Chapter 18
After the screams quiet down and the boys explain everything to the girls, the room became silent again. The girls were excited and happy that Mia was the one who had bonded with Jin. They couldn't believe the reality of it and honestly thought it was a dream. However, they also couldn't help but feel a bit of sadness as they think about all the pain the two will have to go through.
"I think we can move now." Jin's voice sounds as the tension rose. Mia nods and moves her hand from around Jin's body allowing him to move his body from Mia. The scars had darkened to their original black colour. Mia shuffles from Jin creating a large amount of space between her and the idol, but no one has time to question her action as management walks in.
Although Sejin was in the room before, he had left briefly to go and collect somebody. That somebody being the CEO himself, Bang Si-hyuk. Originally they would all have to get up and greet him but the CEO stops them all. "How are you doing Jin-ah?"
His voice was one of comfort and reassurance as he looked at the young man who was still sweating and recovering. "I'm okay Sir. I'm sorry for the trouble." He couldn't help but blame himself again for the trouble he had caused. The CEO has so much work and yet he is using his precious time up for something that could have been avoidable.
"You haven't cause any trouble. We all should have taken the possibility of soulmate bonding more seriously and now you have to pay for it. " He gave Jin a gentile smile before turning towards Mia and Amy. "I'm guessing one of you is Jin's soulmate?" He inquired as he looked at both the girls.
Mia and Amy looked at each other briefly in discomfort as the CEO's eyes looked at them suspiciously. Mia nodded before introducing her self despite her discomfort. "It's nice to meet you sir. I'm Mia, the one who bonded with Jin-ssi and this is Amy." Though wanting to avoid eye contact Mia looked straight into the eyes of the older man before slightly bowing despite being seated. Amy did the same before the two looked up again to see the amusement on his face. It was only for a mere second yet they both caught it.
He clearly seemed like the man who would have never believed this if he didn't see the way Jin recovered after a mere touch from Mia. He was cautious about the two girls who had randomly appeared. He had spent millions of resources to find the one who bonded to Jin to only find out after a phone call at 2 AM in the morning that she had been found, conveniently, outside his building. Though he had been told that it was the bonds doing, by the soulmate specialist, he couldn't help but doubt the girls.
According to his research they were quite famous but not as much as BTS were. This could easily be a tactic to strengthen their popularity. As harsh as it sounds, he had came across a lot of gold diggers and popularity hungry people, especially the ones that hung on to the boys, and he was prepared to cut their ties. If it wasn't for the fact that Jin would die if she wasn't around, he would have already gotten rid off the pair.
It had taken a lot of digging and tests to see if the other girls were not some saesang's or gold diggers but they were able to prove they love the boys as themselves and not some celebrities who would spend fortunes on them. For Mia he had little time to fully check on her and the digging he had done and even asked his subordinates to do came up in nought. Apart from what was up on the internet, all information on her was hidden or there wasn't any in the first place. And this is what fuelled his suspicions. Who was Mia, really?
"I'm Bang Si-hyuk, the CEO of Big Hit Labels. I'm here to discuss what is going to happen now." Throwing away all the doubts in his mind for a second, Band PD-nim approached the girls with a fake and cautious smile. He to sat on the floor as he spread out the numerous documents in his hands. The fake smile would have escaped many as it seemed genuine to everyone, but to Mia and Amy they could see the falseness and warning behind it. This man didn't trust them.
Mia held in her scoff as she read the older man perfectly. Reading people was something she was really good at. A skill, if you would call it that, she acquired as a child. Knowing when someone was angry, upset, happy etc became something that was vital if she was to survive. And this half-hearten acting wasn't fooling her. She could practically see it oozing out of him. The distrust and suspicion he held for them.
"Now this situation isn't ideal. The boys have a tour around the corner and the schedules require all their attention. There isn't anytime for this soulmate bonding stuff. However, now that there has been a connection between the two of you, we have no choice but to carry on going with the plan and alter very small aspects of it."
