Another month went by... My boss Branden decided to throw another one of his fund raiser parties tonight. So I was working with two other waiterses. The kitchen staff just handed us some trays with champagne and we were walking around the room between 500 people, handing out some champagne.
I saw Branden talking to this one guy all night but I couldn't see his face just his back. So I went to him and his friend to give them some champagne.
"Branden, sir. Would you like some champagne?" I asked and they both turned to me and then I saw who the guy was. It was him, the guy who ordered the coffee from me. My eyes widen and I stare at him. He smiles and takes a glass of champagne from the tray, Branden soon takes one too.
"Jordan please meet my partner, the guy who owns half of the coffee shop, Alex, Alex this is my star waitress, Jordan." Alex and I were looking at each other, I was still surprised to see him and now I found out he is half my boss as well. He smiles at me and nods.
"Nice to meet you Jordan." he says all friendly and polite. I just smiled and nod. I turn around as quickly as I can not even looking if there is anyone behind me. And I bumped into one of the other waiterses and our trays drops to the floor. I stare down and we both went down to the floor to pick it up and soon another person helps us, when I look up it was Alex.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you." he says handing me some of the glasses. I take it from him and put it on the tray.
"Thank you." I said and I get the tray and make my way back to the kitchen. I quickly clean up the tray and grab another one. The rest of the night I try to avoid the guy, Alex.
Soon our shift ended and the people were all leaving. We quickly cleaned up and all of went home.
When I step outside the door and was just trying to get a cab home I see Alex standing outside the shop, leaning against the wall. I look his way confused.
"Hey." I said shyly. He smiles and looks at me.
"Do you need a ride home?" he asks me.
"No I'm okay. I can just take a cab home."
"There is no way I'm letting a beautiful girl like you take a cab home. Besides I want to talk to you. Come my car is right here." he says and he points to one of these porch suvs. I nod and we get into his car, like a real gentleman he opened the door for me. As soon as he gets in he drives and I tell him my address.
"How long have you been working at the coffee shop?"
"It's about 3 years now. I never knew you were the secret partner."
"No one knows. So when is your next day off?"
"Next week Wednesday, why?"
"Cause I want to take you out to dinner if I can?"
"Oh okay."
He chuckles and I looked at him confused.
"I ask you out and all you say is oh okay."
"Wait what?"
"Jordan will you go out on a date with me on Wednesday night?"
"You wanna go out with me?"
"I just asked you so will you?"
"Yeah I guess I will."
"Is that a yes?"
"Yes. It's a yes."
He parked just outside the building of our apartment and he quickly gets out to open up the door for me. I get out and he smirks at me.
"Thanks for the ride."
"No problem Jordan. I'll see you on Wednesday. I'll pick you up at 7."
"Okay. Goodnight Alex."
"Goodnight Jordan."
I went inside and he left.
