Matt's POV
2 minutes.
That was all we had.
It was a Friday night and it was the biggest football game this season.
We were facing our rivals to see who would win the finals.
We were down two points. The crowd was on their feet and cheering their hearts out.
As I was running out to the field, I caught a glimpse of my beautiful girlfriend. She was cheering in the cheer block, wearing my jersey.
Focus.
We ran over the play again, before getting into position.
"HIKE."
Everything was happening in slow motion. I was running for dear life. Our QB saw that I was open, so he sent the ball spiraling through the air.
I was running to catch it, no one was in sight.
The ball was high up in the air so I was going to have to jump.
I planted my feet and jumped as high as I could. My fingertips grazed the ball before a huge figure slammed into me, knocking the ball and wind out of me.
I couldn't feel anything; heck I was having trouble breathing. All I saw was complete darkness.
I heard the whistle blow, and sensed some figures around my body.
"Don't touch him."
"Call an ambulance."
"Matt, can you hear me?"
My body felt like it was on fire. I managed to squeak out a yes.
"The ambulance is on it's way. You're going to be okay."
"I-I need her."
That was the last sentence I could make out, before darkness took over me again.
Regular POV
I didn't wait any longer. Once he hit the ground, I rushed onto the field.
The crowd fell silent, everyone rose to their feet.
"MATT!" I yelled, running as fast as I could to him.
I kneeled next to him and grabbed his hand, tears forming in my eyes.
"I-is he going to be okay?" I asked.
"He's gonna be fine."
Shortly after, the paramedics arrived and strapped him to the stretcher. I hopped in the back if the ambulance, my hand never leaving his.
"Matt, baby, please open your eyes."
I kept squeezing his hand, hoping he would wake up.
After a couple of minutes, his eyes fluttered open slowly.
"Matt!"
He took in the scene once his eyes were fully open.
"Babe," he managed to get out.
"It's okay babe, I'm here. How do you feel?"
"S-so much pain," he whimpered out.
"It's okay baby, we're almost to the hospital," I said, calmly.
When we got to the hospital, the paramedics rushed him inside, with me hot on their tails.
"Miss, I'm afraid you can't go back there," a doctor stopped me.
"B-but I need her," Matt said.
"Don't worry, babe. I'll be right here."
I smiled at him, which caused him to smile, as he was wheeled away from me to get checked on.
He was going to be just fine.
AN- Yo! Hope y'all like this Matt imagine:) There is more to come....
