Kelvin's POV
I was my brothers number one fan and and he was mine. He's had my back ever since I was was born never letting me out of his sight, that's why it kind of crushed me when his recovery was slow. But not any more; Denis has fully recovered and he was coming home tonight. I smiled as I sang along to our favorite song, "Put it all on me" by Ed Sheeren. We are both huge fans of his work and sometime all I just need to do was listen to his songs and I would immediately get inspirited to sketch a designer gown or outfit.
I was currently in Denis room looking through his things so I could pack him the appropriate clothes he could wear when he gets discharged. After a while of looking through his thing, I settled for a white briefs and singlet, a washed up jeans and a blue Nike shirt that says just do it. I took a simple slide to complete the outfit and folded it in a nap sack. After shutting down the whole electrical appliances, I began to wonder how I will get to the hospital in time without getting stuck in traffic.
I grunted and called my mom who wasn't too far away. She went shopping for groceries so she would whip something up for Denis return. After all, he'd spent a good number of days in the hospital. He deserves a healthy meal. Once she picked me up, we both drove to the hospital and when I asked about Dad, she said he was already there.
Once we got to the hospital I was supper happy; I couldn't wait to see my big brother again. Hope the nurses treated him nicely. Now that I think about it, I though it was all thanks to Addie, Emmanuella's older sister. I still don't know how to thank her for taking out time from here busy schedule to visit my brother. Immediately we both entered the hospital; me holding the knapsack, I was beyond shocked as we both heard romantic music coming from the long hall.
"Okay, what's going on?" I thought. Even the reception was empty. This was very unusual for a busy hospital like ST Nicolas hospital. Something is definitely fishy; my mom and I both walked to the receptionist and my mom too charge asking the questions.
"Hello good afternoon, I am Denis's mother Mrs Adeleke. I was told my son is due to be discharged today. Are the documents for his discharge signed? "
"Ur yes, his father already did that earlier today. But umm, I'm not sure... Its just, you can't go in... At least not right now "
"And why if I may ask, are you preventing me from seeing my son "
"No ma'am I shouldn't have said that ... Umm pls come with me."
With that she led us to my brother's room even though we already knew the way. I guess it was her way of showing remorse for declining our access to my brother's hospital room.
Getting closer we were hearing the love song now loud and clear and it was from my brother's room. A small crowd gathered awning and squealing and from the love song, it was pretty obviously what was going on. We both received the shock of a life time because I never pictured it to happen this way. Well... I did picture it happening but, not in this kind of setting but i saw it coming.
That's why I'm not as surprised as a mum right now, and that is because I've always known that Dennis had a thing for Addie; Just the way i had a thing for Ella. it was pretty obvious that this two ladies had visible effect on us, I mean, we'd always go weak in the knees at the mention of their names how much more seeing them. Speaking of seeing them, my Mom and I were finally able to by pass the Small crowd at his door. we meet Denis still in the hospital bed proposing to Addison who was showing on a big TV screen, looking soo stunned and surprise as tears of joy were pouring from here eyes. The music "2U" by Justin Bieber was playing at the background as Denis was professing his undying love to her.
"Eniola Addison Adetokunbo, you are the most beautiful, talented, jovial yet uptight person I've ever meet and

I know this seems absurd and a little out of place but, will you come live with me forever at my places "
When she was to shell shocked to talk, I could tell he was getting scared she might reject him. Heck I was getting scared too, but he didn't give up as he pushed on
"I know our past worries you because not all of it was memorable, but our future can be brighter, can be infinite if only you say the magic word and be my forever Addie "
Yes! Yes Denis Adeleke I'll be yours forever!!!!
The screams squeals and awwwwns filled the whole hospital. Finally I said in my mind as i struggled through the crowd that were flooding into congratulate him and it took while to get to him because a lot of people were now in the room. Some where family members friends and family I just couldn't be more happier. Once I finally gotta pushed through the wall of people I reached my brother panting for breath because the room was really full bearly any spaced to breath.
"Hey baby bro "
"Hey big baby bro"
"Really?, again with that nick name. Dude"
"Alright, alright You're the man. But dude how'd you get the balls to do that. "
" I guess I couldn't live in denial for much longer Kelvin I... I love her "
"With all of your heart? "
" all of it "
"But what about me "
I asked an a childish tiny voice as I feign to be heart broken.
"C'mon you know your my favorite brother. "
"Yeah right your only brother you mean. Here I got you something to change into. "
"Did you hand pick these? "
" yea i--"
"Ewwww you went through my briefs!! "
"Believe me, I didn't want to but I had to save mother the torture. It's was either me or her"
"Good call I'll go change now. "
"Hey... Don't you dear break her heart because if you do --"
"I know what I'm doing Kelvin. SHE'S THE ONE. I've lost her once, I won't loose her again."
He muttered the last part but it was loud enough to hear, since it was just us. Mom and dad had found a way to excuse the people that made the room crowded and chocked up also using that to give us some privacy. Once he was all dressed, we all headed home to prepare for the engagement party at out house. Inviting virtually everyone that witnessed his proposal in the hospital earlier today.
Every thing seems to be going well, Addie was happily staring at her ring in the corner, Zoey way being the ever dramatic Zoey, taking pictures with everything and everyone, Ella and I were in out own little world, but there was still something missing,
something I was forgetting I just couldn't place a finger on what it was. It wasn't until Emmanuella who was also invited to the party mentioned
"whao!! Denis really is quite the charmer. Who knew a virtual proposal to Addie on her birthday would a total spot on. "
i visibly froze at her statement as I said
"Urgh! so that's what I was forgetting "
I muttered to my self. It had totally skipped my mind that Emmanuella was still besides me, and when I realize that she might have heard what I said , I quickly changed the subject complimenting her outfits. She was dressed in a simple Ankara gown that hugged her upper body perfectly and from there down to here keens was free. She looked so beautiful without even trying with her hair falling perfectly over her head. All I wanted was me and her and nothing in between, I didn't know I was drooling until she cleared her throat loudly snapping here finger in my face.
