"(L/n), what do we do?!"

(Y/n) thought for a second and had an idea. She commanded the two boys, "When he starts coming down after grabbing the points, I'm going to create a steppingstone. Sero, prepare to grab him!"

"Gotcha!" Sero responded, getting ready.

"Who's got the points?" Bakugo asked as he was flying through the air, then he noticed Todoroki and changed directions. "Dammit IcyHot!"

"Times up!" Present Mic announced, which led to Bakugo landing on his face. "The second round is officially over."

"Katsuki!" (Y/n) ran over, sliding to the ground on her knees next to him.

"Bakugo! Are you okay?" Kirishima asked as he and Sero ran over.

Bakugo began to hit the ground, screaming like a child. Present Mic then announced that Team Bakugo was in second place. (Y/n) sighed. "We were so close to first."

"Sure, but we're still moving on," Sero pointed out in a nonchalant manner. "So it's all good."

"I don't think our leader will agree with that," Kirishima told him, looking at Bakugo as he screamed in anger. "Like at all."

"Katsuki," (Y/n) began to ask, turning to him as he rolled over, "are you okay?"

"No," he hissed in response.

"Come on, we're okay though," she told him as she got up, grabbing his hand to help him up.

As Present Mic announced the hour long lunch break, (Y/n) touched her nose, feeling something wet. She looked at her finger, noticing blood.

"Hey (L/n)," Kirishima asked, seeing her bloody nose, "are you okay? You didn't overexert yourself, right?"

"No I didn't. What I did in the cavalry battle wasn't even close to exertion," (Y/n) said, confused as she looked at the fresh blood on her finger. "But I don't think it's that."

She went to the bathroom, telling Kirishima and Bakugo that she'd meet them at the competitors' gate as she had to go clean up. After cleaning up her nose, she looked in the mirror, touching it. Her energy sensors triggered and she looked in the mirror, seeing herself in that view for the first time. She looked at her reflection, seeing a fully bright blue force. She then yelped and pulled her hand back.

"(Y/n)?" a voice came from outside the door. "You good?"

She exited the bathroom, expecting to see Kirishima, but found Bakugo waiting there instead.

"You okay?" he asked once again.

"Yeah, fine," (Y/n) lied, not knowing what to say after seeing her reflection.

"Are you sure--"

"I'm fine," she repeated. "Just fine."

"Okay, I don't want you passing out during the battle," Bakugo told her.

"Why? So it's a fair fight against you?" (Y/n) asked, crossing her arms.

"Not just against me," he continued. "I mean in general... I don't usually open up like this, especially in a place like this, but I do care about you, (Y/n). No matter what I say, you do matter to me."

(Y/n) blushed, relaxing her arms. Just as she was about to respond, Kirishima came around the corner.

"There you are, Bakugo!" Kirishima called out to him. "Well I guess we don't have to worry about waiting for (L/n), hehe."

"Let's go," Bakugo grumbled to the two of them, walking in front of them.

As they got out of the arena, Kirishima elbowed (Y/n) to get her attention.

"You know," he whispered, "when I told him that you went to the bathroom to clean up a bloody nose, he just walked off quickly and quietly. It seemed like he was rushing to make sure you were okay."

She just looked to Kirishima and blushed, hearing that made her reinforce how she felt about Bakugo.

As they got their lunch and sat down, Kirishima sitting next to Bakugo and across from Y/N, Kirishima began to talk to (Y/n) about the cavalry battle and all the quirks they encountered. While she was listening, she couldn't help but look over towards Bakugo once in a while.

"So," Kirishima started, taking a sip of water, "what do you think caused your bloody nose?"

"Honestly, I have no idea," (Y/n) responded. "But I did see something weird when I was in the bathroom."

"Well everything is weird if you put it in a bathroom," Kirishima told her, shrugging.

"Well yeah, but," she continued, "when I touched the mirror, the energy sensing part of my quirk just triggered, like I didn't mean to use it."

"What did you see?" Kirishima asked, causing Bakugo to turn more towards (Y/n) and look at her.

"I saw me... but it also wasn't me," she said as her pitch got higher, informing them what she saw as if she was confused as well--which she was.

"How can that be possible?" Bakugo asked, fully turning towards her. "It's your reflection, you're supposed to see you, idiot."

"Well, I did see me, but I also saw my quirk energy," she elaborated. "Instead of a slight glow, like I see with other people's quirk energies, I saw my entire body in a light blue light."

"Is that why you sounded like a puppy who's paw was just stepped on?"

"Yeah. Weird comparison but yeah."

"What do you think it means?"

"I think," she thought for a minute and had an idea. "I think there's more to my quirk than I thought, like I'm not scratching the surface or not digging deep enough."

"Maybe the festival is triggering something," Kirishima suggested.

"Maybe," (Y/n) answered. "I don't know, it may just be in my head."

(Y/n) was almost left to her own thoughts, mulling over the situation for only a couple seconds before she heard another voice speak. "Hey, (L/n)," Kaminari greeted, getting her attention.

"Hey, what's up?" (Y/n) responded, turning to see him and Mineta.

