A request by MadisonGupton who wanted a Clint one-shot the reader is much younger than Clint (about in her twenties) and the team teases him for it.
The reader is also short (around 4'9").
Some suggestive innuendo. Enjoy.
----------------Flashback------------
"Wow," you say as you walk into the Avengers compound, which was bigger than you anticipated, "I can't believe I get to work with the Avengers, this is so cool." "Go ahead and make yourself at home, kid," Tony encourages, "Everything here, food, rooms, pool and other amenities all free. Well not exactly, I'm the one who pays for it all but, where else could a few million in utilities be spent on anyway?"
Right in this moment, the rest of the team came to welcome you and help you settle in. Amidst the greetings you ran into the archer of the group.
"Hi," you say to Clint, "Hawkeye, right? We haven't met yet." "Well I knew we had someone new on the team, but I didn't expect you to be so small," was Clint's first comment to you. "I'm only 4'9"!" you get defensive. "Small enough I could fit you in my pocket," Clint further adds. "I may be small, but I'm fast, bet you couldn't hit me with those arrows of yours," you retort.
"Alright you too, that's enough," Steve steps in, "(y/n) may be young...and a little on the short side admittedly," you glare at Steve but he continues, "But she has skills that are useful to the team. So, we need to make her feel welcome."
-------------End of Flashback--------
"Almost...got...it," you grunt as you try and reach for the cereal box on top of the cabinet. Even though you were standing on top of the stool, it was still a challenge for you to reach up on the highest shelves.
"Need a hand, shorty?" you hear your boyfriend's voice behind you. You turn your head and, as expected, the first thing you spot is the smug grin plastered on Clint's face. "You know I don't like being called that, Clint," you lightly retort. "Well maybe because it is true and you can't handle the truth," Clint teases which made you scoff. Sure you're the shortest one on the team, but you could still handle yourself in a fight when needed.
You continue your failed endeavor to reach for the top shelf to no avail. "Ready to ask for help yet?" Clint says, arms folded like he was waiting for you to accept defeat. You'd refuse, but your growling stomach demanded you swallow your pride, "Please," you say. "Please what?" Clint places his hand by his ear. "Will you please reach up there and grab that cereal box for me...please."
"That wasn't so hard was it?" Clint smirks, handing you the box. "Well it wouldn't be so hard if Thor and Steve didn't put the cereal up on top shelf of all places all the damn time," you grumble. "Yeah sure, that's those muscle heads, leaving stuff on top shelves," Clint says, experiencing a flashback from yesterday when he gave Thor five bucks to place your favorite cereal on top so you couldn't reach it.
"You know your cute when you're all mad," Clint says, placing a kiss on your forehead. You make a small smile, knowing you couldn't stay mad at the archer for long, especially when he's there to give a hand up when it comes to reaching impossible heights. You stand on your tip toes and kiss his lips in response, a special moment that was ruined when several of the Avengers walks in and make disgust sounds.
You and Clint internally groan, knowing what was coming next. "Ew, weird way to show affection for your daughter, Barton," you hear Tony's voice. "You're one to talk, Stark," you retort back, "What was the youngest you ever had, she was probably younger than me." "Hey, I'm not the one with secret feelings of bedding my father," Tony counters back. "It's not like that," Clint defends for you. "Really, cause what I heard last night through the walls says different," Sam quips in. "Oh good, I'm not the only one who couldn't sleep with all the slapping and moaning last night," Natasha also adds, "Oh, daddy. Yes, daddy. Spank me harder, daddy," she says mimicking your voice. "My personal favorite was 'Daddy, I've been such a bad girl, you'll have to punish me.'" Sam adds, also mimicking your voice.
Your face went hot, realizing just now how thin the walls around the compound really are.
This has become a regular occurrence since yesterday when the two of you were caught together that fateful day.
---------Flashback------------
Surprisingly, you and Clint were inseparable since that day, getting in and out of so much trouble whether it's being surrounded by the enemy on missions or pranking anybody on the team.
Of course the teasing about your height hadn't stopped, be it Clint or anyone else on the team, the short jokes spewed left and right whenever you had to get a stool to reach for something. You took it though because you knew there was no malice in the team's witty banter.
Despite this, you and Clint still remained the best of friends out of the group. You didn't mind the short jokes so much from, as for some reason they felt more endearing than when it came out of anyone else.
