I actually had it all planned in my head, and when I tried to write it down, it just left me.......

"Principle Evan, are you sure it's okay for them to do this? Could they perhaps owe you something, that's why they did that willingly?" Shao Long talked over the phone while his hand was busy scribbling the plans of the current business affair. He was in his room after the meeting, tired and unrested. The previous dream had done everything but let him have a good rest.
"Oh, actually, they did owe me something. Now we're ALMOST even. That, and they hate Xi Shen Ko" Principle Evan's voice sounded from the phone.
Xi Shen Ko was the name of their father. A nice name for a terrible person. Shao Long preferred to call him that than call him father. Same goes for Shao Jun.
"Then that makes me one of the people owing you favours? That sounds scary enough" Shao Long joked.
"You already did your part. That, and I have something to say to you. Please don't freak out, because I swear nothing bad will happen" the man's voice suddenly became serious.
Shao Long paused for a while ".....That didn't sound good. Is it that bad?"
"I..........may have told bits of your problems to them..."
Shao Long's face drained of blood, eyes bulging out in complete horror...
"......what?" Shao Long was deadpanned. He wanted to shout, but was too shocked that voices stuck at his throat.
"You........told them?!" Shao Long couldn't keep it down anymore. He abruptly stood from his bed in panic, walking with trembling knees here and there "What do you mean you told them?! I thought you said you won't! Why did you even do that?! Is that necessary?! You'll get me killed! What the hell, Sir, YOU PROMISED FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, YOU CAN'T BE FREAKING SERIOUS RIGHT NOW!!"
Someone banged on the door. Instantly, Shao Long jumped in shock, clearly panicked enough. Xueyang's voice rang from outside "YOUNG MASTER SHAO LONG, ARE YOU OKAY?!"
"I'm fine I'm fine!" he immediately went back to his phone.
"Explanation. Now!"
"Calm down, calm down. It's not good for you. I told you, you can rest assured. I didn't tell them too much about it. I had to convince them that you're different from Xi Shen Ko. They would've never believed me if I didn't say that you're my student and is currently being burdened by this court stuff. I trust them, and they promised not to tell anyone. You're safe, Shao Long, no need to panic" Principle Evan's voice sounded monotone, but only few could notice the huge concern he had in him. Shao Long wasn't one of them due to his panic.
"You........what exactly did you tell them?" Shao Long's voice was shaky.
"I told them that the bastard left the matter of court be handled by you alone, and your plans. They were really fond of your plans. I didn't say anything about the abuse or the surgery, you can relax" Principle Evan sighed. Once more, he felt like another useless human being for letting this happen.
"You really didn't?" Shao Long asked.
"Of course not. I respect your privacy. Although I'd love to tell someone else, I would never. As long as you didn't allow me".
Shao Long breathed out a heavy sigh of relief before slumping into his bed. "Thank you".
"Well...... wasn't expecting that" the other person responded.
"What were you expecting, me lashing out? I'm too lazy for that" Shao Long chuckled.
"Yeah yeah, says the person who made new formulas just because they can't understand YouTube". Shao Long could've sworn he could see Principle Evan rolling his eyes.
"Forget about the formula. Now how should I repay you three?" Shao Long pushed away the subject.
"Three? As in me, the investor and the owner of Mo Ye?"
"Who else? Anyway, this weekend, students are allowed to go outside right?"
"Yes. I heard from Livio that your hairdryer broke. You can buy a new one this weekend".
"I will. Oh, and thank you, Principle Evan. You don't know how much of a help you've been. I'll call you later for any update" and that's how their conversation ended that day.
🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
What Shao Long didn't know was the fact that right after the phone call, Principle Evan sighed, mumbling quietly to himself "What help have I been to him? I couldn't even save him?........."
"What was that?" Godfreg asked as he caught him mumbling.
"Nothing nothing" Evan sighed. Godfreg shrugged it off and focused on his computer instead. He was still fixing the school system that was all jumbled up from the virus. Since the document that was affected are too much to count, it took him more than a day to deal with it.
Evan pinched his nose in frustration before glancing at Godfreg. This assistant of his isn't married yet, if he remembered correctly. He was already old enough for a relationship. With that look, he could've hooked up with any girl he wanted, especially with his decent personality......
"Say, Godfreg, why aren't you married yet?" Evan asked with a frown. Godfreg was taken aback from this question, and scratched the back of his neck.
"Why, huh? I'm not too sure, I'm just not interested about getting into a relationship" he answered.
"That's odd. Aren't you supposed to have taken a fancy on that girl we met in Norway?"
"Which one? The blonde or the brunette?"
"Blonde one! Her name's Sophia, right? Aren't you still in contact with her?"
"Her? She changed her number apparantly. I can't reach her anymore. In any case, Sophia and I aren't in a relationship, nor am I sexually attracted to her, or anyone in particular".
"You're so boring!" Evan huffed in annoyance, crossing his arms. Godfreg rolled his eyes with a smile and went back to his work.
It was quiet for some minutes now.
"....say, how'd you feel about adopting children?" Evan suddenly asked. He apparantly surprised himself by asking this. All he knew was that Godfreg always treated children with great care. He got along well with them too.
"Children?" Godfreg raised his brow in suspicion "What do you mean adopting children? I can't take care of them like this at work".
Evan frowned "Then what if you are able to, given the circumstances?"
"You want to fire me?!" Godfreg widened his eyes in shock. Abruptly, he stood up and dashed to Evan's desk "What did I do?!"
