THIRD PERSON
It's finally Saturday again, and the white haired girl got up from her bed the same time as her alarm rang. Hoshiumi Koharu didn't have a wink of sleep because of the excitement and nervousness. Who wouldn't be when they're going on a date with the person you like and to make it even better, at the amusement park? She spent the past few days getting advices from every girl in her classroom, who had experienced having a boyfriend. And the first rule when going out on a date, is to look cute, and to dress up cutely. Koharu grumbled every time she thought about that. Heck, she never even thought of herself as cute and now she's going for that concept.
The female dragged herself out of bed and went inside Mafuyu's room to wake her up. She started shaking the maroon haired girl, cooing softly in her sleep while hugging a hotdog shaped pillow. Haru actually didn't want to wake up the peaceful sleeping beauty but she needed someone to do her make up.
Yes. She doesn't know how to put on shit on her face. Koharu never tried putting make up on, she hated the thought of it and hated the smell of powder. It always made her sneeze But today's different. She needed to look beautiful for the sake of impressing her boyfriend. For the sake of impressing Nishinoya Yū. And so she started shaking her bestfriend awake,
"Mafuyu" she called out a couple of times as the maroon haired female turned around in different directions. "Mafuyu there's a cute puppy outside" Haru lied, knowing that Mafuyu absolutely love puppies and would like to keep one as a pet.
And luckily Mafuyu did woke up, jolting up from her bed and running to her window to look outside. "PUPPY! WHERE'S THE CUTE PUPPY!" smiled Mafuyu and looked high and low for the small creature she liked, only to get disappointed. Mafuyu puffed her cheeks and turned around to face her bestfriend. "You lied to me Haru Haru!"
The tall female scratched the back of her head and chuckled, "I tried shaking you awake but it wasn't working hehe, gomene (sorry) Mafuyu!" she apologized and got up from her seat. "Today's our date Mafuyu! You got to help me look pretty!" says Haru, a determined look plastered on her face.
Mafuyu shook her head, knowing that she can't say no to her bestfriend. She walked over to the tall female and hugged her. "Okay, Mafuyu will help Haru Haru! Now go and take a bath!"
And so the two of them spent exactly 2 hours fixing up Koharu. The make up actually took 15 minutes to finish while the rest of their time is mainly wasted on Koharu trying on a lot of clothes. Last Wednesday, she skipped club practice to go shopping with Nami and her other classmates. The girls paid for every outfit they chose for her, even the shoes, their reason is because it's Koharu's first date and they wanted everything to be perfect for their friend.
"Haru Haru! How about this dress?" asked Mafuyu and pulled out a light violet strapless dress from her closet. Seeing the short dress, Haru's face crumpled in dislike. "Oh come on! It will look cute on you!"
Haru hesitantly slipped in the dress, which actually reached above her knees too much. She hated it and got out of the dress almost as fast as she put it on. "It's too short Mafuyu! And I'm not the dress type of girl, my legs look a lot longer when I'm wearing one" the female grumbled as she folded the dress and put it back inside the closet.
Mafuyu sighed, attempting her 10th time of choosing Haru's outfit. She got stressed since her bestfriend is too picky, but lucky her since Haru tries it on first before taking it off hastily. "Let's give up on dresses. How about skirts?" Mafuyu asked earning a violent head shake from Haru.
"I had enough of Karasuno's skirt. I don't want to wear one on a date" complained Haru, pulling off a disgusted expression. Mafuyu laughed at her best friend before going back to thinking of the perfect outfit. "Oi Mafuyu! It's 7:30! Yū said that he'll pick me up at 8!" Haru became a nervous wreck again and started wriggling her fingers weirdly.
Instead of going along with her nervous streak, Mafuyu just chuckled and thought of the outfits she usually sees in dramas and shoujo mangas. She remembered that one outfit in the shoujo manga made by Oikawa Tora-sensei, My Youth to You, where the heroine wore a pair of leather shorts and a sleeveless shirt as a top. It was partnered with a cardigan reached up to the girl's knees and a black dwarf boots. She sprung up from Koharu's bed with eyes sparkling and run through all of her best friend's clothes inside the closet.