He swept his eyes around the room as he ensured everyone was listening. His eyes halted for a mere second longer on Mia. To anyone else it would be unrecognisable but to her, the same aura of distrust was flowing out from his eyes. She could see how much he hated this idea. How much everything was ruined because of this. It was almost like he was blaming Mia for this predicament.
Mia restrained herself from rolling her eyes and broke eyes contact before sending a S.O.S glance to Amy who too looked completely uncomfortable about what was happening. The CEO was isolating them out and it disgusted them. Whether he was doing it purposely or accidentally it hurt the girls. It wasn't like they wanted this to happen either.
"Continuing on, I'm going to need everyone to sign a NDA, including you girls (bts girlfriends). Nothing about this soulmate situation is to be leaked or even talked about in public. Mia you will accompany Jin and the boys on their tour to ensure Jin and your safety. Everything will be paid for by the company so you don't need to worry about anything. And as for what you will do whilst in Korea, you will live in an apartment near the boys so if during the night you need to heal then you can do so. Mia, you will be with the make-up artists or managers at all times so fans don't get suspicious, but behind close doors when their is only the company people, you can heal together. Everyone understand?"
As the boys nodded, two people refused to accept. This was totally unfair. "No." The word alone had everyone's heads turning towards the two girls who looked completely furious.
"No? What do you not understand?" Bang PD-nim asked confused at what was so hard to understand. "What I don't understand is what you have against the two of us." Mia was loosing her patience with this man. He was clearly playing favourites. Not only did her barley knowledge their presence, he was also treating this like it was only Jin's life being affected. What about her career? What about her life?
"What do you mean Mia? No one has anything against you." This time it was Minji who spoke up. No one in the room understood why Mia and Amy were so annoyed with what was said. And she was claiming that someone was against her.
"You're not the one that is against us Minji. Or the rest of you. The one who is, is the CEO. " Mia held back her anger and looked at Minji, kindly informing her though she wished she could just leave. How no one noticed this unfair treatment was a mystery to her.
"I have nothing-" Bang PD-nim attempted to say but Amy cut him off. "Yes you do have something against us. We can see it. Not only did you clearly disregard our presences, you keep glancing at us like we are some criminals under your watch. Not to mention this unfair contract. We aren't signing it if this how we are being treated." Amy was always one to keep herself in check, so seeing her so annoyed frightened Mia as well.
The room fell in silence as everyone eyes turned towards PD-nim in curiosity. The man himself was tongue-tied, not knowing what to say. That fact the girl noticed anything was a surprise to him but it made him even more suspicious of their sensing skills. He had done the same thing to people before, including the boys girlfriends, though not to the extent he was with Mia and Amy. No one had ever notice and yet two girls did.
"Look we get that you don't trust us because we appeared at of nowhere but this isn't what we wanted either. All we came for was a small break and now we are all stuck in fates game. No one can intentionally bond with someone, its all up to chance. Jin and Mia just so happen to bond by accident but know they are stuck together. Whether they decide to be lovers or just friends is up to them and no one else can get in the way of that. It's up to them alone. So this hatred you have towards us is pretty stupid and immature, and as the CEO of one of the larges companies in the world its pretty petty." As Amy finished with her pitch, Mia smiled to her in thanks before she turned towards the CEO.
"I have a life and career. I'm not dropping all of it. I have work my ass off to get to where I am now and finally content with my life, so telling me to be some battery charger for Jin and give up everything is pretty pathetic and down right disrespectful. I get this is BTS, the biggest band in the world, and without Jin or any of them members it won't be the same. But you can't make me sacrifice my happiness or life for this bond. Jin has to make some sacrifices too. It's not fair if I make all the sacrifices. As much as I don't want this, now I have bonded I have to do something about it. So being unfair about it not going to help anyone. I'm not signing this contract until it takes both of our lives in to consideration. This isn't one life you are changing, its two. Two that have so much people relying on them." As Mia said this, she stood up without another word and took Amy's hand.
"Amy can I talk to you privately for a second?"
