The storm seems to have calmed down....for now.
I can hear the taiko drums practicing. It seems like we're not the only ones placing our faith into tomorrow's weather.
CHIKA: "The drummers are practicing seriously for the festival, too. They were supposed to play both days of the festival."
YOU: "The sound of drums reverberates in my tummy, and it feels so good. I want to hear it up close."
MARI: "Whatever the outcome is tomorrow, this is the last time we'll walk home to this music. It's kind of sad."
YOSHIKO: "You can still hear it online, can't you?"
HANAMARU: "You don't get it, Yoshiko, zura. Feeling the changing of time and seasons is the way of the japanese heart, zura."
YOSHIKO: "It really makes me mad how you say that with such a smug face."
RUBY: "I think I get that. I'm still looking forward to the Summer Festival, no matter what. But the prep work was a lot of fun, so it's kind of sad it's ending."
KANAN: "They say the most fun happens before something begins."
RIKO: "It's like I only heard about the Summer Festival yesterday. Time sure flies, huh?"
DIA: "Well everyone, tomorrow is the true big day. Sleep early tonight and foster your courage!"
EVERYONE: "Okay!"
AKI: "Wait, the boats to Awashima aren't running are they?"
MARI: "Oh yeah, that's right! No problem, I can always call my family to bring the heli-"
KANAN: "Do you really think they'd risk it when the storm can start again at any moment?"
MARI: "Oh, my mistake."
CHIKA: "Why not spend the night at Tochiman Inn?"
KANAN: "Are you sure that's okay, Chika? You don't mind?"
CHIKA: "How about everyone spends the night at the Inn? That way we shouldn't have any trouble meeting up in the morning."
DIA: "I must admit, it will make things easier for us... Very well, we accept."
...
RIKO: "Chika, are you sure we can stay at your place?"
CHIKA: "No problem! I even got the okay from my sisters!"
MARI: "The Japanese futon provides a mysterious comfort so different from a bed. It fulfills my Japanese mind!"
HANAMARU: "This is so fun, zura! It's like that school field trip, staying in a ryokan together like this."
YOSHIKO: "The school trip... You all slept together like this on your trip? It must have been fun."
KANAN: "Oh yeah, didn't you get a cold and have to stay home when you had your middle school field trip? Don't worry, you'll be able to go on the next one."
RUBY: "It's raining again outside. It sounds pretty bad."
DIA: "The wind might be peaking right now. I hope it passes overnight."
AKI: "Uh... Why are we all in my room?"
CHIKA: "It's the biggest room in the inn. It's the only one that can fit all ten of us."
AKI: "All ten? Is it really okay for me to share a room with you girls? I am a guy after all."
MARI: "Don't be shy Rainbow Student! We're the ones intruding on you."
CHIKA: "And you had no problem with me sleeping in this room last night either."
RIKO: "Huh?"
AKI: "If it's okay with you all, then I'm fine with it. So Chika, can I hang this up outside the front door?"
CHIKA: "Is that...a teru teru bozu doll? There's one, two, three...nine?! Did you make them all?"
AKI: "Yeah. I made them all in the image of you all. I'm not sure if they'll bring fair weather, but I wanted to do something to ensure tomorrow happens."
YOU: "Hm, this might not be enough."
MARI: "Right. Let's take some tissues, wrap them all around...and here! Mari's special teru teru bozu doll! Let's hang this one up, too."
AKI: "O-Okay. But why an extra?"
MARI: "Let me just style it up with some markers and...there we go!"
AKI: "Is that...me?"
RIKO: "There are more than just nine people hoping for fair weather tomorrow, right?"
KANAN: "If we don't pray with everyone's power, the true strength of the teru teru bozu dolls might not show!"
RUBY: "Let's all pray for sun tomorrow."
AKI: "Right!"
CHIKA: "Let's hang them up! Please let everyone have a wonderful time tomorrow!"