You couldn't quite say you were attracted to the archer...okay that's a lie...you might a little attracted to Clint....okay that's a big lie, you're really attracted to Clint. But you hadn't made any moves at the time because if he didn't feel the same for you, it would ruin your amazing friendship. That, and you weren't even sure if he does see you that way given the considerable age gap between the two of you.
One day, you and Clint were alone in the compound when the team went out for drinks; Clint broke his leg on the last mission so he stayed behind and you stayed with him in case he needed something.
Since it was just you and Clint, you only had to share a large bowl of popcorn with only one set of hands reaching in and you had more options for watching you wanted on Netflix, you and Clint settling for re-watching episodes from Black Mirror.
In the midst of one episode where the dark side of technology was revealed, you found yourself making eye contact with Clint. There was something in his eyes that seem to speak about how he was seeing you right now in this moment. At least that was your assumption. Did he see you as a woman? Did he want to be with you the way you wanted to be with him?
Your questions were answered the moment your lips connected. "How long have you felt this way?" you asked. "Probably as long as you," Clint answers. "I think my feelings have been there longer than yours," you say back. "Longer than your height?" "Don't ruin it," you shush and continue to kiss him.
Before you knew it, you and Clint had taken it to the bedroom, where your steamy late night dreams were about to be made real.
When you woke up the next morning, the first thing you saw was Clint's handsome face, and you absolutely had no regrets. It didn't matter how much younger you were or how much older he was. In this moment you knew what you had wanted.
Everything was perfect....
Until the doors to your bedroom were suddenly wide open and half the team was behind it. "I knew it!" you hear Natasha's voice, "I knew there was some Netflix and chill going on here!" "What the hell?!" you and Clint exclaim as you make haste to hide yourselves under the sheets.
"Look, I know we're all close as a tight-knit team, but we're not THAT close," Clint scolds. "Seriously, whatever happened to knocking, this ain't the seventies!" you add. "Really? Cause the obvious free love that happened on that bed says differently," Sam counters. "Especially when the free love apparently extends to the underage of the group," Tony adds. "You know I'm in my twenties right?" you ask. "Well you better make sure that fact checks out in the event any of us get called to testify in open court," Tony teases.
"GET OUT OF HERE!" you and Clint exclaim, which thankfully the team took the hint and close the door, but not before Tony opened up the door again, "Hey, you made sure to use protection right?" You answer by flinging your alarm clock at him as he quickly shuts the door.
"We're never gonna hear the end of this are we?" you ask. "Something tells me this'll be the next piece of Avengers gossip for the next several weeks," Clint answers making you groan. "Well look on the bright side, it's just until someone else on the team screws up so they'll have that to talk about and forget about us," Clint points out.
"So, I'm not too young for you then?" you ask somewhat timid. "Not at all," Clint answers, "If anything, I thought I was too old for you." "Pfft, girls my age pine over Cap and he's ten times your age," you joke which made Clint laugh in response.
-------------End of Flashback--------------
"You two still used protection last night right?" Tony asks, making your face heat up again.
"Okay, Stark that is really none of your business," you retort, "...but yes, and thanks for being SOOO concerned about our being safe." you say the last part sarcastically.
"Hey, just making sure you don't have to make any difficult decisions later in life," Tony says, "frankly with all the moaning I've been hearing through the walls I'm surprised the old man was able to keep up with your youthful stamina."
"You know, Stark, that's funny coming from you," Clint steps in, "I think this would be a good time to mention I may have looked in the mail today and found a prescription of yours, Stark. I couldn't quite figure out what it was called but I think I may have heard on a commercial before, you know the ones with those sexy ladies talking about a certain dysfunction of the male variety."
Tony's eyes widen somewhat realizing what Clint was talking about, "it's a lot more common than you think, it's not solely exclusive to old men," the billionaire defends then walks away.
You kiss Clint on the cheek, "speaking of which, old man, how about you and me try that weird French thing you saw on the internet tonight?" "Oh please don't you call me an old man," Clint lightly pleads, "Anyone else heard that from you, we'll be on the Avengers vine for the next month."
"Too late for that!" you hear Sam's voice from down the hall, making you and Clint groan out loud.
Well, this was your life now, but you wouldn't have any other way if it meant being with the man you love.
