In was now morning in the area where Ryder and the pups camped out,the sun was shining,birds were chirping,almost all the animals in the jungle are awake.
Ryder was the first one to wake up, among the group and was headed to the site were all of them had eaten last night,followed by Robo-Dog,his personals robotic assistant."Guess we'll prepare everyone's breakfast,huh?"he said followed by a long yawn and some stretches,Robo-Dog on the other hand had brought a mini stove out of the paw patroller, with breakfast ingredients carried by Ryder.
"So how,about making an omelette
rice,sounds good?"Robo-Dog bark in response,after that they have started cooking,Robo-Dog started the stove and putted the frying pan,and added some oil,and Ryder began slicing some onions,garlic and etc.,as Robo-Dog started beating the eggs,and added some pepper and salt.
Ryder started pouring the egg in the pan,while adding in some few seasonings."Smells good Robo-Dog,pls go prepare the plates for everyone."Robo-Dog did what was said to him,and started preparing everyone's plates.I think we're almost done,I just need to add the rice."Robo-Dog bark in response.
Minutes gave past,and Ryder is finally done with his life changing dish,after preparing everything,he grabbed a metal bowl,and a stick and tapped it,signaling that it was time to wake up and breakfast was ready.
Then in just a flash Rubble was the first to wake up,and was beside his pup bowl,begging for the food to come,he was followed by 6 yawning pups.
"Hey,pups,Carlos,come on eat up,before it gets cold."
"Wow,Ryder,you made omelette rice,mucho deliciouso."Tracker said delighted by the dish,Ryder replied with a thanks.
"Yeah,it's so delicious."Rubble said with a mouthfull,earning a laugh from everyone.They just sat there,in their camp site enjoying their meals as they chat about various things.
"So,pups,after this you can go and play,cause we'll be leaving this afternoon."Ryder said as he eats his meal.
"Awww,why leave so soon Ryder?"Carlos asks,curious about the sudden announcement.
"Mayor Goodway,said that theres gonna be an event in Adventure Bay,and I think she needs our help,she didn't give me much detail though.?
"Oh,ok, guess we'll come at that event,just call us if it starts."Carlos replied,earning a nod from Ryder,
After that everyone had finished eating breakfast,and began enjoying their limited time at the jungle.
Marshall's POV:
After everyone disperse from the campsite where we ate,we each started doing the things we want to do.I was planning on helping Tracker and Carlos take some animal pictures,until I notice that Chase was walking unsteady under a tree,and immeadiately layed down,I was about to go,the memory from last night still,hasn't left me,until a cough caught my attention,and the cough was coming from the laying shepherd.
I made up my mind to check on him,but a part me was nervous,because I might start some awkward conversation again,because of last nights scenery.
Just help him,Marshall,you're the EMT pup,it's you're job to help a sick person or pup.I mentally said to my self.
I was now only a few paw steps away
from him and I decided to talk as I come closer,"Hey,umm,Chase,are you okay?"he immediately raised his head,his caramel brown eyes are staring directed into mine,I can feel my heart beating fast,"Oh,yeah,I'm fine,Why?"he replied,followed by a few coughs in each word he makes,that's why I didn't believe him,"Really?Cause to me you sounded a little hoarse."I said with worry in my tone,"No,I'm just a little pup,"he joked,sarcastically,we both laugh,but he was stopped by another hard cough,"Are you really ok?Chase."I say as I got close to him,putting my paw in his forehead,"Chase,you're burning hot,I think you had a fever,you need to rest,at a warm place!"I continued with concern in my voice,yet he still managed to laugh,"What's so funny?"I ask a bit annoyed,"Nothing,it's just,I've always like this side of you,where you show concern to you're patient and how you treat them till they get better,I've always been fond of that,thanks Marshall,for caring,"he stated,I instantly blushed by that compliment,and turned around so thaf he wouldn't notice,"Thanks,Chase,no one ever said that to me,"I replied smiling,what he said really warmed my heart,"Come on,let's get,you to the paw patroller,where there is a heat conditon,and some warm blankets,I'll help you get there,"I continued,the blush on my face has now disappeared,and earning another thanks from him,"Can you walk?"I ask him,"I..t-think so."he said trying to stand up,but instantly fell down,"So,guess not?"I say a little,chuckle escape my mouth,"It's ok,I'll carry you,youre not that heavy."then after that,he went on my back,carrying him,like giving a piggy back ride,"Thanks again Marshall,I owe you one."then after that he slowly closed his eyes,and slept on my back,his fur was now brushing against my backfur,I could feel his heat transferring into mine,and those words from him,I could listen to it all day,he even complimented me,
"Oh,Chase,why do you make me more fallen to you than I've already are",I say in my thoughts
And so after a few walks with Chase on my back,we have reached the paw patroller where we found Ryder,arranging some supplies.
"Hey,Ryder,Chase caught a cold,can he stay till his fever goes down?"I say in a sincere voice,not sounding in a panicking tone.
