Rowan's POV:
"Hey" I say to Charlotte when I go into my 1st period class and sit next to her.
"Hey Rowboat" She says back. Sabrina used to call me that.
"How was your weekend?" I ask.
"It was good. I didn't do much" She says. "I missed talking to you" She adds. We normally talk for an hour or two every night. We didn't talk this weekend.
"I missed talking to you too. Sorry I couldn't talk this weekend. We got my little brother a hamster and the whole house had to pause their lives to watch everything and anything the thing did for two whole days" I say.
She laughed. "That's actually really cute. Hopefully I can see the hamster on FaceTime tonight" She says.
"Definitely" I say. "Hey, I've been meaning to ask you something" I add.
"Ask away"
"Would you maybe want to go on a date with me this weekend?" I ask.
"Oh um Rowan. I think you got this all wrong. I'm not gay" She says.
"Oh uh I just kinda assumed because a lot of people say you are" I say. I felt my heart break a little
"I'm just messing with you I am and I would love to go on a date with you" She says.
My face lit up even though I didn't really want it to.
"Great. How's Friday night?" I ask.
"Friday night sounds perfect" She says.