"This will definitely look good on you Haru Haru!" she said, as she rummaged through different colored shirts. Haru just looked at her weirdly, still worried that she only has less than 30 minutes to finish dressing up. After a few minutes, Mafuyu laid a brown leather shorts, a sleeveless striped blue and white shirt, along with a cream colored cardigan. "Haru Haru your friends really bought you a lot of clothes! Mafuyu thanks them because I found your perfect outfit! Now go and change into this! Noya Noya's jaw will drop when he sees you!" she beamed and started taking off Haru's top and bottom in excitement.
Even Haru couldn't help but shriek after Mafuyu stripped her. She wore the outfit, starting from the shirt, then the shorts and tightened it with dark blue belt, before slipping on the cream colored cardigan. "Haru Haru looks so beautiful! That really suits you!" complimented Mafuyu while looking at her from all angles with a huge smile of satisfaction and amazement in her eyes.
Haru raised a brow, still not knowing what she looked like. The tall female walked over to the mirror, her eyes widening in surprise. Is this really me? She thought. Haru couldn't recognize herself. Her usually flowing white hair is tied back into a messy bun, her bangs and fringes complimented her light make up. The clothes completed everything.
"O-Oi Mafuyu, slap me." she muttered in disbelief, earning a confused huh from her friend. "Come on, slap me. I must be seeing somebody else's reflection. Hurry up and slap-OW!" she winced loudly and cranked her head to look at her chuckling bestfriend who had just slapped her face hard. "You know I didn't expect that you'd really do it Mafuyu" Haru shook her head laughing.
The two of them were jumping around in glee of finishing dressing Haru up for her date when a knock resounded from the main door below. Haru's heart thundered inside her chest as she looked at her watch. Shit it's already 8? she nervously thought. Mafuyu giggled beside her, holding her black dwarf boots and shoulder bag. The two of them walked downstairs, Mafuyu leading the way since the giant girl is too nervous to go first.
"Mafuyu do I really look nice enough?" Haru questioned, while hiding behind her bestfriend.
Mafuyu chuckled, "Haru Haru looks absolutely beautiful!" she replied with a big grin.
Before long, the two girls are in front of the door, hearing knocks from outside. Nishinoya Yū waited outside the house, wearing a casual white t-shirt printed with volleyball quotes, dark green trousers reaching above his knee and black rubbers to partner with it. He's getting too restless as minutes pass and no one's opening the door for him.
He too, couldn't sleep at all last night. Nishinoya looked forward to this date with his girlfriend as much as he looked forward to eating his favorite popsicle, gari gari-kun. He asked for advice from other club members like Sugawara or Daichi but failed since the seniors didn't have any experience yet. Nishinoya ended up asking Yamada, one of their classmates, since he also has a girlfriend and has gone on too many dates with her.
He snapped out of trance when the door slowly opened, revealing Mafuyu wearing light violet pajamas. "Ohayou gozaimasu Mafuyu! Is Harumin ready?" he asked, nervous. He felt relieved when the girl nodded with a smile. Mafuyu closed the door again, leaving Nishinoya confused but he decided to wait again.
A minute after that, the door opened again. Nishinoya was expecting to see the maroon haired girl again, but his eyes widened with the beautiful girl who walked out of the door. Her fringes fell perfectly on her face, her lips emitted a glossy shine and her whole aura left Karasuno's Libero in awe.
"Have fun!" yelled Mafuyu and closed the door after the white haired female walked out.
Silence ruled between the two of them as Nishinoya stared at the beauty in front of him. "D-Do I look weird?" Koharu asked, looking away from time to time in embarrassment.
The boy shook his head violently as a response, "N-No! You look really cute and really pretty!" he replied, a blush slowly creeping up on his face. "That looks good on you" he added, scratching the back of his head.
The female couldn't help but get red, hearing the boy's reply. She smiled in relief, happy that he liked it "I'm glad you think so" she says softly, her words escaping the ears of the boy in front of her. Snapping out of the awkward situation she grinned like an idiot, "Let's go?" she asks her boyfriend.
Yū smiled and grabbed her by the hand, "Let's go!" he replied and they ran to the train station. Yes, they ran. Like literally ran.