"What?!Chase has a fever?,of course he can rest here,Robo-Dog has turned on the heat conditioner,"Ryder replied with worried in his eyes,as he lifted off Chase,and put him on the chair,where Chase was no resting peacefully.
"Marshall,were you the one,who first noticed,that Chase was ill?"Ryder said with a slight smirk on his face,I just swallowed my throat,"Y-yeah,why?"I replied,"I've noticed that,you have been keeping you're attention to you're co-leader,why is that?"he asked me out of nowhere,"Uh,what are you talking about Ryder,it's just his my bestfriend,and friends are suppose to watch their backs,right?"I replied even more nervous,but the smirk on Ryder's face has grew.
"Come with me,Marshall."he said pointing in the drivers sit,of the pae patroller,but I hesitated,because Chase here isn't feeling well,and he needs medical attention,"Don't worry,Robo-Dog,can watch over him for now,you can come back to you're bestfriend later,don't worry it won't take long."he said emphasizing the word bestfriend,followed by a slight chuckle,and so I followed.
We we're now in the drivers sit of the vehicle,and Ryder immediately ask me a question,"Marshall,do you like Chase,no not like,are you in love with him?",my face was boiling hot of that question,and I couldn't find the words to answer,"I........I,wha..I.."Ryder just made small laughs,and finally came to a stop,"I knew it,you're in love with you're bestfriend,"he said to me with a gentle tone,wiping the tears in his eyes,and I finally managed to speak,"Ryder,I am not in love with him,his just a friend to me,a FRIEND!"I replied,then he spoke,"Marshall,theres no point in denying,about you're feelings,because once you fall in love,you can't pretend thatbyou don't,"I was triggered by what Ryder said,because it's true,then I quitely lowered my head and said,"How did you know,Ryder?"I asked in a defeated tone,"When you were playing king Arthur,Chase told me you help him with his lines,Chase never stop talking about you,and when you got lost in that cave,and Chase found you,you said being in a dark gave don't scare you,and you pointed at him,after some thought I realized that my little pup is in love,I'm suprised you haven't told him yet,"he finally finished his statement,which suprised me,because his been observing us,"Ryder,I can't tell him,because his my best friend,Ryder,my BESTFRIEND,for me, I'm satisfied with that."then he let out a long sigh,"Marshall let me say this again,once you fall in love you can't pretend that you don't,lie to me,lie to yourself,even lie to Chase,but what you cannot lie on,is you're own feelings,and you're heart,"he said pointing at my chest.
Then I sigh,"Ryder,it's true,I have fallen for him,but as all confession goes,you confess,you got rejected and you don't talk anymore,I don't want that Ryder,I have no idea,that being in love would be this painful.I already know the fact that he likes Skye,atleast,I'm happy when his happy."I say,a bit of sadness in my tone,Ryder patted my head,for comfort,"How can you be so sure,he likes Skye?"I was speechless,I too,was still not sure,whether he likes Skye or not."You'll never know unless you try,because that's how the world works,you must take the risk."
I ust smiled at Ryder's comfortable advice,because in every word he says,gives me hope that Chase might like me back,but I know that confessing is a double edge sword,well atleast I'll try to be honest to Chase,still there is still a part of me that are scared,"You're right,Ryder,maybe I'll try to tell him,how I feel,because I've been keeping this a secret for the past 3 years,I think I'll tell him,as much as I want this feeling to disappear,I think I'll just let ir out of my chest,"I say with a small smile developing my face,"Wow,you're suddenly brave,Marshal,I'm proud of you,and you know you're right,keeping something hidden will only make it grow and more painful in the end,so when are you gonna tell him?"He ask me,and I hesitated to answer,"Maybe,before Valentine's?by the way Ryder,how come you're ok with this,?"my sentece just made his head tilt,"How come you're ok,having a faggot pup,like me,I thought after you discovered my secret you would.........."I hesitated to finish my sentence,and was interrupted byva warm embrace,"Never ever think about that,I wouldn't do that to you,it's ok to be yourself,because it's better to be who you are,than to be someone you're not,I respect pups and persons like you,because who am I to judge,all of you are a family to me,whatever you are,whoever you are,I will always love you,you all are important to me.Was that enough to answer you're question?"He said to me,still in his embrace,I just excret some tears some tears in my eyes,no one has ever loved as more than Ryder,"You're the best Ryder,thanks for everything,and thank you for understanding,"I say as I let go of his embrace,and standing up in all four,"We'll I better get back to my patient,Ryder,again,thanks a lot,bye,"I say as the electric door,opened,"Good luck,Marshall,"I just smiled at him,and was headed to the living room of the vehicle.
As I enter the room,I see that Robo-Dog,has given Chase some pillows and blankets to sleep in,I just sat a few centimeters away from Chase,I was just in my mind,thinking of the possible outcome of me confessing to him,but I just put that aside,and focus my attention,on the sleeping,shepperd,"You're such an idiot,Chase,getting yourself sick,now I have to look after you,"I say quietly,with some slight chuckles,as I move closer over besides him,'get well soon Chase",I say in my thoughts,and I too,had drifted off to sleep.
