"ALAIN HEY YOU CAME TOO!
i didn't know you were coming to the festival!" Ash calls upon seeing the familiar figure, the group approaching Alain.
"huh? oh hello Ash. yeah I came with your sister." upon hearing this Bonnie nudges Serena and the two of them giggle at the what they called the 'lovebirds'
"well have you seen her? where is she?" Ash questions, scanning the area for his big sister.
"yeah actually, she's went to go change into a kimono. they have nice ones over there for free." Alain points to a section of the festival, a free selection of kimonos and a dressing room with free hair dressers.
"yay we should totally go get some! cmon Serena lets get into the festival fun!" Bonnie basically dragged Serena, the whole group including Alain following the two of them.
Alain was the only one who waited outside, they had nice dress shirts and kimonos but if he was being honest he wasn't one for dress ups.
he waited outside the dressing rooms, watching one by one as the group came out yet no sign of Julia.
"has anyone seen Julia? she should be out now, you guys went in after her so where could she be?" Alain questions the group, who were all out and already dressed. which was weird considering they came after Julia. she surely would be out by now.
"im sure she's ok, she probably got stuck with one of the kimonos or hair stylist." Serena assures, standing quite a bit near to ash.
Alain would be lying if he said he wasn't worried, but soon felt relieved when he heard her voice from inside one of the dressing rooms. her voice was easily recognizable to Alain.
"ow ow OW, miss hair dresser ma'am I'm telling you that my hair is too thick to put up." the group could hear Julias whines, not wanting to do her hair and gathering wanting it to be down. but the hair dresser seemed to have other plans and could care less about what Julia wants.
"oh you look great quiet now!"
the hairdresser proceeded to lightly push the purple eyed trainer out the dressing room to start on another person who was in line.
"look there she is! wow Julia you look gorgeous!" Bonnie shouts, waving her hand as if telling her the group was that way.
as for Alain, the world just stops. like completely stops and he knows the heat on his cheeks was intensely visible. it looked as if sparkles surrounded her, almost like a visible representation of her aura. she looked absolutely stunning, her kimono being blue with white bird designs and her long black hair tied into a bun with a hair pin holding it all together.
Alain finds himself slowly standing, confusing the group- well other then Serena and Bonnie who we're practically squealing at the sight of the two of them.
Julia notices him immediately and looks away slightly to hide her oncoming blush before glancing back and realizing he wasn't dressed up. Julia frowned at this and stomped toward him angrily, shocking Alain.
"hey why aren't you dressed up !?!" Serena and Bonnie groaned at the ruined moment, falling onto the floor in disbelief.
Alain chuckles nervously at her angered face, sheepishly scratching the back of his neck, "I'm not one for dressing up, but you look-"
Alain cuts himself off when he realizes what he's about to say, eyes widening when she grabs hold of his larger hand to lead him to a dresser who immediately urges him into a dressing room while they look for a clothing piece.
Julia proudly makes her way back to the group, who laughed loudly at what Julia had just pulled off.
"thank you thank you, might be my best work yet." Julia bows before hearing Mawile and Pikachu call out their signature cry. she turns to see Mawile and Pikachu both sporting a small red Pokémon kimono, a small red flower tied to Mawiles plant.
Julia gushed at the sight of the two of them, "Mawile! Pikachu! how adorable! you guys are matching!!"
"Ma! Mawile!" Mawile climbs her way onto Julia's shoulder. Pikachu follows, taking a place on her left shoulder so Julia could pet him.
"he sure loves your belly rubs big sis!" ash says, Julia cradling Pikachu in her arms like a baby and rubbed his tummy. this making Pikachu nearly fall asleep immediately into her arms.
Julia turns to see what everyone else is wearing. Ash wears a red kimono, but it's not tied fully around him and rather hangs loosely like a cardigan with his regular clothes shown underneath .
Bonnie wore a pink and yellow tied kimono, a pink flower replaces the hair pin that held up her small pigtail.
Serena sports a black floral tied kimono, a red rose headband replaces the red hat she usually wears.
Clemont wears a blue kimono with yellow lightning bolts design , the royal blue color on his kimono more vibrant than Julia's pale blue one.
Julia hears Alain getting urged out the dressing room just as she was, everyone turning to look at what Alain was wearing. but before they could, they seen his usually uplifted hair flattened probably due to the hair dresser and the group bursts into laughter.
the laughter soon dies down and Julia takes her time to look at Alain. her eyes widened when seeing his kimono, the design completely matching Julia's own kimono. it was tied underneath another white kimono which hung loosely like ash's.
Pikachu and Mawile jumped off her and made their way onto ash's shoulders. Julia giggled while approaching Alain, watching him try to ruffle his hair back to normal. he frowns at Julia and the groups growing laughter, "I told her I didn't want her to do my hair."
Julia's hands instinctively go to fix his hair, surprising herself and Alain at the sudden movement. she ruffled parts here and there so it looked back to its normal self before realizing the close proximity they were currently in.
"ee- uh sorry I was just fixing your hair-"
"no no it's okay trust me!"
"no I got too close and we're still so so close and I'm-"
"cmon guys I want to go on the rides!" Ash crosses his arms with a pout, tired of waiting. Julia and Alain immediately separating while sheepishly scratching the nape of their own neck. this making Bonnie and Serena shout Ash's name at another ruined moment, Ash wide eyed and confused as to why the girls yelled at him.
"right let's go!" it's as if Julia's nervousness just a second ago dissipates, replaced with her usual ecstatic and energetic self. "I've been wanting to go to this festival for years! lets ride as many rides as we can!"
after getting directions they soon found the pathway to the festival that had dozens of cherry blossom trees. pink petals gracefully fell everywhere, some even landing in the groups hair as they ran speedily through it to reach the area for the rides.
when the group made it to the main area, they took in amazing scenery . banners and fairy lights were hung and everyone was dressed up in Japanese attire. food vendors and shops were placed randomly here and there. what stood out the most was the gigantic cherry blossom tree with a Ferris Wheel placed a little far behind it.
it's said that people tend to confess their love at this festival under that tree.