"So, I thought you may know but just in case, they said the girls have to wear those cheerleader uniforms for the cheer battle this afternoon," Mineta told her, gesturing to some of the cheerleaders in skimpy uniforms.

"What? Since when?" she asked, looking confused as she turned towards the cheerleaders and back to her two classmates.

"Since Mr. Aizawa announced it. What? Did you not hear?" Mineta said, turning around.

"How much do you believe that, (L/n)?" Kirishima asked, looking over to Kaminari and Mineta looking evil.

"Not much." (Y/n) shook her head, turning back to Bakugo and him.

"Well if you don't want to get in trou--" Kaminari started, getting cut off by Bakugo.

"That's not true and you know it!" Bakugo yelled, standing up from his seat. "Now get lost you wastes of breath!"

Mineta and Kaminari ran away at the sight and sound of Bakugo screaming at them.

"Woah, man, that was hardcore," Kirishima awed as Bakugo sat back down.

"Well they were clearly trying to trick her," Bakugo reasoned, crossing his arms.

"Yeah, thanks," (Y/n) said, putting her hand on his arm.

"Yeah, whatever," Bakugo responded, looking away from her and Kirishima and slightly blushing.

"Dude, are you blushing?" Kirishima asked him, pointing to his cheeks.

"What!? No I am not! Why would you even say that?!" Bakugo defended, flailing his arms into the air.

As Bakugo continued to yell at Kirishima, the lunch hour ended and the fighters could begin to prepare for the one-on-one battle round.

The classes then entered the arena, (Y/n) and the two other boys looked over to see most of the class 1-A girls in cheerleader uniforms. They seemed to realize it was all a ruse to get them in the stupid outfits.

"(L/n)," Yaoyorozu started, grabbing her shoulder. "How'd you get out of their stupid ruse?"

"Actually Katsuki yelled at them to get them to leave," (Y/n) responded, turning to see her uniform. "I'm sorry you got caught up... maybe don't listen to Mineta and Kaminari anymore."

"Yeah, you're right," she sighed, feeling defeated.

While Present Mic announced how the battles would work, Kirishima looked up at the board, "Aw yeah, finally getting the chance to show what we're made of! I watch these finals every year and now I'm actually in them!"

"Yeah, it's so weird to think about," (Y/n) said, walking over to him. "It's going to be so weird to see how these quirks clash with each other."

"Come closer and draw lots to see who you're up against," Midnight told the group, preparing for the battles. "Then enjoy the pleasure of the recreational games before we start! The 16 have the option to participate or to prepare to battle, I'm sure you all want to conserve your stamina. I'll start with the first place team."

"Uh, excuse me," Ojiro rose his hand. "I'm sorry but I'm withdrawing."

As Ojiro explained why he was withdrawing, another following suit, (Y/n) began to think about it. I knew something was up with his team, she thought. When I touched the ground to sense the player's energies, I thought his team's was weird. Their quirk energies were the same, but with a darker tone, following the rider's energy. I wonder what that rider's quirk is...

"Listen to these guys, they're so manly," Kirishima gushed, beginning to tear up as he clenched his fist.

"This sort of talk is incredibly naive my boys," Midnight announce after hearing them. "It turns me on! Shota, Ojiro, you're withdrawn."

"Did she say it turned her on?" (Y/n) whispered to Bakugo.

"Sounds like it," he responded.

The bracket was then set and (Y/n) was up against Aoyama.

"Ma cherie," Aoyama told her, walking up to her. "I'm afraid it's the end of the road for you."

"In your dreams," (Y/n) responded, winking playfully.

She walked over to Bakugo, seeing his opponent was Uraraka.

"Uraraka, who the hell is that?" he questioned as (Y/n) approached him.

"You're kidding, right?" she asked, shaking her head. "She's our classmate and one of my friends, you idiot."

"Well I don't know all your friends!" he retorted.

"Well clearly you don't!" she snapped back.

As the two continued arguing, Uraraka came to the two and put up her pompoms.

"You two fight like an old married couple!" she gushed, causing (Y/n) and Bakugo to glare at her.

"Uraraka!" (Y/n) exclaimed, changing her glare to an embarrassed blush. "Come on... really..."

"I'm gonna go stretch, you coming?" Bakugo asked (Y/n), beginning to walk away.

She looked to Uraraka, who smiled and nodded, silently giving her the okay.

"Coming!" (Y/n) said, running up to him.

As they stretched under one of the trees outside, (Y/n) couldn't help but think about the cavalry battle.

"Why do you suppose Ojiro dropped out?" she questioned, stretching her arms out.

"I don't know," Bakugo responded, reaching down to try and touch his toes. "What do you think? Did you sense anything weird from them when you checked the energies?"

"Yeah, actually, I did," she told him. "When I sensed them, their quirk energies seemed to be clouded, kind of like the energy from their rider, the one who basically declared war on you."

"Really? That's weird."

"Yeah, it was like they were brainwashed or something," she thought out loud. "If that's true, then Izuku better be careful."

"Why do you say that about Deku?"

"Because Izuku is the first match, and it's against him."

"Well..." Bakugo stood up again. "This could get interesting..."
