Aura tried to comb Vin's hair as he squirmed, a bright smile on his face.
"Stay still Vin" she soothed, trying to tie his hair.
He groaned but stayed still nonetheless, allowing Aura to tie his hair in a bun at the back of his head.
He sent her a grin and ran off, probably to bother Axl who wanted to get some work done before they left.
Aura sighed and tied her hair into a bun on top of her head and slipped on her clean white sneakers
She knew it would have been better if she didn't change clothes besides what she had on was perfectly fine.
She jogged downstairs to find her son and ex husband laughing about something.
Her breath was literally knocked away.
Axl was in a sea blue shirt that had a few of it's buttons open putting his abs and chest hair on display, black shorts that got to his thigh and white sneakers.
"Are you guys ready to go?" Aura cleared her throat.
Vin hummed and rushed to her and made grabby hands at her.
She picked him up and balanced him on her hips.
"Are you ready?" Axl asked as he slipped his phone into his pocket.
She nodded.
"I left the snacks in the kitchen" she kissed Vin's cheeks "it's in a lunchbox please get it for me?"
He nodded and dashed to the kitchen, only to return a few seconds later with a navy blue lunch box draped on his shoulder.
He grabbed a random car key from the table and led them out.
A cool breeze hit Aura and she relaxed, Vin making sounds and passing grins to his dad on her hip.
He was very very excited.
Axl led them to a matte white Volkswagen Atlas.
Aura gasped as she noticed a spiderman themed forward facing harness booster seat .
"It's just like the one I have" Vin squealed and Aura nodded, strapping him in the seat.
Aura climbed into the front passenger seat while Axl slid into the driver's seat.
Aura strapped herself into the seat and Axl started the drive as soon as he heard a click from her seatbelt.
"The trip is going to take a while so why don't you nap a little buddy?" Axl said softly as Vin looked around tiredly.
He nodded and closed his eyes, allowing his lips to part a little.
Aura opened her mouth to say something but decided against it and watched as Axl drove carefully on the road, leaning her forehead against the window, a frown on her face.
Everything was so chaotic and complicated but all she wanted was peace.
Peace for her baby boy who didn't need to suffer for her sins.
Suffer for her mistakes.
Suffer because of her past.
Then all her anger was directed to Rodrigo.
Her boyfriend.
If only.

"Vin" Axl cooed as he ruffled his son's curly hair.
Vin mumbled incoherent words and stretched his arms.
He smiled at his father and mumbled something.
"Where is mama?" He asked, looking around.
"Mama said we should go ahead" he smiled "she'll catch up to us"
Vin nodded and looked around excitedly.
The oceanarium was dark and tanks filled with water and marine life.
"Down" Vin demanded, bursting with excitement.
Axl chuckled but dropped him to his feet, allowing him to run around freely.
He slammed his face against the glass, giggling uncontrollably.
"Papa come quick" Vin yelled.
Axl smiled.
He was never going to get used to the fact that he was a father.
That he created a little life.
That he had someone to love.
"I'm coming" he hollered as he rushed to his over-excited son.

"I'm having so much fun" Vin bubbled "thanks papa, thanks mama"
"You should be thanking papa" Aura winked, making Axl smile sadly.
She beat herself too much for her mistake.
Your past should never define your future.
It's like your old house.
You don't live there anymore.
The items in it aren't yours anymore.
"You're welcome" Axl exclaimed "we can come here everyday if you like"
Aura stared at him, her eyes wide-eyed.
Oh boy-
"Yes" Vin screamed "Thank you papa"
"No" Aura quickly interjected "we can't come here everyday"
"Why not?" Both her son and ex husband pouted.
"You have school" she said sternly to her son then faced her ex "and you have work"
They were about to whine about how unfair she was being when a loud ringing penetrated the air making everyone freeze.
"Run" someone yells "it's a gunshot"
Everyone went still for a moment, as if trying to digest the information before a shrill scream disrupted them, bringing chaos all around.
Vin looked uncomfortable.
"Shit" Axl yelled, his hand flying to his belt buckle.
Aura covered Vin with her hand.
"Get undercover" Axl yelled.
He knew trying to run in his chaos would get them killed.
He pushed them into a small storage room which seemed to be a supplies room.
"Stay here Aura" he yelled "don't get out"
"But what about y-" he cut her off by pulling her into a kiss.
Axl kept his eyes open but Aura closed her's allowing the sweet feeling of his lips against hers to invade her senses.
Then he pulled away unexpectedly, kissed Vin's cheeks then slammed the door shut.
Aura allowed the tears to roll down her cheek and Vin tried to hide himself in her body.
"Why did pa-papa go?" He asked.
"He's going to save us baby" she caressed his cheek "he is our hero after all"
Axl watched as the bullets flew all around the oceanarium, killing everybody and anyone, his gun in hand.
He had called for backup as soon as a bullet went off - he wasn't a stupid mafia leader who thought he could take on an enemy one verses a thousand -
A large number of the people had already escaped - and the latter was a lifeless corpse on the floor -and the attackers allowed it.
Because they weren't here to rob - who robs an oceanarium anyways - or on a killing spree.
They were here for one reason and one reason only.
To capture the Russian King and Queen.
