As Zaheer saunters off
To await the moonshine
On the first of the month
'Ramadan Kareem'
he says and pauses
..
For the moon is dim
And not as blissful
As it once was.
Sweet sorrow clouded
Shy shallow thoughts
..
He had seen his Qamar
His Nurr and he
wanted nought more.
..
But as he rode far away
To the entrance of Jannah
He felt the moonshine
Had been brought closer
And yet closer again.
