Audrey's POV
"Wake up Sleepy head."
"Mommy?" I mumble as I feel someone running their hand through my hair.
"Open those eyes baby." Mom says then my eyes flutter open. "There's those eyes I love."
"Wha...what happened?" I ask. "I know I got hurt, but what happened?"
"You passed out in the ambulance and you stayed passed out so they gave you anesthesia when we got here then they took you to surgery. The surgery took 4 hours to repair everything then they brought you here where you've been recovering for 30 or so minutes."
"Mommy?"
"Yes baby?" Mom says.
"Where's Daan?"
"She and your other Dutch club teammates were here, but I sent her, Viv, and Jill to get food so they'll be back soon with actual food." Mom says.
"And the team?" I question.
"They've been here for the last two hours."
"Oh......Can I see them?"
"Of course." Mom says then she walks to the door and sticks her head into the hall. "She's asking for all of you."
Mom come's back over to me and holds my hand that has an IV it then a few seconds later the team file in and crowd around my bed.
"What's wrong?" Mama asks as she holds my free hand.
"Audrey has an unhappy triad injury, a fractured Tib-Fib, nerve damage, a punctured artery, and a broken ankle all in her left leg and she will be out for the next 6 months." Mom says.
"Punctured artery again?" Christen asks.
"This injury is a different leg than last time, but yeah another punctured artery."
"Well I guess that's good news." Christen says.
"So when can she start rehab?" Mama asks.
"If all goes to plan Audrey can start in early February." Mom says.
"We won right?" I randomly question.
"Your damn right we did." Mal says.
"And we come bearing gifts." Christen says then she, Ash, Tobin, Alyssa and my Mom stand around my bed
"Here's the game Ball." Ash says and hands me the ball. "Miss hat trick hero."
"I scored?" I question.
"You did." Moe says with a smile. "We won 3-2."
"For scoring ten goals, here's your golden boot." Tobin says and puts the award on my hospital tray thingy.
"For being named player of the tournament, here's your Golden ball Award." Alyssa says and puts the award on my hospital tray thingy.
"Here's your World Cup winners medal." Christen says then she puts the medal around my neck.
"And here's the World Cup." Mom says then she hands me the World Cup trophy.
"Mommy?" I question causing the whole room to get silent.
"Yes baby?" Mom says.
"Is my career over?"
"That's up to you." Mom says and squeezes my hand. "You can either let this defeat you or you can kick this injuries ass and comeback better and stronger."
"Are any of you retiring?" I question as I look at my teammates. "I don't want this to be the last game I play with everyone."
"Oh hell no." Christen says. "We're all gonna keep going till the Olympics and you're gonna be right there with us when we win gold."

"I feel like I haven't slept in years." I say as Ali props my leg up.
"Same." Mal says as she pets Balto on the bed that I won't be using here in New York.
I got out of the hospital a day after my surgery, mainly because I told the doctors that there's no way in hell I'm staying in a hospital bed while my team have a parade.
I already missed the post game celebrations and I will not be missing the parade.
The doctors reluctantly agreed so I was released yesterday then we flew from LA to New York this morning.
"Woah." Julie says.
"What?" Christen asks then Julie shows Christen what she's looking at. "Who the hell posted that.
"ABC at first, but now everybody's running with it."
"Running with what?" Alex asks.
Julie and Christen look at me then they hand me Julie's phone.
On Julie's phone is a video that was uploaded to Twitter. The video shows Police/SWAT body cam footage of mine and Maya's rescue from our kidnappers as well as me meeting up with my Mom again after I was freed.
"What the?" I mumble then I look up at Mama.
"Your Mom just texted me." Mama says. "She's already talking to lawyers and other people to get this taken down and punish whomever's responsible
"Fuck ABC." Mal mumbles.
"Sadly we have to go do Good Morning America tomorrow." Julie says then the room gets quiet.
"Audi?" Moe asks which breaks the silence.
"Yeah?"
"Do you remember everything that happened in that video?"
"I remember it like it was yesterday." I say then I mentally replay the end of my ordeal as I explain everything to the team.
*Flashback*
"Get back in there slut." Grayson says after raping me then he shoves me into the room I've been kept in for the last 132 days.
Once in the room I'm handcuffed next to my girlfriend then the kidnapper leaves the room.
"I don't know how much more I can take of this Maya." I mumble then I rest my head on Maya's shoulder.
"You've gotta keep going Audi." Maya says then she kisses my head.
Moments later there is an explosion coming from down stairs.
"POLICE GET ON THE GROUND." Someone yells then a lot of guns start going off.
Maya and I huddle together and wait for the gun battle to stop.
"MAYA...AUDREY...IF YOU CAN HEAR US YELL." A female voice shouts.
"WE'RE HERE." Maya shouts.
"So sleepy." I mumble.
"HURRY."
"WHERE ARE YOU?" A female voice shouts.
"UPSTAIRS, LAST DOOR ON THE LEFT." Maya yells then I hear a bunch of footsteps coming up the stairs. "PLEASE HURRY."
"Don't let them hurt me." I mumble.
"We're safe." Maya says then the door to our room opens up.
"GOT 'EM." Some lady yells as my eyes shut.
"Help her first." Maya says as the handcuffs are removed.
Moments later I'm picked up into someone's arms then I'm carried out of the room.
"Mommy?" I mumble as the smell of perfume invades my nose.
"You'll be with your Mommy soon Sweetie." Some lady says.
"Okay." I mumble as the lady carries me down the stairs.
When we get down stairs I open my eyes seconds before I'm placed on a gurney. Once I'm on the gurney, I'm covered in a warm blanket then I'm wheeled out of the house.
"Where's my Mommy?" I ask.
"We're taking you to her sweetie." Someone says.
"AUDREY!"
"MOMMY?" I shout then I look around as I'm loaded into an ambulance.
Moments later my Mom flies into the ambulance then she lays on me.
"Mommy." I say as I wrap my arms around my Mom.
"Thank fuck you're okay." Mom says then she starts kissing around my face.
"Mommy?"
"Yes Babygirl?" Mom questions.
"I hate Miami."
*End of Flashback*
"Okay." Mom says. "I think that's enough."
Mom came with us to New York.
"I don't want to relive those 132 days ever again." Mom says then she kisses my head.
"Me either." I say then my stomach rumbles.
"Well I'm glad I'm not the only one who's hungry." Ash says as she feeds Autumn.
"What do you want Baby?" Mom asks as she looks at me.
"I could kill some Chinese." I admit.
"Alright." Mom says with a smile then she looks at everyone. "Who wants Chinese?"
Instantly everyone's hands shoot up.
"Alrighty." Mom says. "Let's go eat."
