try my best to continue with my life