Before long, they reached the station and went on their way to ride the train. They even bumped on a brown haired girl, looking almost like Seijoh's Oikawa. The two of them remained standing until they reached the station where the amusement park is near.
After they got off, they walked hand in hand towards the entrance of the park. The line was painfully long and so they waited for 15 minutes to buy their tickets. People turned heads looking at the tall girl and small boy holding each other's hands. Weird, is the word people used to describe them. But they couldn't care less.
"RIDES!!!!!!" They both said in sync, eyes sparkling as they looked around and heard screams from almost everywhere.
"OI YŪ LET'S RIDE THAT!" Koharu yanked the boy towards a ride where they sit in a space ship and it blasts off into spiral railings. They waited for at least 10 minutes until their turn, Haru being the brave girl she is, picked the front seat together with her boyfriend. Soon enough, it started going around in different directions.
"WAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" yelled the tall girl in glee, feeling the air brushing against her face. Yū smiled warmly seeing how happy the girl is, before yelling together with her throughout the whole ride.
Hours passed and they've already rode every heart dropping ride there is in the whole amusement park. The two of them are currently sitting down a bench near a food stall, where they ate corn dogs and drank canned juice. "Oishi!" they both said in bliss as they bit into the corn dog they held in the hands. Eyes widening with their synchronized reactions, they laughed.
"Are you enjoying Koharu-san?" asked Yū, while keeping his gaze on his girlfriend. Koharu nodded furiously and bit into the corn dog again. The male couldn't help but think of his girlfriend as very cute. Nishinoya reached out to the side of her face and tucked in a few pieces of hair behind her ear, which he usually do whenever he finds her adorable.
"W-What is it?" Koharu stuttered, flushing at the actions of her boyfriend. Yū just shook his head in response before eating again.
Minutes later, after they finished their food, the couple started talking about which ride to go to for their last.
"The Merry-go-round?" asked Nishinoya awkwardly, showing dislike in his face. Even Koharu's nose scrunched up showing the same reaction to that. "Okay, we hate that. Um, how about Ferris Wheel?" he suggested again, still awj
Koharu's face crumpled, "That's too boring and too cliché, ew" says the girl earning a nod of approval from her boyfriend.
They went back to thinking, and almost at the same time their faces brightened up and yelled the same thing, "HAUNTED HOUSE!" they ran to the biggest horror house.
There's a shattered skull on the upper part of the building. Large speakers played intense scary music, that certainly made chills run down everyone's backs. Well everyone except the weird couple who excitedly stood in line with the others.
"I want to see Sadako!" says Koharu, her eyes sparkling in excitement, as she looks forward to seeing the star ghost of the famous Japanese movie, The Ring.
"I want to see zombies!" followed Yū, earning a lot of stares to the couple holding hands. A few minutes passed and it's finally their turn.
"Don't turn around. Ignore any sound. For inside the maze, you will be bound. You dead body will soon be found" said the staff wearing a shinigami outfit, his voice deep and spooky. But he instantly got weirded out when the couple nonchalantly walked inside without further ado.
The two weird couples walked inside the dark tunnel where jump scares lie with every turn. Zombies, Ghosts, and even Gory prosthetics, showed themselves in front of the people walking in front of Haru and Yū. Screams resounded inside, while the two of them slowly moved forward. It was as if they're walking on the moon.
"AHHHHH!!!!!!" yelled one of the person walking behind them and made his way to the front, pushing Haru and Yū out of the way.
The two of them lost balance and fell on each other on the side. Haru fell on top of Nishinoya's body, feeling something brushing against her lips. "What was that? Was that your forehead Yū? Did I accidentally kissed your forehead Yū?" asked Haru, hurrying to get up.
Yū stayed silent while they brushed off dust on their bodies,"Y-Yeah. It was my forehead" replied the boy, earning a relieved sigh from the female.
They exited the horror house, marking the end of their date. Even at the train station, Yū was still in a trance, which weirded out Haru even more but the female shook the thought off because she's too happy of their first date.
Yū kept touching his lips.
On his lips that accidentally kissed Haru's.
No way he's letting the girl know of this.
He was too happy and too embarrassed.
This was definitely the best date.
