"AAAHHHHHHH! SOMEBODY SAVE ME!"
Zenitsu's Chuntaro chirped behind, trying his very best to keep up with his fleeing master. He didn't know what he had done to land on a Demon Slayer like him.
At the moment, they were running away from a demon that was meters taller larger than the both of them. Zenitsu didn't even expect this kind of demon will be the one he's facing. It's like Inosuke except the demon's ginormous.
Why did they suddenly get into this kind of situation?
"I don't wanna go!" Zenitsu whined, clinging onto Tanjirou like he was his lifeline. Zenitsu was assigned to a solo mission. He definitely didn't want to go alone nor take the mission.
Aoi had been fussing over the whining Zenitsu. She had already sent Inosuke off. It already had inflicted stress on her, now she had to deal with this crying idiot.
Shinobu waltzed in. The commotion in front had already attracted her attention.
"Ara. What's wrong?" she inquired.
Aoi informed her, "This idiot right here doesn't want to go."
"Eh..." Shinobu approached the crying Zenitsu. Tanjirou had a wary look on his face as he tried to pry Zenitsu from him.
Shinobu cupped Zenitsu's face in her hands. Her smile was entrancing as it successfully stopped Zenitsu's wails.
"You trained hard, Agatsuma-kun. It would be very pleasing if you won't waste it. I believe in you."
Well, one could guess what happened after.
"NO ONE TOLD ME I'LL BE SEEING THIS KIND OF DEMON!" Zenitsu screeched.
He sensed an attack coming at him at a lightning speed. Upon instincts, he crashed himself to the side, barely avoiding the slashed attack of the demon.
"GYAAAAHHH!"
The forest was filled with Zenitsu's screams and screeches and the giant demon's growls of annoyance.
It was soon overpowered by a roar above. Zenitsu's eyes widen as a large being he hasn't in his life ever flew past above.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!?!?!?!"
He heard the creatures roaring getting louder and nearer. He immediately took shelter by forcing his legs to run as far as he can for his life. Chuntaro was barely keeping as he had been flapping his little wings so hard to simply keep up with Zenitsu.
"Chuntaro, what kind of being is that?!" asked Zenitsu through his huffed breaths. Chuntaro simply answered with squeaking "chu!"
As Zenitsu peered over his shoulder, the spot where he was moments ago was set on fire. His eyes widen in horror at the thought he could'v been a roasted meal, ready to eat dish for the demon if he didn't run.
He had another problem though.
"THE FOREST IS ON FIRE!"
When he looked back to his path, another screech escaped his throat. "A GIRL!"
He stopped right in front of her. The girl was smiling at him.
You raised your index finger and swayed it from one side to another with each syllable of your words. "That will be taken care of!"
With a snap of your fingers, the fire was gone.
Zenitsu could only look at the burnt trees with terrified eyes. "W-wha—"
You waltzed past him, approaching the scene. Zenitsu screamed, "WHAT KIND OF WITCHCRAFT IS THAT?!"
He trailed behind you to inspect the ash-filled scene. He studied you. You were occupied with searching for the remains the demon.
Zenitsu noticed the scales peeking through your scarf. Your eyes were totally different from the others. He couldn't describe how majestic and magical they looked like to him. The small scales from the corner of your left eyes that seemed to surround your bags complimented them.
You seemed pretty normal for him except for the littered scales that managed to catch his eyes. They decorated your hands and wrists. You were wearing a yukata with a scarf covering your neck. It wasn't unusual since the year is entering its winter season.
"Seems like it's gone!" you chirped, clapping your hands together.
"Breathtaking..." Zenitsu mumbled. When your eyes meet, he snapped out of his trance.
"Please marry me!" he knelt in front of you. At first you were confused, but chuckled at the antics of the demon slayer.
"You need to work for someone's heart first before asking for marriage!"
Zenitsu deflated at your implied refection.
You grinned at him. "Although, I won't mind to spend time with you!"
Zenitsu sputtered out his name, "Z-Zenitsu! Agatsuma Ze-Zenitsu!"
"I'm (L/N) (Y/N). Nice to meet you, Zenitsu-kun."
The way you called him resounded in him mind over and over again like an endless echo.