"I'M nOT fIRIng YoUR AsS YoU BIg oAF" Evan exclaimed, a vein popping on his forehead. He was smirking his annoyed smirk, face red in frustration. Why was it so damn hard to talk to this guy.
"Phew. That's a relief. Well, if I'm a normal person living in the city without being tied to anything, I think adopting children wouldn't be too bad of an idea, but I still love working here, so that's not gonna happen" Godfreg walked over to his seat like nothing happened, which kind of pissed Evan off more.
"Well then.......what if those children are teenagers? And they're able to study here? Would you do it?" Evan suddenly thought up of a crazy plan, if you know what I mean....
"Teenagers? Well, adopting teenagers are rare. And to enter, he had to be at least 15. That's pretty old for an adoptive children, but they have extremely low chances of adoption. That makes them almost impossible to be adopted. Thinking back, they are more pitiful than newborn orphans....."
"I'm not asking what you think of teenage orphans, I'm asking about YOU adopting them" Evan grumbled.
"Well.........that does sound like a good thing to do. Depends on the teenager themselves then. It's hard to adopt teenagers, they'll have a hard time adjusting and we don't know who they are and what they would do given the chances" Godfreg revealed a smile.
"How about.........if you know those children? Like, you've met them, and known them for long? Would you adopt them?"
Godfreg sighed with a dejected smile "Why are you asking me this? Could it be that you found a teenage orphan to adopt but can't because you already have Alex?"
"..........Godfreg my friend, you are sharp and precise as always, but let's all ignore this fact and just answer the question".
"Fine. In truth, I've always wanted to adopt some children. Then, if it is as you say........adopting them wouldn't sound too bad. Depends, Evan. Depends".
Evan groaned in defeat.
Now how should he help Shao Long and Shao Jun?
🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Right after the phone call with Principle Evan, Shao Long slumped into his bed with an exhausted sigh. A smile crept to his lips. Everything just works out right......
It almost feels wrong.
Just as he was about to fall into a nap he desperately needed, his phone rang for notification. Shao Long grumbled before opening his phone. It was a message from his father.
Instantly, Shao Long sat up, all dizziness and fatigue escaped his mind. There was a video uploaded.
With his heart racing, Shao Long played the video.
It was a funeral.
A complete funeral equipped with every needs required traditionally, including the incinerator, the prayer, the ceremony, everything. It could've seem like any other normal rich people funeral, but the uneasy feeling never left Shao Long's chest. Something's not right, who died? It was clearly someone in his family, due to the family name imprinted on the coffin, but as far as he is concerned, he had no other relatives, none that he would concern him. Why would his father send him this video?
Another message popped up in his screen...
'I thought you should know. After all, she loved you'
Shao Long paled.
"What?" he muttered, rather breathless.
Another message 'She found out about the surgery, and went to find me. Someone had to stop her. Her voice is too shrilly for my liking'.
Shao Long trembled. No, it couldn't possibly be happening, she wasn't supposed to-
'Her face when I suffocated her in her own blood is priceless. I should've done it in front of you'
That was it. Xi Shen Ko was a murderer. He, a businessman, the richest man in China, suspected of bribery and many more, had murdered his own wife, and got away with it.....
Shao Long's mother.
He and Shao Jun's mother......
Shao Long found it hard to breathe. He couldn't believe him. Furiously, he typed back.
'You're lying, it couldn't have been her'
Almost instantly, he got a reply.
'Oh no, it is her. Haven't you checked the news?'
Without any sense of hesitation, Shao Long went to verify the truth in his words. Although parts of him knew that everything that went past his father's lips are all but lies, he had very little hope, that this was all just a bad dream. It couldn't be possible, his father wouldn't have done it! He was supposed to love her!
'Wife of Xi Shen Ko, richest man in China found dead in his own mansion', the main article of China's news........
Shao Long felt his heart drop. "No...no this can't be true!" he exclaimed in panic. In uneven breaths, Shao Long went back to message his father "You killed her. You killed her you sick bastard!!" he didn't know where he found this courage, but he was too furious to think sanely. He was toppled on the floor, knees too weak to stand. One drop of tear escaped the corner of his eye. One, followed by two, followed by more...
And more.
And more.
He got a reply 'You only know now? Well that wasn't even the worst I'd done. My secretary will send you a set of applicants for the sponsors in a few minutes. Get them done by tomorrow or you'll regret it'.
The phone dropped to the ground. Shao Long's face sunken. He had really done it? Yes, Xi Shen Ko, the man he hated most, had killed his mother and acted like nothing happened.
Shao Long looked up to the ceiling of his room. The tears had yet to stop, and yet he felt so empty already. He felt so tired, so exhausted, drained, dragged down. Like gravity. What was it that he felt?
Oh yes, it was sadness, it was grief. His mother had died, killed by his father. Does anyone else experience this? Maybe some do. But why him of all people? Billions of people alive in the world, and it had to be him that his father hates, him with such fate, him with all the burden the world cannot see. He couldn't even shout, people might hear him.... He wanted to lash out so so much.....
Why was it so unfair suddenly? Others got their parents until their deaths, many had parents with stable relationship...
Why couldn't he have it too.
Shao Long felt his chest tightening, the pain was clutching his heart. He grunted, clasping his chest. Lying on the ground, shallowed breath, Shao Long looked so broken. His hair was in a mess, sweat flowed down his back. His chest hurts.....so much.
His world became black.
